What a really spectacular river. Thank you for sharing it. Watching this while eating breakfast before I hear any human speak is an amazing start to a day. The music is the cherry on top
Love the San Marcos river.! One of my favorite places. I know they are more nocturnal, but have you ever come across one of the big freshwater prawns in the river?
I would reccomend going there through out the summer because the water is super super super cold but refreshing. It is hidden but it is south Austin. Again it is hidden so maybe search it up. Also learn to swim it is deep and you will need tubes. You could also rent tubes there if you want and also there is this place where you use a tube to go down a slide but be careful the water is strong and cloud drown you.
So apparently I'm *terrible* at reminding myself to check RUclips comments because I've never had a popular channel. You have a very good response from Head Smooty and I think them for that. This video was of course shot at the headwaters of the San Marcos where it's most clear. I can help you with details if you'd like to shoot me an email at cwmorley at that geeeeeeeeemail dot com.
Awesome shots! Where in the San Marcos River did you shoot this? i just went snorkeling from Sewell Park down to Rio Vista Park and the water was not nearly as clear. I'd love to go snorkeling where you went.
Howdy! What you do is go to Sewell Park, on Texas State University campus, and you'll see Aquarena Springs road go right over the river, right at the edge of the park. Jump in right at the bridge, and walk upstream. You'll see the spillway next to the Salt Grass Steakhouse. Before that the river will fork - take a right and you'll see the spillway/dam coming directly from Spring Lake - get up close and you'll find where I did this. It's very shallow where I started, which is part of why it's very clear. FYI, you cannot swim in Spring Lake. And do not walk on the shore, they are rehabilitating the area, hence the fencing.
If you find a Sony Mavica at he bottom of the San Marcos river, I am the one that dropped it. This was around 2001, So I'm sure its pretty well shot by now. Old floppy disk technology anyway.

Your video is much better than mine! Never get tired of watching the wild rice sway in the current.

Hi I was wondering if I could use a few seconds of this video as a clip for a film project for school, if not that's okay. Thanks in advance
Absolutely. Would you be willing to share the final result with me?
Please tell me what section or area of the san Marco's this is. And what time if year. I must plan a trip!
