I agree Kaveri water shd be given Fr 2 states, but more Amt of water should be given to Karnataka, coz karnataka only depends on Kaveri and they use fr primary level of irrigation, where TN hav many water options, and they use kaveri water fr 2 nd and 3 rd level irrigation.
M not supporting any state but m supporting the fact, if Any one doubt me u can google it, How farmers in Karnataka facing problem of lack of rain, water (Kaveri 💧)

Kaveri basin is used by TN for 2000 years. Because water is free flowing in nature, TN farmers have effectively used it. Now if you block it where the farmers you want them to go? Look at Egypt and Nile river. If the upper riparian stops it, entire Egypt will become a desert.

Tamilnadu was under the British presidency and Karnataka was the Princely State of Mysore.... As Usual Britishers took a major portion of Kaveri Water so that they'll get more tax from their Direct ruled Tamilnadu or Madras presidency... Then Tamilnadu built a large area of irrigated land as Mysore built very less area of irrigated land... Even after independence the same injustice carried on Karnataka as because Tamilnadu have already built a large area of irrigated land.... It's a purely Injustice made by British on Indian princely State of Mysore.... In today's Independent India Karnataka needs an Equal share of water that's the true justice....
As kaveri belongs to both the states so equal share should be allocated.... We are expecting equality in independent India

    Dear Sir,
A railway track is going to be laid from Mysore to Coorg District. Coorg is the Water Tank of Bangalore. Coorg being a hilly and forested area the River Cauvery is born here. And it is the Cauvery that provides IT city Bangalore, with its drinking water.
WHY THE RAILWAY TRACK TO COORG (KODAGU) MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO EVEN START FROM MYSORE.
    - The estates and forests here are the main rain catchment area for the River Cauvery. 50% of the volume of water in the River is from here, and this volume has been decreasing steadily.
    - For a railway track to be laid, lakhs and lakhs of trees will need to be cut in this ecologically sensitive area.
    - The River Cauvery is the lifeline of South India and provides water to over 80 million (8 crore) people, and 600 major industries across the region. It is therefore in the National Interest to preserve the Coorg ecology.
    - The food, water and economic security of Southern Karnataka and Tamil Nadu hinges largely on the Cauvery River. In Karnataka, these regions include the citizens and farmers of Bangalore, Mysore, Mandya and Coorg. And in Tamil Nadu it covers the districts of Salem, Erode, Trichy, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam.
    - Simply put, no trees in Coorg means no River Cauvery. Every tree holds 30,000 to 40,000 litres of water, its roots release water underground to form tiny streams, and its leaves give off moisture into the air to create humidity that invites rain from passing clouds.
    - The sad truth is that already lakhs of trees have been cut for various so-called development projects. A high-tension power line that could have gone down the coast of Karnataka, instead of coming inland to cut over 50,000 trees in the forests of Coorg. A road-widening to highway standards project, is ongoing.
    - Four new species of trees were added to the list of trees that can be cut as timber. This has caused a further loss of lakhs of trees within the last year.
WHY SPEND RS. 1800 CRORE FOR A RAILWAY TRACK THAT HAS BEEN FOUND ECONOMICALLY NOT VIABLE?
    - Earlier studies done by the Railway Department of the economic feasibility of this route, have declared that this track is not financially viable. The population of Coorg and the potential traffic of customers do not call for a railway track.
    - The track if executed will be done at a cost Rs. 1800 crores, the returns are far too small to justify this large expense. This money can be used for more urgent and important purposes in the Country.
    - The excuse of promoting tourism is being given by the Govt, but the truth is there are already too many resorts and home stays, and stinking piles of garbage are lining many of the roads.
    - Another excuse given by the Government is that the coffee grown here can be sent by train to Mangalore port, but the fact is that coffee is already being despatched by road, quite efficiently and economically.
WHAT WILL THE IMPACT BE OF THE RAILWAY TRACK ENTERING KUSHALNAGAR IN COORG, ON ALL THE OTHER AREAS CONCERNED?
    - The railway track should not be allowed to even start from Mysore, because once it reaches Kushalnagar, the doorway to the district, it will be impossible to stop it from continuing inwards into the estates and forests of the district. There is simply too much timber money involved.
    - For the railway track to enter Coorg district, it has to overcome the many laws which are intended to protect a hilly, forested, tribal district. Therefore, once the railway track enters this district, it will be very easy for it to not only travel to Madikeri, but it will criss-cross all over the district to the borders with Kerala, and the borders of the Karnataka districts of Dakshina Kannada and Hassan.
    - Finally there will be so many tracks laid and so many lakhs of trees lost, that the local tree cover will no longer be able to generate rain and hold the water to create the River Cauvery.
    - The biggest losers in this tragedy will be the 8 crore people of Karnataka (including Bangalore), and Tamil Nadu, who depend on the River Cauvery.
    - The tree loss from the railway track entering Coorg would be so much that it is difficult to calculate, and the long-term effect on the climate and water supply is difficult to predict. Though the heat wave conditions of the summer of 2016, and the water shortage, gave us an unpleasant taste of things to come.
Please sign this petition and forward it to others who will support the cause. Help us to stop the railway track to Coorg, save the trees and protect the drinking water of 8 crore Indians in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. www.change.org/p/min-ecology-karnataka-gov-in-stop-the-railway-to-coorg-save-river-cauvery-your-drinking-water

Water is the most important basic need of all
living things. This dispute brings the
worst in people, in Karnataka state. Just as we do not own the land we live in,
we are temporarily in possession, we cannot claim to own the wind that blows
nor can we claim the river that flows through our land
    It is very sad.
How can people in Tamil Nadu do something positive and constructive and
meaningful for now and for future. This
    is my view
The clouds that bring rain to Karnataka move mainly
from the Indian ocean and Bay of Bengal.
Thy move over the Tamil Nadu Plains before becoming rain
Can we harvest some of the rain before it hits the
    mountain ranges in Karnataka
There may be artificial way of hitting the clouds
so that the rain falls on Tamil Nadu land
Or should the People of Tamil Nadu, Expatriate and
government invest in a massive tree planting and trees growing scheme that is supposed to create a
forest that can give up biogases that help in rain fall. can this be done

If Tamilnadu is a separate Country we have all rights to get 50% of Cauvery water as per International Law . If India won't give water then severe actions will be taken against them. If Scotland ( white man ) has the right to have a election to decide whether to remain remain with UK why not us. Rama, Akbar , Ashoka never rulled Tamilnadu . Historically we are separate Country.

Don't start the story from British rule. Start it from Karikala cholan's Time. Tamil Nadu was using kaveri water since Chola's time. Karikala cholan build worlds first dam in Kaveri. Raja Raja Cholan Break a Dam build by Karnadaga King Narasimman by using His army to release water from Kavery. Now again illigaly karnadaga build so many dams with out permission of Tamilnadu and developed their agriculture lands ( It is Not happens during British rule. They build so many dams After 1947 ). But unfortunately today Tamil Nadu is not a separate country to declare war. And Hindusthan and karnadaga is united together to cheating Tamilnadu. The problems should solved as per international rules.
