Mekadatu Balancing reservoir is essential for Karnataka to meet the monthly stipulations. If Tamilnadu objects, it should take the responsibility to store excess water released in earlier years and adjust it cumulatively, towards release from Karnataka. 3. Distress Sharing: Whenever, Southwest Monsoon fails, the decrease in release to Tamilnadu should be calculated as if both Tamilnadu and Karnataka get their precipitation normally during Northeast Monsoon. Later, after Northeast monsoon, further release if any by Karnataka, based on actuals, should be decided. 5. Godavari releases a lot of excess water, some times in thousands of TMC per year. The water from Godavari be diverted to Srisailam reservoir and futher to Cauvery. It would help on the way Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamilnadu. It should nbe implemented as a natural river linking project.

People those who saying karnataka shouldn't give water to Tamilnadu have no idea what are the things can go wrong in next 5 months south India will face huge food shortage and its lifeline for 14 districts around kaveri that Mean people of 12 districts aren't human right I have never seen water from Amravati for ages because kerala doesn't want share, now karnataka want to cut lifeline of Tamil Nadu so that their factories and companies can run smoothly over the Tamilnadu
@@Unknown-explorerr a river equally belongs to all the countries/States/cities/towns/villages it runs through from start to end in the ocean - international law.. Sindhu belongs to both Pak and Ind, Brahmaputra belongs to both china and ind. But despite wars/differences the water sharing b/w these countries are smooth.. But this kannadigas being in the same nation claims ownership to a river🤷♂️.. Imagine if Maharashtra and Kerala takes the same stance as you and not sharing water with you.. They too have water scarcity. But still they share. Imagine TN stops sharing electricity generated from its coal and nuclear reactors with Karnataka, we too have electricity shortage.. But still we share
Tamilnadu must be much more vigilant in illegal sand mining and also stop legal mining. And should plan multiple check dams on River Cauvery. Which will increase ground water as well.
I Think Court Has To Take Step For This Purpose .Then It Will Solve Peacefully And Legally .If Public Are Doing Protest And Violence Then It Will Increase The Tension Between Both States .
Karnataka has no water to release. It is no rain surplus this year.. Both govts should report facts to Tribunal and obey it ..instead of taking matters to court and streets
Main problem is Karnataka try to use 480 TMC instead of allotted water share. The flow of 1200 TMC per year was reduced to 740 TMC by destructing constructions and environment dams construction by Karnataka. Now also want to constructi mekkatattu dam which will be disaster. Honestly tell they released less than 100 TMC whereas utilised more than 300 TMC of water.
Best Class On This Dispute 😅❤ Thank U Very Much Sir...😊 My Words For Tamil Nadu... We Are Kannadigas Always Wish Our Brother Tamilian To Be Have Much Water Than They Accept But Actually Karnataka Is Facing Water Crisis So We Also Need Water If We Have Much Water Then We Will Allow For U To Be Used 😅😅
For example If Karnataka having 100rs then tamilnadu asking equal share KA give 50rs to TN. Whereas If KA has only 60rs then TN asks equal share of 30rs but KA only accepts to give 10rs. KA saying we can only give you the rest. So, 60-50= 10. TN saying 50:10 is not an equal share, we Demand equal share.
Such issues including stone pelting and communal violence will increase on lead up to Indian elections as most adverse events have overseas source of funding,in this case the politicians are proxies in a situation that can be solved amicably
Karnataka and tamil nadu are both good people and good state but this problem arise because of political reasons The parties which take kaveri issue will win in karnataka
Why cant the water sharing be based on rainfall received? Why is it fixed irrespective of rainfall received? What dams are there in TN to store the North east monsoon rainfall water?
Tn people needs for drinking only like them... Scarce water now found, is available for both people drinking only nt fr agricalture ... After their stomach fulls thn it needs for our stomach too.. So give that..

We have never seen protest by tamilnadu, they are happy what they getting, only Karnataka people fighting and protest are happening because of scarcity of water
This is an el nino year, and forecast was given well in advance and both governments have failed their farmers to convince them not grow high water intake crops like sugarcane and paddy. there is large scale sand Mafia, causing the river to drain in to ground water there is need to protect the river and its banks. People's domestic need for water triumphs the irrigation needs, both governments must provide composition for crop failure.
@@praveenboo well Karnataka is ready to a certain amount which doesn't affect our farmers and people living here but TN wants more than what we can afford to give thats the problem
Just follow international guidelines on water sharing! Many countries do this without issue but neighbouring states differ.. this is pity! Doesn’t matter what the rainfall status .. share water on agreed percentage basis after all we are a union of states! Jai Hind!
In North, Narmada provides water to 5 Different States. Why can Rivers in South not do that? Is there a water scarcity in these rivers? Or is there scarcity of Goodwill & Rampant Separatism within the General Public and Political Spectrum?
People of Narmada Basin - Gujarati, Marathi, Dialect of Hindi speakers consider themselves brother and want to resolve issues. But Tamilnadu have disputes with all of their neighboring states, due to Tamil supremacy syndrome.

Sir, agar ham TMC me measure na karke, percentage mey measure karna chahiye, jyada water honepar bhi same percent or kam water hone par bhi same water distribute kar sakte hai.
Since the demand is more than the supply required the Karnataka government has proposed a check dam at mekadatu many years ago to Tamil Nadu as that can hold excess water whenever there is excess rainfall year instead of allowing the water to flow into the bay of Bengal and this water could be used during distress years by both states judiciously but TN has not given the noc for this project as they expect Karnataka to give them water whether we can supply it or not and the order to continue the supply of water by the cauvery tribunal too is a joke as more importance should be given to drinking water over supplying water for agriculture and this is the formula that is used all countries across the world but our tribunal gives a damn to water supply for Bangalore city. Hamare Bharat mahan indeed 😂😂😂
Friend..when SC gives order only Karnataka wont follow..How do you expect TN to trust KtK because once mekadatu is built..all water will be taken by ktk and they will incresae their cultivation..Rememeber karnataka has disputes with small states like goa also..no one trust ktk politicians..
@@samuelgeorge3823 Karnataka cannot take all the water itself as the SC has already passed a judgement on how much water needs to be shared to all states. It is better than just wasting all the water going to the sea. Why doesn't your government build desalination plants and ask your farmers to grow only one crop per season like how farmer's in Karnataka do. Do not expect Karnataka to bear all the responsibility as cauvery is not a perennial but seasonal river that depends on rainfall. Let go of your egos and chauvinism and come sit on the table to discuss mutually on the steps to be taken as going forward rainfall in the cauvery basin is going to decrease due to global warming issues so we need to come up with sustainable steps like growing more trees in the cauvery basin, build desalination and check dams. We can learn from Israel that went from a barren land to being fully self sustainable with water now and has the highest yield per acre for any country in agriculture.
India is now capable of dealing the world issues as a global leader but our bad, it still cant able settle the internal issues !! What would be the reason ?😢
The main and undeniable problem I'd say is the presence of two biggest cities : Bengaluru and Mysore. Since we kmow there is no enough rainfall to fill the river and due to the excessive consumption of river water by these cities, farmers of Karnataka who're depending this river for their agriculture are facing water scarcity and hence the entire districts and notably the farmers of Tamilnadu, are depending on this river water. Also, I knew Tamilnadu East coastal district ppl waste the river water by sending the water all the way upto the sea. So I guess we should resolve the agricultural methods first like how to use water, which irrigation could be suitable for the specific crops etc.
Karnataka using this water mainly for drinking purpose because of lack of rain but tamilnad want water for agriculture 🤦♂️. And in tamilnad rainy season will start soon but in karnataka rainy season is over. They are like to take revange on karnataka tamilnad should be happy let karnataka people die without water.
need to do cavery distribution as per rainfall......not fixed share... we do not have water for drinking and TN is asking for agriculture (3rd crop). every year making same nonsence thing from both politicians.. ..ther is no dams after mettur ,,,,, create dams and store store more water at the rain season..
Those rivers run in northern and central part of Karnataka. In southern part, near Mysore and Mandya farmers are completely dependent on kaveri water for agriculture. Also Kaveri water is used to fulfill drinking water in Bangalore.
Please add the details..in Bengaluru which state population is living and using the same kaveri water for drinking purpose. Ground level reality is..in Bengaluru and in Tamilnadu both regions TN peoples are getting the benefits.. thank you kannadigas..
Government should make a scientific system like oil pipelines, if oil pipeline can be used as a energy system then water is more important but no body's want u invest and no-one government emplimed any hard system to harvest rainfall, My simple opinion is , our scientist successful in space but why the have not funded to harvest rainfall water.,if any system is implicated to this there is no need for any tribulations
Farmer should learn how to use less water in farming from isreal. Politicians are making fools to the farmers of 4 all states. Learn scientific methods.
What will karnataka do if there is heavy rainfall in both TN and karnataka and in case dam is about to overflow. Can they hold the water if TN doesn't require water?
Y u release that much of water last year.. Bcz if u stored that much huge in dam.. Ur dam was broken... So sent that.. Silently .. Now u r saying we wasted.. How can tha dam ll be constructed in plains 😞😔.. Moreover we hv lakes in sufficient amount to store it. Plz give idea if possible 😡

Best way is to share water through percentage and not in term of TMC. This will solve the problem in high rain fall and low rain fall.
But how would you decide water percentage on the spot? We cannot predict rain
Some average can be allocated based on high low medium rain fall
This is why Supreme Court said
It is already calculated by percentage only which karnataka is refuse to share every time
TMC is measurement. Percentage of TMC is decided by cauvery board.

Tamilnadu must be much more vigilant in illegal sand mining and also stop legal mining. And should plan multiple check dams on River Cauvery. Which will increase ground water as well.

South India must made a artificial rain technology 😊❤
Karnataka has no water to release. It is no rain surplus this year.. Both govts should report facts to Tribunal and obey it ..instead of taking matters to court and streets
Main problem is Karnataka try to use 480 TMC instead of allotted water share. The flow of 1200 TMC per year was reduced to 740 TMC by destructing constructions and environment dams construction by Karnataka. Now also want to constructi mekkatattu dam which will be disaster. Very well summarised. The following are my suggestions to help mitigate the problem:
1. There should be additional reservoirs in Cauvery Delta to ensure that water does not go into sea in excess years.
2. Mekadatu Balancing reservoir is essential for Karnataka to meet the monthly stipulations. If Tamilnadu objects, it should take the responsibility to store excess water released in earlier years and adjust it cumulatively, towards release from Karnataka.
3. The accounting be shifted to 1st April to 31st March, given the early rains due to climate change.
Great explanation
Only good monsoon can save this issue...pray for rain in all over world 😢
Well done explaination 😊
Rewrite the whole 100 year old treaty which is being used as base to decide watersharing
We r not in the 1900s
Karnataka has suffered enough injustice
We are south Indians. We are all brothers. We should not fight on Petty issues
We have never seen protest by tamilnadu, they are happy what they getting, only Karnataka people fighting and protest are happening because of scarcity of water
Because there is no water and you expect same amount of water even when there is no rain. Didn't you watch full video
Because they are getting more than enough.
Simple river way can maintain by central govt like railway system..
The best way to solve this through their geographical area in that particular state and offcourse both the state should build another dam

Central Government should take control of all dams in india. Like all Airports are under their control
Karnataka itself don't have water for drinking and TN asking for irrigation....... That's not fair....
Then how Tamil people will drink water from space 😂
My friend you can't build a dam wherever you like.. east coastal area in tamilnadu is a fertile plain area.. how do you imagine to build a dam there?

Because both Telangana and Andhra pradesh are depended on Godavari and Krishna
