Jimi used to love to jam all night until the morning at a basement bar in Manhattan called The Scene. A 'who's who' of musicians could be found jamming down there. He would often move the party to his studio Electric Lady, which was one his main motivations for building the NYC studio in the first place.

At 48 seconds you can hear Jimi play his cornball/schmaltz showbiz phrase in the background during introductions. He did that same phrase, maybe at Cologne. I like hearing the sense of humor.

Yeah haha he liked to throw that in places. He plays it at the end of one of the Purple Haze performances at Winterland aswell.

@@dailydoseofblues7708 Paul Butterfield and Michael Bloomfield are great, and, quite probably, Charlie Musselwhite even greater. Thank you for reminding me about them. I’ll see what I can do; there’s a lot of their stuff on YT already.

I always thought....you know, the obviousBb king is great for all the usual reasons. And while I always enjoyed hearing him pla, it seemed like whenever he addressed his audience it seemed to me he very often would turn it into blatant solicitation of applause for himself. And given the fact that he was revered for the majority of his career I could never understand why he felt compelled to self promote as he did ,often times shamelessly.

Saw B.B. at the end in Nola. Had front row seats, and it was embarrassing trying to duck out gracefully.
He was a master once, but at this time he was your feeble, old grandfather telling stories, that while entertaining, and warming, wasn't music. God bless you Beeb for all you did. Love ya, man.
