There is a button to move the shifter manually..I can't recall been a min since I did this video..it's on the right of the shifter and I couldn't move it since the solinoid wasnt powered
I have the same code 4e87 shift lock valve 4 . The gear on the dash was yellow then turnt to red. I suspect it's the same connector as the one in the video. My question is do I have to disassemble the whole dash just to get to this connection? Also my gears can move freely without pressing the brake .
Same here. '06 530i. Transmission malfunction after a noticeable lurch. Scan wouldn't clear the errors and mechanic says I need to replace solenoids on my transmission. Bought cheap aftermarket parts and found a mechanic to do the work on nextdoor.com. He is gonna do it on Tuesday (2 days from now). Will update after that. Hopefully will be successful!

the error was that you couldnt shift from Drive to Drive sport , or the gears were uphisfting in manual mode on their own ????
How’d you fix it???
Was it giving you late hard shifts that ate erratic when shifting and did it stop once you replaced this part
No it never let me go into reverse or drive..
