I have played this song 63 times it says on my phone. I heard my brother playing it and had to ask him "What the hell is this "It was melancholic and nostalgic, it was VHS, it is from a time I did not live, it is Phil Collins, its dream-like, its synth and it's the song I have been looking for, for the longest time. The bassline is reminiscent of The Police Every Step You Take. The Riff has the sadness and dreaminess I have been yearning for from a song since then. I am in love with this song so much.
The synth patch lead at 2:35 is glorious. This kid was born in 1997 and is quoting synth and drum sounds from the 1980s. I don't know if he's even trying, he may just be a genius. Eric Clapton was asked about guitarists who excite him in May 2024, and he said Mk.Gee, he compared him to when Prince showed up in the 1980s. Wonderful music here.
The darkest, most beautiful, melancholic and at the same time such a familiar song. It reminded me of my childhood when my mother would leave me alone for a few weeks with my uncle and his family when she went on a business trip in late autumn. It would get dark early, I was a withdrawn child, I missed her, I would walk with my uncle's children and the local kids among the cold view of high-rise buildings with pale facing. We would go out from there to an open field where everything had already been harvested and only the river flowing along the edge, the overgrown banks, the migratory birds that had landed before flying to other lands enlivened the space. The orange sun was setting, adding its colors, my thoughts were getting tangled with reality, with the movies I had watched before on cable TV and I was glad that now I was surrounded by a similar atmosphere. But the longing for home and for my mother did not leave me.
The opening sounds like a mix between Phil Collins' 'In the Air Tonight' & 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police. I can tell Mk gee has been listening to the great icons from the past & making something new, at the same time. I really appreciate that.
the secret sauce is - he runs his baritone jazzmaster guitar directly into a tascam tape deck and clips the audio signal coming in - that's why it slightly distorts only when he strums it hard 🤓
Reminds me of something that could have been on the Drive soundtrack. I was living in Portland when that movie came out and so many bands around there were trying to replicate that sound.
I love most if not all the songs just haven’t given a few of them a solid run through but this is by far the top of my list. Without a single shred of doubt. Fucking magical
This could have been a song on Miami Vice. A scene where they were just driving around at night, thinking about shit. Or, this is music from the year 3024. Brilliant.
Esta canción me recuerda a un chico que conocí, en un momento no bueno para ninguno de los dos. Pero qué sin duda hubiéramos hecho un amor bonito juntos.
This feels like prom night slow dance and then driving home with the wind in your hair
At times, your guitar sounds like a soprano saxophone. Other's like Yamaha DX7. Amazing!
what the fuck just happened
no seriously…

The Dream Police sounds like Brian Adams singing in The Police!
The best one of the album
that little switch around the 2:30 mark is actually batshit insane and goes so hard for absolutely no reason. love this album
Go white boy go!!!!!
This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard in my life

I think its his guitar he runs it though some old stereo and it sounds nuts.
In which interview did he say this?
The (Dream) Police huh? 👀 I dig it
Bro cooked
Only 40k views but that doesn’t matter your recognition will come.
Once in a lifetime artist we’re witnessing.
His show in SF is sold out. Too much recognition for my liking.

I literally gasped when I heard this on the album for the first time. It's just so perfect

this one is special
Police meets Christopher Cross meets lofi indie
This album is just the cherry on top of "A Museum Of Contradiction". Hope this gets the recognition it deserves.
sounds like an 80s glam rock deep cut
Always a good thing.
Fun fact, here - @2:36 -they added the audio of the live performance from the Chicago show!! The synth levitates me every time💫🧙♂️💫
mk.gee is so freakin cool for that holy crap
it's actually Andrew Aged on guitar using his Hologram Electronics Infinite Jets pedal!

Top shelf quality. You might also like a band called Uncle Reno.
the production on these tracks reminds me of Arthur Russell.
Inmediately hooked

This is the dimeback from the new album. Make no mistake.

This song is so lush baby
Beautiful song. Keeps coming back to mind so I keep listening to it. Music that takes you places….

If "every breath you take" was a band
the guitar tone is so good. Shouts to all you pedalheads doing gods work 😭🙌🫰✨🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Otherworldly. Backrooms pop for the urban decay of the world
Prince vibes
For sure, most of his songs that I've heard have some of the Purple Rain and/or Computer Blue guitar or synth sounds. From what I've heard so far.
stellar
The Police and Bon Iver/James Blake vibes
FIRE AS FUCK! I usually vibe to hiphop rap r&b a lot, but this album is something else.
This is legendary mannnnn
Damn man…
AOTY!!!!
