    I am wondering what do you mean with 180 cm of toweling? It looks that your material is much bigger... Maybe 180 x 2? Could you please let us know what is the length of the reel? Or in general the exact size of your material? Thanks!

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  2 года назад +1

      Hi Monika, sorry for the late reply! The width of our bamboo towelling is 145 cm, so basically the piece that you need is 180 cm x 145 cm.
      Hope that helps!

    My hood seems smaller than yours, when you place the pattern on the fabric to cut out you have less wastage than me. When you Sellotape the pieces of paper together for the pattern, do you aline the dark lines or the A4 paper lines? Amanda

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  2 года назад

      Hello Amanda, sorry for the late reply!
      We would ideally line up the black lines, maybe try checking your printer setting, making sure the printer is not scaling your pattern down?

      @textileexpressfabric  2 года назад

      Hello Sarka, the pattern for the hood is available here- www.textileexpressfabrics.co.uk/misc/changing-robe-hood-pattern_textile-express.pdf you need to print it and sellotape it together.

    • @Choppini
      @Choppini 2 года назад

      @@textileexpressfabric you should mention somewhere in the info with the original link if your print requires A4 or LETTER-size paper, so people can adjust their print-settings. Since you are measuring in CM, I assume that you are NOT in North America, where unfortunately in general LETTER-size printing is the norm. I've had problems in the past with other European patterns, until I figured out that they require A4-paper, which I had to order then for being able to print 'the real size'.

    I have bought a towelling fabric for the inside and a fleece fabric for the outside. How would you go about sewing these together?

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  Год назад

      Nice idea Zanne, you'd have to make two identical robes, the place one inside the other (fabric face side to face side) and sew together like any lined item. Then sew up the hole you would have left to turn the robe right side out!
      Good luck!

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  Год назад

      hello,
      the numbers go 1+2 together on top
      then 3+4 together at the bottom.
      So you'll have number 3 under 1 and number 4 under 2.

    Hi, I've printed tge hood out but not sure my settings have printed the exact size, worried its too big. So, can you tell me, what does the top to bottom of the front of the hood measure on the pattern piece? Thanks in advance.

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  Год назад

      hello Christina, sorry for the late reply. The original hood measures 47 cm from top to bottom, but don't worry if this measurement varies slightly, as in the tutorial you make the opening of the robe fit the hood that you have.

      Hi, the piece of towelling that you need is 145 cm x 180 cm. But the width across the shoulders after you have folded the fabric over is approx 70 cm.

    Just made one of these. I had a little trouble catching the shoulder seam with the hood. Any suggestions?

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  Год назад +1

      That is the most fiddly part of the make! Make sure you pin really well before starting to attach the hood, that should help. You can also try popping the garment on the machine so you can see the shoulder seam ie the body of the robe is on top rather than the hood, then you will know for sure that you have managed to catch it with your stitching. I hope this helps.

    • @peeshyholland433
      @peeshyholland433 Год назад

      @@textileexpressfabric thanks for your response on this. My changing robes turned out so cute. My surfer family is getting them for Christmas! I wonder what percentage you would use to reduce the hood pattern for a toddler. Thanks a lot.

    • @textileexpressfabric
      @textileexpressfabric  Год назад

      @@peeshyholland433 don't take this as a rule, but our suggestion would be to first decide on the length of the robe for the toddler and whatever percentage you take away from the length, take that percentage off the hood.
      Hope that helps!
