      @@3DPrintedTabletop I would recommend checking out Spelljammer if you haven't. Think fantasy with fantasy's version of scifi. Like spaceships made of wood sailing between the planets and/or planes that are nestled in the branches of the world tree type stuff. It's been years since I've played it but I'm planning to surprise my group by introducing it to the current campaign. It was originally for AD&D but there are some conversions to different systems floating around.

    at 6:55 in 3d builder you can dupe the goggles, take one large rectangle and use the subtract feature while selecting the duped goggle to make a negative of the goggle shape and then use that negative on another rectangle to then make a positive to plac inside the goggles.

    Depending on what slicer program you're using, you might not even need to use a separate program for combining your models. A lot of times, when I'm printing a mini with a separate base, I'll often print them both together, with the model already positioned on the base, and they'll come out as one solid print.

    I've seen alot of kitbashing on things like Gundam models, but never thought about actually editing the 3d models before printing. An application of this could be to model bases, like adding some potions to a alchemist figure.

      I didn't include them because they would've added a good 10 minutes to the video, and I felt it would've dragged a bit much.
      I ended up leaving the gap, but mostly what I'd have done is probably just left the attached shapes a bit longer and then extruded down in 3D Builder to keep the goggle shape consistent.

    I see here that you have an Epax X1, unfortunately there aren't many reviews about it as everyone talks about Anycubic only. Would you mind share your thoughts about the Epax X1?

    Would you be able to get this owl bear print on the ender 3? Or would it not look good?

    What paint do you use to paint the 3D printer plastic

    • @3DPrintedTabletop
      @3DPrintedTabletop  5 лет назад

      For the minis, I use a combination of Vallejo and Citadel paints normally, along with some washes from Army Painter. For the terrain pieces, I just use craft paint from Walmart (Apple Barrel).

      Thanks I like the idea of painting I’m gonna try doing it myself and also what 3D printer do you use? I was just looking for one

    Hey could you possibly recommend advice for getting rid of stringing on prints?

    • @stingray4567
      @stingray4567 5 лет назад +2

      If the strings are fine - you can remove them with a hair dryer or heat gun

    • @3DPrintedTabletop
      @3DPrintedTabletop  5 лет назад

      @@stingray4567 What Stingray said - and also run a few stringing tests and work on your retraction. There are plenty of videos going through it. I normally just opt for a hair dryer/heat gun :)

    Why don't you just model the goggles?

    • @3DPrintedTabletop
      @3DPrintedTabletop  5 лет назад +1

      Those goggles are the perfect thing to make in Tinkercad, but I felt that introducing any kind of modeling would have made the project a bit more intimidating. In reality, you don't need it to do something like this... So I used something that already exists :)
