There once was an NBA player and a young street baller. The street baller dedicates his life to the street game and has a huge following in his community. The NBA player in the offseason goes to the streets to play a pick up game to have some fun and keep in touch with the community. When the street baller comes up to the NBA player and says "Yo, can you give me tips on how to make it to the next level?" The NBA player says, "Sure, go to school, make the high school team, and work your way by making a name for yourself. You will get recruited into a college team". The street baller retaliates. He says "Why should I give up on street ball when I have such a big following in the streets? I can make it to the NBA this way." The young street baller disregards everything the NBA player says because he thinks the NBA player doesn't understand how hard he works at his game for street ball and doesn't understand his vision of getting into the NBA through street ball. He gets offended when the NBA player tells him how he got into the NBA and what he is able to accomplish and sees it as a "dick measuring contest" to what the street baller has accomplished in the streets. I think you guys get the point now. David is that street baller. I love him to death and I know he has the talent to be successful with the big boys. But sometimes you need to swallow your pride and take in what someone who has done what you want to do and either take the advice or don't. I'm not saying it's impossible to get into an acting career with RUclips, but I do believe taking advice from Justin is a smart thing to do. David's alpha personality is always going to butt heads with advice he doesn't agree with and will take offense to it. The only issue with alpha personality is either they are going to hit it big, or they are going to fall tremendously. I hope David can hit it big, but sometimes you just gotta respect the game and the players.
Honestly whatever was going on, it's not fair of you to talk like that to Sasha. It's just really low to say things like 'your husband is crazy' and 'your husband is fucking of out his mind'. It's just low.

Mina x I'm good enough friends with ALL my friends to talk to them like that. You're looking at it from a "protect your mate"/"bond between a man and a woman" POV. If you look at it as just a group of friends hanging out and Friend A makes a comment about Friend B spazzin' out to Friend C, his comments really aren't a big deal. It's interesting reading peoples comments which is what these videos are for so let me break it down for you: 1. David you're not taking his advice. - you are wrong. I have taken his advice and I have been auditioning. I booked a pilot where my character got nixed and then the show got cancelled. I had an opportunity on a show that is airing right now but I decided to help develop jknews instead which is a choice i'm very happy with so i said no thank you and stuck with my gut. 2. I don't see where you're career is going. - What the fuck are you watching right now? Do you know about all the things i'm involved in? NO? didn't think so. I don't have to justify my life based on my social media to make you feel happy about where I'm going LOL. 3. Don't ask for advice if you're not going to follow it. - Do you think that's what advice is for? For you to follow the shit VERBATIM. As if we're puppets. Advice is asking for conversation on perspective whether you take it or leave it. You take in the stuff that you want and you want it to work for you. You can not get angry at someone for not following YOUR PATH. 4. Arent you trying to be an actor! - WHEN THE FUCK DID I EVER SAY I WANTED TO BE AN ACTOR? If that was the case I wouldn't be on youtube what the fuck? Acting is a FULL TIME FUCKEN JOB. It's a fun hobby of mine where people have approached me. I'm asking for acting tips on my SKETCHES. So i can be a better actor to better understand what's going on when i write and create scripts. have you seen my sketches? Don't you think I work on that acting craft. Have you seen the SHITTY acting in all the other youtube sketches you've watched. There' aren't too many people that get me worked up like this and there aren't that many people that would be willing to put out shit like this in public LOL. Justin is one of the crazy few... Just remember, if we weren't friends we wouldn't put this shit out. Remember everything is within context of our 5 year friendship so it's hard for any of you guys to form an opinion on me or him. I have a shit ton of footage like this, if you wanna know how i film a lot of my vlogs it's simple, I just press record. 1. Everyday I shoot a vlog i shoot about 110 gb of footage per EACH card. Average of 2-3 cards a day. 2. I have to filter through HOURS of footage because i shoot at 20 some odd minutes at a time with two different cameras. 3. I have a lot of other footage with other people too that aren't HAPPY slice of life but they aren't comfortable with showing that side of them SO I don't publicize it due to their discretion. So when these videos go up they relatively know wussup. 4. Just enjoy the ride. Some conversations are good some aren't that great. With Justin it's pretty damn open.

Secondly, Justin Chon is NOT a good advisor to anyone frankly. He basically took the chance to put down someone's professional youtube career just because that person is seeking to do acting like he does .. its true Justin is really condescending in the way he give advice. You need to respect the person's craft when you're giving advice to him, people in general listens to people who respects them on a human level ... sure occasional some condescending humiliations wakes up the person to push them to work hard and work smart BUT that mostly happens only in movies. 3 lessons : 1) Don't be an asshole now that you know how it feels to be assholed to 2) Don't seek advice from a friend or anyone when you know they have a tendency to take the chance to humiliate you unreservedly to wake you up. You know you're not slack, so avoid such people who are going to see you that way without even asking you what you've been doing ... 3) Respect whoever approaches you for advice, don't assume that everyone needs some sort of wake-up call through your humiliation. Some people just needs encouragements, most of the time its just that little extra confidence booster thats needed...
David is his senior and much bigger as well. Justin has little choice but to be calm. I personally find David to be very talented and unlike Justin, to be very approachable. But I like and support them both

It could be in a church or funeral for crying out loud. *For example, if someone peed or pooped on you in a public restaurant, you would want to beat him up especially if you were wearing a fancy expensive suit.* Ok that example was a bit exaggerated, but I'll give another example where your wife or significant partner reveals to you that they have been cheating on you for years and tells you that you are a loser and a worthless piece of sh*t. Fake or not, I don't agree with either one of them. There's a right way to go about this situation and there's a wrong way, and they both took the 'wrong way' route.
all I can say is......Asian mentality. Asians directly from Asia or Asian communities, especially men, have an egotistic, stubborn way of doing and thinking about things. I think all my Asian sisters and brothers can say there is at least one person in their family who take things a little too far or doesn't listen and process what anyone says and gets mad too easily.
To me, David is a great munipulator. As the conversation started he began swearing to get at Justin's head, which got him angry. As the conversation progresses, Justin becomes aggravated rightfully so and starts to use the same foul language similar to David's. When David realises that he has Justin wrapped around his fingers, he then begins to decrease the amount of swearing he uses. So now Justin is the only one swearing while David sounds like the vicitim or the 'reasonable' person. Then David uses the fact that Justin is swearing as an excuse as to why he doesn't want to speak and get advice from Justin and why he talked to other irrelevant guy and posted a shallow video about the topic. Justin is at his tipping point and David pisses him off one more time by accusing him of always "causing a scene", which causes him to break. David states another comment to Justin's wife about how justin is crazy, kind of a below the belt remark. The video ends and presumably the conversation does too, with David looking like the decent guy while Justin choi looking like some short tempered maniac. David got all the "evidence" he needs about the argument. If this ends up to be fake tho... You guys owe me 3 minutes of my life. 😂😂

+Jamaican Rain It's that he wants to expand though and he says he wants to expand, but then Justin isn't really seeing it because obviously nothing's changed. He says he's doing new stuff, but when asked what that is he can't answer. He just says his subscriber count went up, but Justin has a valid point because nothing's actually changed outside of that. He still makes reaction videos/talk videos about subjects his fans send him and he still does skits. The only real change is that now he has like one music video. So it's understandable why Justin would be frustrated that he's not branching out because he's basically saying one thing and doing another. Obviously I was a fan before and I'm still a fan now, but Justin does have a point. If he wants to branch out then he can still do it without leaving all this stuff behind. Worst case scenario the frequency of his videos changes.

I feel like Justin was sincerely and honestly trying to give you advice and give you input and what successes he had. Well because as little I know David for JKNews he's a person who likes to create material base of how he's viewers are gonna react. Posting this is not -in my opinion- just to keep it "real", he's expecting somethig out of this. With that in mind I think a project where the lines of real and fiction get really blurry might have a lot of reactions and also is an interesting concept.

So I also read the comment where you say you never said you wanted to be an actor. Okay, cool. However, if you have watched these last couple of videos you've posted, you'd understand where our misconception comes from. You told us that you asked Justin for advice when you wanted more help with acting and other stuff because he has a little more experience in that realm. I think Justin is right. The difference between youtube and mainstream media is like the difference between reality TV and drama. Different mediums, different audiences with different expectations. No-one is going to take you seriously in one medium until you have proven yourself and "paid you dues" like everyone else. A crossover is not so simple. And you will always get industry people saying, "hey come and join the party" but you'll still find yourself starting at the bottom like everyone else. You just have to look at Ray William Johnson as a typical case study. One of the biggest youtubers with mainstream aspirations. His success got him all the meetings, got him repped up, he kissed the ring of the big shots, yet his audience are still the people that know him from youtube. And everyday traditional actors/filmmakers overtake him on the career ladder using the traditional route.

I'm so conflicted. I have watched and enjoyed Davids videos and appearance on JKnews for many years. But recently I have seen so many sides of him that I really dislike don't want to support his bad behaviour. On one side he is really funny and really inspiring, but on the other hand he is really stubborn, aggressive, hypocritical and has a huge ego. His behaviour and immature reaction to David has really made me consider to unsubscribe, something I thought I would never do.

The way that I see it, David would like to step into acting and pursue it. He comes from an background of being a creator, which is usually nontraditional, as people usually are actors who become creators. Justin, I believe, came from the more traditional route of being an actor, working his way up through and now is becoming a creator, in terms of RUclips at the moment. Justin is giving David advice in pursuing acting, but does not see David following it precisely; David on the other hand, is using the advice, as guidelines; the advice, or guidelines are really being used more for David's sketches, if I remember correctly. As said, there are different opportunities that each of them has had, different avenues that they have followed. Justin is not seeing his advice being used the way he wants it to, so he thinks he's just talking to a wall. Again, my opinion doesn't really matter, I usually might as well be talking to a wall at this point.
But like aren't they fighting because they actually care about each other's future. Like Justin wouldn't give two shits and wouldn't get hyped up so much of he didn't actually care about David. Friends fight. If they didn't, it would probably be more worrying.

Rewatching this again after david fessed up about his insecurities toward auditioning and how he feels about his acting. Actually just realized the two videos are a year apart. It's good to see that David's been working on Justin's advice and essentially admitting that he was the one at fault during this whole argument thing. I understand that David just wanted to be validated about what he does on youtube is real, hard work and how he felt justin just didn't understand that, being on the opposite side of the entertainment platform. But sometimes I feel like when David's insecure he builds this wall of passive agg, condescending insults mixed with sophisticated words. But he's definitely working on it - it shows from the last video he made.

Personally this is very late lmao but i just decided to check this video out again and the comments as well but tbh if you listen to what david is trying to say is, he IS listening to justin's advice, but he's not gonna do everything justin says. just because someone offers advice doesn't mean someone has to do exactly that, they could take the advice, but that doesn't necessarily mean they have to do it. it's just advice, justin isn't a professional actor so david doesn't have to do what his advice offers. for example, someone comes to me and asks me the best way to eat an apple (weird ik but that's the best example i can come up with rn). i tell them that it is better to peel the skin off with a knife rather than just eating it in slices with the skin or eating it whole with the skin. now that person just received my advice, he/she listened to my advice or whatever i was saying, BUT he/she does not have to eat it the way i prefer to, because either way it's just my preference on how to eat it better. advice is still a form of opinion or preference, it is not necessarily always right or has to always be taken.
David was just bringing stuff out that he felt was necessary. Because when you're "friends" you have to call them out on their shit. David felt like he was belittling him. David is proud of where he is, his fans, his goals, and his trails in getting there. So if this is him saying "I'm proud of what I'm doing now, don't step on that for me" then he should have a right in doing so. But in all honesty, no one commenting on this video has a valid opinion. The young street baller disregards everything the NBA player says because he thinks the NBA player doesn't understand how hard he works at his game for street ball and doesn't understand his vision of getting into the NBA through street ball. He gets offended when the NBA player tells him how he got into the NBA and what he is able to accomplish and sees it as a "dick measuring contest" to what the street baller has accomplished in the streets.
I think you guys get the point now. David is that street baller. I love him to death and I know he has the talent to be successful with the big boys. But sometimes you need to swallow your pride and take in what someone who has done what you want to do and either take the advice or don't. I'm not saying it's impossible to get into an acting career with RUclips, but I do believe taking advice from Justin is a smart thing to do. David's alpha personality is always going to butt heads with advice he doesn't agree with and will take offense to it. The only issue with alpha personality is either they are going to hit it big, or they are going to fall tremendously. - you are wrong. I have taken his advice and I have been auditioning. I booked a pilot where my character got nixed and then the show got cancelled. I had an opportunity on a show that is airing right now but I decided to help develop jknews instead which is a choice i'm very happy with so i said no thank you and stuck with my gut.
2. I don't see where you're career is going.
- What the fuck are you watching right now? Do you know about all the things i'm involved in? NO? didn't think so. I don't have to justify my life based on my social media to make you feel happy about where I'm going LOL.
3. Don't ask for advice if you're not going to follow it.
- Do you think that's what advice is for? For you to follow the shit VERBATIM. As if we're puppets. Advice is asking for conversation on perspective whether you take it or leave it. You take in the stuff that you want and you want it to work for you. You can not get angry at someone for not following YOUR PATH.

I have a shit ton of footage like this, if you wanna know how i film a lot of my vlogs it's simple, I just press record.
1. Everyday I shoot a vlog i shoot about 110 gb of footage per EACH card. Average of 2-3 cards a day.
2. I have to filter through HOURS of footage because i shoot at 20 some odd minutes at a time with two different cameras.
3. I have a lot of other footage with other people too that aren't HAPPY slice of life but they aren't comfortable with showing that side of them SO I don't publicize it due to their discretion. So when these videos go up they relatively know wussup.
4. Just enjoy the ride. Some conversations are good some aren't that great. With Justin it's pretty damn open.

Awkward how david says Justin has a temper but the way David communicates is so condescending. Justin was calm to a point where David Kept dropping the F bomb knowing that it will get a rise out of Justin.
Both of these 2 guys are problematic and wrong frankly ..I'm really enjoying seeing them at each other's neck , I really do, its called Karma man, and Karma's got them there, what a great Karma...
Firstly, David talks shit about other people in a condescending manner all the time when chatting with friends, so its great here to see him getting a taste of his own medicine from his very own buddies. I love to see the shitty guy gets hurt in his ego where it hurts man .. his disrespect, racism, bigotries, supremacisms were all very well hidden by his humor but I've been utterly disgusted when I occasionally got tricked into watching those Justkidding discussions ...
Secondly, Justin Chon is NOT a good advisor to anyone frankly. He basically took the chance to put down someone's professional youtube career just because that person is seeking to do acting like he does .. its true Justin is really condescending in the way he give advice. You need to respect the person's craft when you're giving advice to him, people in general listens to people who respects them on a human level ... sure occasional some condescending humiliations wakes up the person to push them to work hard and work smart BUT that mostly happens only in movies.
3 lessons :
1) Don't be an asshole now that you know how it feels to be assholed to
2) Don't seek advice from a friend or anyone when you know they have a tendency to take the chance to humiliate you unreservedly to wake you up. You know you're not slack, so avoid such people who are going to see you that way without even asking you what you've been doing ...
3) Respect whoever approaches you for advice, don't assume that everyone needs some sort of wake-up call through your humiliation. Some people just needs encouragements, most of the time its just that little extra confidence booster thats needed...
David is his senior and much bigger as well. Justin has little choice but to be calm. I personally find David to be very talented and unlike Justin, to be very approachable. But I like and support them both

To me, David is a great munipulator. As the conversation started he began swearing to get at Justin's head, which got him angry. As the conversation progresses, Justin becomes aggravated rightfully so and starts to use the same foul language similar to David's. When David realises that he has Justin wrapped around his fingers, he then begins to decrease the amount of swearing he uses. So now Justin is the only one swearing while David sounds like the vicitim or the 'reasonable' person. Then David uses the fact that Justin is swearing as an excuse as to why he doesn't want to speak and get advice from Justin and why he talked to other irrelevant guy and posted a shallow video about the topic. Justin is at his tipping point and David pisses him off one more time by accusing him of always "causing a scene", which causes him to break. David states another comment to Justin's wife about how justin is crazy, kind of a below the belt remark. The video ends and presumably the conversation does too, with David looking like the decent guy while Justin choi looking like some short tempered maniac. David got all the "evidence" he needs about the argument. If this ends up to be fake tho... You guys owe me 3 minutes of my life. 😂😂

First of all this one and the last one, these really don't need to go online man, keep between yourself. Also c'mon he's got a few points. Yeah your subscribers have grown but what about your content man? The videos haven't changed all that much. And then you're asking advice on how to become a better actor, Justin's giving you advice. There's nothing wrong with choosing any of those options. However, if you do wanna become an actor or do something "bigger," you can take a break off RUclips and go try your best out there. I think Justin is right. The difference between youtube and mainstream media is like the difference between reality TV and drama. Different mediums, different audiences with different expectations. No-one is going to take you seriously in one medium until you have proven yourself and "paid you dues" like everyone else. A crossover is not so simple. And you will always get industry people saying, "hey come and join the party" but you'll still find yourself starting at the bottom like everyone else.
You just have to look at Ray William Johnson as a typical case study. One of the biggest youtubers with mainstream aspirations. His success got him all the meetings, got him repped up, he kissed the ring of the big shots, yet his audience are still the people that know him from youtube. And everyday traditional actors/filmmakers overtake him on the career ladder using the traditional route.

I'm so conflicted. I have watched and enjoyed Davids videos and appearance on JKnews for many years. But recently I have seen so many sides of him that I really dislike don't want to support his bad behaviour. On one side he is really funny and really inspiring, but on the other hand he is really stubborn, aggressive, hypocritical and has a huge ego. His behaviour and immature reaction to David has really made me consider to unsubscribe, something I thought I would never do.

1. Just because you ask for advice doesn't mean you HAVE to do what they say. You hear their point of view and then YOU decide whether it's right for you. It's just getting multiple perspective.
2. I agree with David when he says he doesn't want to put his failures out there. On RUclips when people say they don't like him it's easy to throw their comments out and forget but when you're auditioning for a job and casting directors are saying they don't like you because of this, this, and that and you're not right for the part to your face... it's different

The way that I see it, David would like to step into acting and pursue it. He comes from an background of being a creator, which is usually nontraditional, as people usually are actors who become creators. Justin, I believe, came from the more traditional route of being an actor, working his way up through and now is becoming a creator, in terms of RUclips at the moment. Justin is giving David advice in pursuing acting, but does not see David following it precisely; David on the other hand, is using the advice, as guidelines; the advice, or guidelines are really being used more for David's sketches, if I remember correctly. As said, there are different opportunities that each of them has had, different avenues that they have followed. Justin is not seeing his advice being used the way he wants it to, so he thinks he's just talking to a wall. Again, my opinion doesn't really matter, I usually might as well be talking to a wall at this point.
But like aren't they fighting because they actually care about each other's future. Like Justin wouldn't give two shits and wouldn't get hyped up so much of he didn't actually care about David. Friends fight. If they didn't, it would probably be more worrying.

DAVID DOES NOT NEED TO FEEL OBLIGATED TO EXPLORE OR GIVE FANS WHAT THEY WANT. I'm a fan and I like to see David create his own content and do projects that he genuinely loves to do. If he is on a TV show that would be great if he is happy doing it but I feel that limits his creativity and that is just not David if he just becomes a straight up actor. David is who he is because he creates his own shit.
PROBLEM WITH JUSTIN:
Justin speaks about his experiences because he believes that it will give David some sort of perspective but he doesn't realize that he does it SOOO MUCH that it comes off the wrong way even though he doesn't mean to.
Justin doesn't fully understand the work that David puts in his stand up comedies, his skits, his WORK. He asks, do you ever put your insecurities and stuff for people to judge. HELL YEAH DAVID DOES!! Thats what you have to do in order to do standup...you have to be able to put yourself out there, make fun of yourself first before you can make fun of other things. David is constantly judge for what he says because its his reallll opinion and that is what he does.
Justin's idea of where David "should" be is WRONG. I believe he thinks that David is asking for acting advice because he wants to become an ACTOR and go the same route as he is (hence seeing him as a mentor). But that is WRONG. He is clearlyyy NOT listening to David and understanding what route David wants to take to reach HIS GOALS. In his mind its like... asking me for advice = you want to become an actor = therefore, acting classes = auditions = ACTOR.

Rewatching this again after david fessed up about his insecurities toward auditioning and how he feels about his acting. Actually just realized the two videos are a year apart. It's good to see that David's been working on Justin's advice and essentially admitting that he was the one at fault during this whole argument thing. I understand that David just wanted to be validated about what he does on youtube is real, hard work and how he felt justin just didn't understand that, being on the opposite side of the entertainment platform. But sometimes I feel like when David's insecure he builds this wall of passive agg, condescending insults mixed with sophisticated words. But he's definitely working on it - it shows from the last video he made.
Y'all seriously need to chill he's showing us what he deals with and the fact he said he can't just walk from RUclips because of us his fans that means a lot and he clearly doesn't feel like he can leave us and y'all need to understand he's a normal person so David I appreciate the work and everything you've done so far keep on going

everything justin says. just because someone offers advice doesn't mean
someone has to do exactly that, they could take the advice, but that
doesn't necessarily mean they have to do it. it's just advice, justin
isn't a professional actor so david doesn't have to do what his advice
offers. for example, someone comes to me and asks me the best way to eat
an apple (weird ik but that's the best example i can come up with rn). i
tell them that it is better to peel the skin off with a knife rather
than just eating it in slices with the skin or eating it whole with the
skin. now that person just received my advice, he/she listened to my
advice or whatever i was saying, BUT he/she does not have to eat it the
way i prefer to, because either way it's just my preference on how to
eat it better. advice is still a form of opinion or preference, it is
not necessarily always right or has to always be taken.

David was just bringing stuff out that he felt was necessary. Because when you're "friends" you have to call them out on their shit. David felt like he was belittling him. David is proud of where he is, his fans, his goals, and his trails in getting there. So if this is him saying "I'm proud of what I'm doing now, don't step on that for me" then he should have a right in doing so. But in all honesty, no one commenting on this video has a valid opinion. Not even me so just take it as it is and continue supporting him if you'd like.
