I'm kinda curious on choosing this spot for a base. Maybe if/when you migrate to another location or complete this map, if you could give your thoughts on the pros and cons to each of your chosen base locations with the benefit of hindsight? I know that is still some time away, but I just thought it would be a neat brainstorm for an idea down the road.

Hey Phlinger! Just started watching your shadowmane prep vid. Been a subscriber for a while now but haven't commented before. Great content man, fantastic, really enjoyable! I watched another video on taming shadowmanes, in which the dude doing it said you could only tame them with a gillie suit and baskets of lots of good fish sneakily while their sleeping! He also said you have to back up sneaking after each basket and then run because they'll wake up and go looking for you every time you do it! They don't sleep long either so watch out! Hope this helps! 😁👍
I did not know you could release the fish after being trapped and they be tamed…. Mind blown!!!
heres a fishing TIP
throw down the wooden cage (the prison one) on top of any fish and it cant move
if you throw it down on top of the fish and the basket right after, youll get the fish
and recover the "jail" (tent might work too? but ive only ever done the cage way)

hey phlinger you should look into the relationship between the strider and the tek storage boxes it will be usefull
So I guess since you used tek bow before the patch you can still use it?

Stand in the water between the basket and the piranha, then they will bite you and not break the basket but they are still close enough to trap

I have a ton of tek bows but I can't use them. Is there a trick to being able to use them??

For some reason when I try to play on single player. I can't tame the knock out tames cause the food won't drain, is there a way to fix that?
How is he using the tek bow without learning the engram?

Would using a rare flower make fish basket fishing easier?
For max taming effectiveness Phlinger, 1.5 quality fish or better. At a minimum, 1.0. Anything less is like giving raw meat to a rex.
I know you can net a Quets and Mammoth, and Thylo's, not sure about Rex or Allo yet

You're never gonna ridea thyla again. Gl for when you go out to grab them. Also just a tip don't tame them in packs, it is way too hard I might've died just a few times from that.
Is your aim still to do each of the bosses on the maps? Has your ultimate goal changed with the release of Gen 2?
I think he is just excited for gen2, and will eventually go back to boss hunting etc
How are you still able to use the Tek bow? You are not level 116 so you should not be able to use it.

Do the stryders recharge on their own?
I think you can set them on recharge and then they recharge slowly
I got a strider with emp and chest cannon don’t care it’s level 15 it’s more about the parts
I haven't watched the whole video so maybe youll get to this later, but you might be able to upload all sorts of heavy resources into a mission terminal/tamed stryder and download them at the stryder at your base
Why are you finding so many 140s and 150s? I have the same normal level stats but the highest level I’ve found was a 120? Should I do a dinowipe?
The standard max level in gen2 is 120 like the island, you need OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5 in gameusersettings.ini for max lvl 150 and then a dinowipe
On console you have to set difficulty to 1 and check the max difficulty box to get 150 dinos.

If I fly over from one side to the other where ur base is it always kicks me out of game on Xbox. I always use the nets now there great

As much as i enjoy this game, it still irritates me that theres no NPCs to interact with, despite all the evidence that says there were at one point. (Ruins and explorer notes) now im not saying make a tone of em, but it would be nice to have a small tribe somewhere, thats not hostile unless you are first. Just for ambience, and to make the game not feel so empty. Better still if there's a trader. I know lots of you will say "thats what online play is for", but that Still leaves Solo play a bit... Empty.
