Just like Uncle Roger said, Jamie saw sambal and bought the closest thing possible and it's chilli jam. Jamie saw peanut paste and bought the closest thing he can find, peanut butter.
He heard cashews go into the gravy and thought the curry made out of cashew butter.
They put like 5-6 cashews to add an extra layer of richness. He put in 30 cashews worth of cashew butter and no actual butter.
as an indonesian, and a proud "gado gado" lover, the amount of rage i gotta hold watching jamie olive oil making "gado gado" is beyond my limit.

@@hovi3450peanuts butter and peanut paste is 2 whole things. Sate, gado2, pecel and every similar peanut sauce based on peanut paste, made from roasted peanut + water. Even its taste different, peanuts butter tastes like jam but peanut pastes more like sauce

Jokes aside, home made chili jam is awesome. I personally make it every fall with caramelized onions, very little sugar and extremely hot. It will put some hair on your chest, mark my word!

Gado-gado is suppose to be cold (well not exactly cold, more like room temperature but i also like it cold) coz it's made with pre-cooked ingredient most of them is just braised. With gado-gado its not cooking more like assembling.

Mango chutney is actually really good i eat it with roti (chapati) or with rice
It tastes good you can even use it as jam on a slice of bread but that doesn't mean you can throw it in every dish you cook
