Ευχαριστώ πολύ for this video, Costas. I love pre-Hispanic American history.
Also, after the conquest, Incans and the native tribes subjugated by the Inca Empire (many of which fought alongside the Spaniards during the conquest, like the Cañari, Chankas, Huancas, etc.) were then integrated into Spanish society.
Laws were passed to protect the natives of the newly conquered lands: the 1512 "Laws of Burgos", and the 1542 "New Laws". Nevertheless, two years after the New Laws were passed, in 1544, many encomenderos tried to resist them. This revolt was called the "Gran Rebelión de encomenderos". However, the laws were еnfоrсеd and all of the Spaniards who refused to follow them (including the brother of Francisco Pizarro, Gonzalo Pizarro) were sеntеnсеd to dеаth.
The Inca nobility became part of the Spanish court and were allowed to keep their holdings, terrains and workers; as well as being granted new titles in Spain. For instance, the sister of Atahualpa, whose name was Quispe (later baptised as "Inés" by the Spaniards), married Francisco Pizarro. The descendants of their 5 children live in Spain and most of them keep their titles.
