Thanks for watching and commenting, Box Farts! 📦💨 I’m so excited too, although with the current shipping crisis I wonder how long it’ll be until we get the game! The cave painting expansion does look pretty awesome!
Nice video there Dave !!! Already bought the game without testing it yet ! I’m more excited to play it now !!! Just subscribed to your channel too ! Nice channel !!
Thank you so much, André!! I’m so glad you’ve also bought the game! I’m beyond excited for it… as you can probably tell! 😅 I appreciate you subscribing; I’ll try to keep the good videos coming!
That River expansion looks cool. Might have to check that out. Ancestors is an essential expansion imo; while it doesn't make the endgame tighter, the new cards allow for more advanced scoring strategies and thus fixes most of the replay value issues. ( I have it) The 3 modules that come with the base game are solid. As for the cave painting and the other ones, I feel like they should have been streamlined into the base game instead of that awful monolith mechanic. Now they just look like more mechanics added in for the sake of extra stuff.
I remember enjoying the Rivers & Rafts expansion on TTS! I have yet to incorporate the Ancestors cards in person but I really like those tribe and animal cards! I'm not sure what you mean about the monolith mechanic... I think the cave painting one is definitely well-integrated into the rest of the game!
@@BoardGameDave The monolith mechanic feels like an afterthought. An extra minigame with no thematic ties to anything else going on. Unlike the area control and totem track. Very Stefan Feld 'ish and I don't like it.
@@stefansibbes2440 Interesting! I know from being a part of early playtesting that it was a fundamental part of the game early on but I could see how it could seem like an afterthought! I'm glad you like Endless Winter as a whole, though!
@@BoardGameDave thanks. Btw on BGG I hear many suggestions to play the first two rounds with only two workers. Aside from shortening the game lenght, you also lose the feeling you can do everything every game and have to focus your strategies more. Normally I only play games as intended by the designer and don't pay attention to made up variants, however I like the sound of this. Infact even the designer is considering making this an official variant I heard. Do you have any thoughts on this? Cheers
@@stefansibbes2440 I understand why people would play that way! I know my friend Connor felt like he could do too much early in the game! All I know is that they're having people playtest that variant to get feedback on it-I don't see why that wouldn't be an optional variant if you wanted a shorter, tighter game! ☺
this was an awesome overview, thanks !
Thank you so much for checking it out! ☺️
Thanks for the content. I can't wait to get my copy. I am most excited about the cave painting expansion as well.

Nice job man. I can see your passion for the game. Does it play solo?
It has a really great solo mode, Mike! You’d love it! I gave it a few tries and it was cool! 🥶
