Trevor...YOU ROCK! I have lived on Dundas just north of Bloor for 40 years and you BLEW MY MIND with this video. Love your time traveler outfit and TTC vehicle collection brother. I saw my flippin' house, lol. Big salute to Evans Realty. Cheers to you, Chris.
Really great work on this Trevor. At 1:17 did the street car turn left at Gilmour, from Dundas, left on St. Johns Rd then right on Fairview to end at Western Tech?
I really enjoyed your video. I work in the Junction so its cool to see the old images and compare them to what the area used to look like and what it is now. The Junction has a very interesting past. Nice work!
My parents grew up near Runnymede and Henrietta. This must have been how their neighbourhood looked like ( the old film footage ) when they lived there in the 1940's and 50's.
Love the video!!! Fantastic editing! Have you considered adding map overlays in your videos? I love seeing how transit lines and streets have evolved diagramatically over the years! Keep up the fantastic stuff. Patreon when?
Fantastic job! Great approach and fantastic editing as well! Hope u r able to hit different neighbourhood of Toronto, like Willowdale, and maybe some small towns as well! Best of luck!
Great video and music! And both my first and last name were used in the video as well 😂. We love the junction, thanks for showing the past/present comparisons.
So many people take stills and videos of Toronto now:- it was much different in the "not so good old days"! You needed to be much more subversive with your camera hidden in a big pocket in your coat or in a handbag and you snapped a picture quickly and left in a hurry:- if the police or even a suspicious person saw you they would demand to know if you were a "spy" etc or a "criminal" "casing a joint" for a "hold-up job" or even somehow making "porno pictures":- it was definitely "Toronto the Stupid" back then!:- a third-rate "police state". If you were a teenager interested in chemistry and you borrowed a chem book from the public library the librarian would want to know if you were planning to start a "drug lab" at home and produce LSD and if your IQ was a bit too high "for your own good" all the dolts in charge would treat you like a "public enemy". It also did not help if you were a "dago", "wop", "dumb polak", "honky", "chink", "nip", "hebe", "paki", "raghead", "nigger", "import", etc. Toronto:- yuk, you can have it, I'm glad I don't live there in "Stooopid City" anymore!
Yes basically. When the owners wish to demolish and redevelop a building, but were prevented by a heritage designation, they would often demolish it under the cover of night, to at least make it unrecoverable. Of course, this was illegal, but they would willingly plead guilty and pay the minimal fine. The fine was a small inconvenience cost, which then allowed them to proceed with their planned development.
Thanks for the memories, as a kid, I rode on those Dundas electric rail buses with the dual contacts, very unique. Used them in conjunction with the streetcar to get to Chinatown.
Oh my ancient history

How do you illegally demolish a building? Hit and run with a bulldozer?
