Sweet to hear what sounds like your family fire buffing together, the kid loves it. So cute! 2:57 - Ladder 116 going British style; left around a roundabout!
My son is already a huge fire buff at age 7, and he's gotten us into it! Love that you saw our video. Your channel is on the short list of channels that sparked his interest several years ago! When we saw ladder 116 that day, we were on Roosevelt Island just to see special units in the parking lot, and we got a nice bonus with them responding to a call on our way back to the tram!
@TripleJFire That's absolutely awesome! Start young, I say! Glad to know I could've been of help. :) That's a pretty cool bonus as not often you get non-special responses there.
we hear quite often on the scanner units getting sent 10-8 because they're delayed in traffic. I'm not sure which is worse, midtown or bad accidents on the highways! No shoulders = parking lot
8:54 I remember a complex fire in Wildwood NJ and upon arrival this E-One Quint blasted us but for a long honk. It’s amazing how quickly the brain gets startled!
Makes me pretty sad not seeing the old rigs anymore. Loved hearing the iconic PA300 with the classic Federal blowing through downtown NYC. They must’ve finally got rid of all the old stuff and replaced it.
I don't think I've been here long enough to realize quite what I've missed! Though I just listened to a demo of the PA300 and am wondering if that's what they've still got on MERV and/or one of the spare ladders.
Here I think there's always the element of "don't mow down the pedestrians", and you'd be surprised how many people cross the street with emergency vehicles coming 🤪

Really nice videos. Before I say anything else, im 13. My age is important in this comment, your son’s name is Jordan, nice, I saw from the clip “Jordan, Squad 288!” Also you sound really young to be a father, im guessing your the dad because you sound like my 11 year old self. If little Jordan gets a deep voice around my age, tell him to let you know if anyone is making fun of his voice or laughing at him about it. I’m 13 as I said, 7th grade. I have a really deep voice and a lot of people call me an old man and shit, last night I was at my towns 8- alarm fire. I work as a explorer in Piermont, NY, I know the chief really well so I’m trained for big calls, as I said I was at the 8 alarm, I was responding while I get a call from my girl friends (regular friends) and I started talking to them in a sleepy deep voice, I then screen record and head out to help out EMS and later I look at the recording and they are making fun of my voice. I just said all of that just for a future reference.

I can’t believe people would make fun of you for having a deep voice-or, well, I can because I remember how brutal middle schoolers can be. I promise most people get nicer as they get older. here's one thing I bet drivers would like to know. If I'm at a red light and a fire unit's blasting his horn, does that give me the right to cross a red light to help them make it to their location on time? OR am I supposed to stay in place and not move?
I tried to look into this because I’ve thought about it before and your comment got me thinking about it again. I can’t find anything! I do know that the rigs have a device that interacts with a sensor on the traffic lights to change their lights to green. So in most cases maybe it’s a moot point since the light will be green and you’d just try to pull off to the right as usual (which is easier said than done here!).
