I love this! I think it will bring a more professional look to my apps. How granular can you get with the properties of each tab item? For example, are you able to show/hide items within the tabs based on other factors/variables such as person logged in? I'll be having a play about and see how far I can go! Cheers as always.

Reza, great video was always, thank you so much. Question: for same screen tabs, which is better? Setting a variable for visibility of other objects using the collection or table on the table itself, or setting the visibility of the object itself using an If tab is selected function (based on one of the table or collection fields)? Or maybe it doesn't matter? I have a gallery with several hundred items, and I have set the items property differently based on the tab selected (same screen app), as well as the visibility using an IF function based on the table selected. It feels a little glitchy but it works. Wasn't sure if there was a better way to do this. Thank you.

I just realized today that I could conditionally set the items property on the gallery based on a modern tab selected. This is great, opens up a lot of possibilities for preset views instead of individual filters! I noticed the new calendar template screen recently as well, that they set the visibility of those objects not based on if functions, but based on variables. It felt smoother. I wasn't sure if variables maybe had less of a data crunch on call back when combined with the gallery / items usage. Combining multiple concepts at once :-) thanks again for the great videos!
This is awesome Reza, I know these are in preview and they will keep enhancing the control - it would be nice to control the Color and Fill property of this control for apps that use Light and Dark theming. Do you know if the ITEMS property supports a sql view or table outside of a collection?

First of all, thank you very much for showing this splendid usage of Tabs control! :) However, I have one question: I wanted to dynamically disable some elements of my flyout menu based on where it is called from. I added the field IsEnabled to my collection and thought thar I could simply write following in DisplayMode property: If(Self.Selected.IsEnabled; DisplayMode.View; DisplayMode.Disabled). However, it does not seem to work. What am I doing wrong? Thank you very much in advance for your input! :)

Hi Reza Excellent Video as always, I have one question - after adding the tab menu into a component, when going through pages it adds an additional menu item to the menu for the page you are on very strange i removed the defaultselecteditems code LookUp(MenuTabItems,Screen = App.ActiveScreen) and then it stops duplicating the menu item, do you have any tips to resolve this behavior?

I am having the same issue. It is now duplicating the "Home" tab at the very end. That's really strange, since I created the feature exactly how you instructed. I've been looking to find what, if at all, I may have done wrong before implementing a a fix. Any insight into this? I really like this component and I had planned on using this throughout a really big app I have been developing.

@@RezaDorraniNo problem, I was able to fix it. I just deleted the tablist and then added the two navigation items to the collection. So when adding anything to the collection after you have already created and wired to the tablist, it can cause problems and for me it was duplicating the home tab at the end.

Additionally, in the 'DefaultSelectedItems' property, I have a variable called '_defaultMenu'. When I enter the form or page, in the 'OnVisible' property, I change the variable '_defaultMenu' using the following statement: 'Set(_defaultMenu, ["menu1"])'. However, this is not working, as the tab control does not switch to 'menu1'. Please your help. Thanks!

@@RezaDorrani I tried it, but unfortunately, on my screens, the navigation names appear twice. For example, when I'm on the Home screen, I see my three navigation points and then Home again. I’m not sure how to solve this problem. When I set `DefaultSelectedItems = Blank()` in the Tablist within the component, the duplication is gone, but then the navigation doesn't work correctly anymore, and it always jumps back to Home. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Is it possible to make parts of the tab visible based on choices a user selects in a different field? I have an assessment app that I'm testing the tab list on, data model: assessment types (lookup) >> assessment sections (lookup) >> assessment criteria (lookup). Tab List items property is link to my assessment section collection which is filtered based on the selected assessment type. On my gallery I'm displaying my assessment criteria, currently it displays all criteria instead of displaying based on the selected tab (assessment section). Please advise, how do I ensure that criteria is displayed based on the selected section. Thank you.

Love this new option however, we can't use it at my work because it is not accessible/508 compliant. The font is too small and screen readers are not seeing it just yet. Hopefully, they will update it soon! Thanks for this video!

Is it just me or was there an update that now automatically sorts the tabs alphabetically? It just started doing this in my app. I’ve tried to Sort the collection in the Items property can’t seem to get this fixed. Thank you.
@@RezaDorrani thank you. Custom sort works if I just have a collection of tabs w text but once I try adding the Action, and Screen properties, it sorts automatically. Guess I’ll just use text labels and an IF statement in the OnSelect property instead of the previous method until I can get that resolved. Thank you.
Love the idea of using the control as an overflow menu! Since we're using preview features anyway, I assume we could also use Named Formulas to store the tab data, instead of using OnStart?

It works first time correctly, but once i click on second link and go to first link again, it automatically adds first link again to the menu. So there will be total 3 links appearing. Not sure what wrong I am doing.

How did you figure out the hack of tab control inside gallery for flyout menu? Just simple and incredible at the same time.
I was literally playing around with tab list control and noticed that width reduction opens flyout menu and that’s when I got the light 💡 moment.

I have one question - after adding the tab menu into a component, when going through pages it adds an additional menu item to the menu for the page you are on very strange i removed the defaultselecteditems code LookUp(MenuTabItems,Screen = App.ActiveScreen) and then it stops duplicating the menu item, do you have any tips to resolve this behavior?

I am having the same issue. It is now duplicating the "Home" tab at the very end. That's really strange, since I created the feature exactly how you instructed. I've been looking to find what, if at all, I may have done wrong before implementing a a fix. Any insight into this? I really like this component and I had planned on using this throughout a really big app I have been developing.
@@JoseMTamez I have not experienced the issue hence cannot know what the solution is. My next video is also on navigation and I use similar tab control. You can check that one coming next week.
@@RezaDorraniNo problem, I was able to fix it. I just deleted the tablist and then added the two navigation items to the collection. So when adding anything to the collection after you have already created and wired to the tablist, it can cause problems and for me it was duplicating the home tab at the end.
Thank you for the tutorial. I am working on a similar menu, but I need to reset the control or go back to option 1. However, many of the new modern controls don't have the "Reset" property. How can I reset the value in these new modern controls?

Drive defaultselecteditems of control using a variable. Update variable when you want to reset. Something on those lines.

@@RezaDorrani I tried it, but unfortunately, on my screens, the navigation names appear twice. For example, when I'm on the Home screen, I see my three navigation points and then Home again. I’m not sure how to solve this problem. When I set `DefaultSelectedItems = Blank()` in the Tablist within the component, the duplication is gone, but then the navigation doesn't work correctly anymore, and it always jumps back to Home.

Great video! I don't see the advantage of these modern controls though. Wouldn't it be easier to do use the ordinary buttons? Is it just a different design?
Try creating a tab like navigation or fly out menu with classic controls.

Hello Reza Dorrani Sir!! Hope you are doing well!!I I am reaching out to you for your thoughts on the below problem!! I have a word template which have Repeated table. Using this word template i am creating a word document. All the 40 rows of the table are appearing in word doc but when converting the word doc to pdf only one row is appearing and rest 39 are vanished. Please help me with the solution.

Is it possible to make parts of the tab visible based on choices a user selects in a different field? For example, if I have 5 tabs, including a "home" screen, can I enable only 1 of the 5 tabs based on the answer to another question e.g. "what products do you require" - and based on that the respective product tabs appear

Tab data loads in a collection. So should be possible but not something I have tried.

I have an assessment app that I'm testing the tab list on, data model: assessment types (lookup) >> assessment sections (lookup) >> assessment criteria (lookup). Tab List items property is link to my assessment section collection which is filtered based on the selected assessment type. On my gallery I'm displaying my assessment criteria, currently it displays all criteria instead of displaying based on the selected tab (assessment section). Please advise, how do I ensure that criteria is displayed based on the selected section. Thank you.

Love this new option however, we can't use it at my work because it is not accessible/508 compliant. The font is too small and screen readers are not seeing it just yet. Hopefully, they will update it soon! Thanks for this video!

Is it just me or was there an update that now automatically sorts the tabs alphabetically? It just started doing this in my app. I’ve tried to Sort the collection in the Items property can’t seem to get this fixed. Thank you.
Might very well be an update, but I’m not aware of this.
@@RezaDorrani thank you. Custom sort works if I just have a collection of tabs w text but once I try adding the Action, and Screen properties, it sorts automatically. Guess I’ll just use text labels and an IF statement in the OnSelect property instead of the previous method until I can get that resolved. Thank you.

You could load data in a collection (collection would drive the navigation) based on user roles.

I am not sure what I’m doing wrong, but if I follow this, I get the first argument of navigate should be a control or screen and nothing I seem to do will get past that error

It works first time correctly, but once i click on second link and go to first link again, it automatically adds first link again to the menu. So there will be total 3 links appearing. Not sure what wrong I am doing.
