As far as I know, they did issue a software update for it. We will only know for sure when we get the real cold weather, though. Mechanically, it's the same as 2024 (no battery heater).
@AUTOTVO Thanks. Unfortunately the software update does nothing at all. Reducing the Charge current at the end of charging so it charges longer does not compensate for the drop in Temperature. These Vehicles need a Battery Heater, all EV Batteries require a Battery Heater. Mitsubishi really dropped the ball with the 2023, 2024 and 2025 Heat Pumps are more efficient but are useless at -14'C and at -15'C it shuts off. We also need a Resistive Cab Heater for Colder Climates. But we don't think that Mitsubishi Motors is listening even with a Class Action Lawsuit having been filed in Canada and another in the USA. The Outlander PHEV used to be second to none. Now I dread the thought of driving my 2024 when the Temperature hits -25'C and lower as it will drop to on Weds, Thurs and Fri. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba Just check the weather App to see what I mean
I understand your frustration! It's definitely a challenge when the technology doesn't meet our expectations, especially in extreme temperatures. Let’s hope Mitsubishi addresses these issues soon! Will try to ask Mitsubishi to see what they answer and will come back to this thread and reply!
Has the Cold weather issue been resolved with this new model?
