    As some others have said, this song is actually about the Mimic imitating Afton. However, what I love is that they tease it all throughout the song, up to the big reveal. In fact, they tease it with the very first frame: all appearances of the Mimic have it with orange eyes, and Springtrap with white. And if you look at the first frame, you see the eyes are orange.

    Oh, you want creepy with FNAF (without the jumpscares)? Read some of the books - shit gets _wild._ Lots of the stuff in the visuals for this video actually reference stuff that has only been in the books, and it's kinda crazy how many little references you pick up when you're familiar with them.

    I feel like the games need a moment in them as bleak as the moment in the visuals with the mimic standing over that victim or William leading that kid to the back room to really achieve the scary status that it wants to. A lot of the fan content surrounding the games feel better/scarier than the real thing because they actually show off that part of the lore. It's actually hilariously ironic that the games have never really tried to use the bread part of the lore in the games but other unofficial sources have.

    The song is in 7/4 but JT really leaned into the offputting nature of the character, and made the 7/4 feel all over the place. Might be my favourite song from them, by far rhythmically.

    This song is super beautiful.
    The name has multiple meanings.
    Reflection as in the reflecting of what Afton has done over his life but with it also being about the mimic also makes reflection mean an odd copy. It’s LIKE Afton but it’s not exactly him.

  • @Thekrineyesyes
    @Thekrineyesyes 3 месяца назад +2

    At 4:51, you werent far off. it is him staring at a reflection of himself, but the reflection is a dangerous code known as the mimic. Springtrap is dead, but his pain and memories was mixed with the mimic code in the in-game universe fnaf vr development. The animatronic we run from at the end of ruin is the physical form of the mimic.

    The song is about the horror's of the past that involved Springtrap and the slender robot called the mimic trying to recreate and modernized the horror's from the old pizza chains to help mimic the violence projected on it.

    I watched the music myself before this. The visuals are really good and so are the lyrics, but I had to pause the music video to actually read and understand the lyrics. Here's what I gathered what the song is saying. This post contains spoilers to FNAF Security Breach: Ruin. There is also a lot:
    At first it shows Springtrap (aka William Afton, the first antagonist in fnaf), which is saying his thoughts on what's he's become. He's a monster. Yet he explains that if you don't like what you see in the mirror, than it's just a reflection on how you feel about yourself. During the both the first verse and first time the chorus is shown, you can tell something is off, from parts of Afton's backstory being replaced with something else and Aftons reflection being replaced with Glitchtrap, which is just a digital version of him and not the actual person. A "Reflection" if you will. The second part of the song reveals what is actually happening. The Mimic, the new antagonist in fnaf, has shown that it's just been mimicing Afton. This of course is first actually shown visually at 5:27 , where Springtrap has white eyes, and the Mimic as his reflection (with red/orange eyes). the reflection of him is the only one glitching in this, even glitching to it's true form at 5:32 . In the last verse and chorus, the Mimic is of course says that he has been decieving you. "A child cried wolf" is emphasizing that he tricked you in Security Breach: Ruin. It explains that it was trapped by MXES (pronounced "mexes" and shown at 6:50 ) and despite thinking you've trapped him, you've only helped free him (This is Mimic speaking to Cassie. Cassie was trying to free Gregory, but the Mimic tricked her into thinking the Mimic was Gregory. It manipulated her into freeing it). "Just like a virus in your system, I've corrupted it" means that he has used the Vanny mask that you used in the game to mimic and currupt your perception, which shown in the Brazil ending, where you use the mask as one final attempt to escape, but it shows Gregory being okay and eating ice cream with helpy (This is a reference to the movie called Brazil, where you are so scared of what is real that you mistake what is fake for reality). The image of Helpy that changed could be symbolism of the Mimic corrupting Helpy as well (which is how the Mimic can tell you to free him), or it could also show the theory of Helpy being the virtual representation of the Mimic. The song ends with "Now I'm the real one, you're the reflection!" this shows how far it is hard to tell that the Mimic is not actually William Afton.
    A little context to who the Mimic is if you don't know: It originally appeared in the "Tales of the Pizzaplex" book series. An engineer for Fazbear Entertainment is unable to watch his son David, constructs a robot meant to mimic the boy in order to better adjust to the boy's thought process. The Mimic starts to learn to imitate what David does really quickly, so Edwin increases it's mobility by giving it legs. at least until the Mimic gets into trouble by using the old costumes sent by Fazbear Entertainment to play with the boy. Later in the story, the son gets killed by a wreckless driver. The Mimic doesn't stop from imitating the boy, even after death. frustrated by this, Edwin attacks it with a metal rod, only to stop as he starts to realise his own self hatred. Some time passes and a crew from Fazbear Entertainment come to pick up whatever projects Edwin had, only to see the Mimic. after reactivating the Mimic's mobility by putting unused endo legs on it, the Mimic brutally murders all of them, imitating the violence Edwin showed. Then it puts one of them in the fridge and hangs another in the closet, mimicing what it saw when it was with Edwin and David. While the Mimic in Tales of the Pizzaplex and Ruin are similar, what they learned was different. The Mimic in the books learned from David and his father, while the Mimic in Ruin learned from a digitalized version of William Afton

      @@DiveroftheDepths55 Well, for one Glitchtrap has *literal memories from Ultimate Custom Night, shown in PQ ending ending HW2 and Charlie’s death, AND the death of his youngest son, which the first one is certainly something the mimic would not know about* and also he’s seen to be an opposing force against mimic shown in Ruin. Yes I think he’s using the Mimic in someway but for his own benefit. What makes no sense to me is how an Endoskeleton can absorb all of his exact personality traits even things that are private. Geez, just let people have their own opinions. Mimic fans get too out of hand.

      @@artbyphobia I mean. All of this got explained in the books and games. The Mimic knows these things because FNaF1-UCN, while being real events that happened, were also Indie Games Fazbear Entertainment made. Also, consider the fact that Glitchtrap doesn't just "know" those voice lines, he's outright mimicking them. If you're talking about The Entity in RUIN, the entire point of it was that it's the MXES system keeping the Mimic trapped, and that it being a rabbit was a bait and switch. The game even outright calls The Entity an "Anti-Virus", and not a virus like Glitchtrap
