Thank you. This was very helpful. My dog had a seizure for the first time ever today and I didn’t know what to do. I panicked and thought he was dying. I rushed my puggle to the vet afterwards. His name is Ragnar. He is doing good now. It was the scariest experience. My dog is my world. I pray it doesn’t happen again, but if it does I will take your advice. Thank you!!!💕

Happened to me for the first time too. It was soooo scary I panicked too. Going to see the vet tmr wish me luck.
I saw this late, i was breaking down I never had my dogs had seizure before. I was crying my eye out :(

Same thing happened to me tonight, he’s sleeping now but it took me a minute to calm him down, I thought he was dying🥺
What if your vet won’t take a payment plan 😢 sitting here watching my 11 year old black lab have seizures for a week now tried every home remedy and looking on Amazon.
Sometimes they don't do much for senior dogs. Just love them. I hope your friend is ok:)

Im wondering the same thing. My dog was cuddling me just now, yelped and jerked real hart but just 2 jolts, and immediately went limp and for like a full minute or 2. Like paralyzed from the ears down, only blinking and responding when I did got touched her mouth. Then she just popped up looking curious/fine
My dog has been shaking for about 10 minutes I think it's a seizure what do I do for eyes are very dilated and freezing labor

What do I do when my dog is having a seizure her eyes are dilated
My dog has had a few seizures now, either in the morning when I let her outside or when she's falling asleep. When she's having a night one, she cries out like she's in distress. Her body freezes up, almost like she's died. The one last night was scary since I was able to get her up but she was out of it and she had peed herself. They are irregular when they occur, I've had her for about one year now and have seen her have four total lasting a couple of minutes each.
Could be epilepsy... take her to the vet. There a Medications to reduce the seizures and increase the quality of her live :) stay calm - i wish you two all the best!
For mine it helped when i closed the Window Shutters and turnend off the tv/Radio. Just sat there in the dark and be there, so she calmed down.

My french poodle has had two seizures but he pees and poops himself when he gets a seizure and I havent seen any other dogs do that
depends if it’s genetic. certain types of seizures cause uncontrollable dedication & peeing. it’s not rare.

my dog had been breathing heavily right before she started twitching and not waking up. could this have caused the oxygen supply in her brain to be low?

Beautiful
But seizures aren't just a matter of oxygen....they're an electrical malfunction in the brain, sometimes from a fever. I didn't think this video really explained this well or aftercare. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to run to their vet for a look over.
That's true there are many causes of seizures. We appreciate the feedback!
