Diversion! KLM 747 precautionary landing at Frankfurt airport due to problems with landing gear!

- KLM 747-400 diversion! Due to problems with the nose gear, this KLM 747, which was on her way to Nairobi, diverted to Frankfurt. Wat a surprise to see a KLM widebody at Frankfurt airport! The full explanation for the diversion:
Both nosewheel tyres were replaced and due to a faulty gasket, they deflated slowly. It was first discovered somewhere above Athens, there the crew decided to turn around to AMS. Once they reached German airspace, the wheel pressure was about 90 psi which is about 1/3 of the normal pressure. The crew then chose the most safest option which was diverting to Frankfurt. Luckily the landing went well and after a few hours in Frankfurt, the plane flew to Amsterdam late in the evening.

Nice catch! But when it comes to aircraft wheels, the gaskets must be inspected before installation at all times. It's a crucial component of our safety. C'mon boeing!
