I just got mine. What a great bag. Was using the Peak Design Everyday Backpack and this is so so much better. Without doubt my favourite backpack alongside the Retrospective 7 - my favourite shoulder bag!
You make great points Brent. I did not like the Lowepro Protactic either because of the rigidness to my back especially with a laptop. I was impressed in the store with the comfy straps of the mindshift 26. My main question is whether the new 16” macbook will fit? It’s maybe 1 cm larger than the 15”. Hope to see that in your next video! Cheers!
If it's a CM greater in the overall width of the machine (when closed, the shorter distance from the front of the computer to the back of the computer) then I think it'd be too tight. A cm of wiggle room is about all you have if you're lucky in sliding the computer into the notebook holder area. If it were the length of the computer (the longer distance from the right side of the computer to the left side of the computer) then it would be fine.
Hi Brent thanks for this overview. The bag looks great. Just wondering if you've been using it since posting this and how it compares out in the real world to the Mindshift? Thanks again.
I plan to go out tomorrow. Given my schedule (I'm a professor) I don't get out much this time of year. But I made the decision to go out tomorrow. I'll do a video that will include this bag again and the new filters I just got. The video will probably be published by next week.
Just used it this weekend. The functionality of the bag is excellent. The material is not really made for the outdoors. It holds dirt too much. I'd love to see this come out in the MindShift line. The Elite 45 is about the same idea I'm looking for, just too large for my needs. Give me this bag in the MindShift line and I'm sure it'd be perfect. I have the BackLight 26, a very capable bag. I just like the top section on this bag (which is expandable by the way) and the front pocket is fine too, I think it still needs a vertical zipper for greater flexibility but it works and it holds a good amount of stuff.
@@printingmyphotography Hi Brent thank you very much for that feedback. Based on your comments I think i'm going to purchase the backlight 26, a shame as I was hoping the TT Urban would be just as suitable for the outdoors. Thanks again!
Hey Brent, How is this bag holding up after this time? I am considering replace my Everyday backpack into this one - I simply can't make design the interior to work with my gear. Thanks!
Doing very well. Although, admittedly I've not been out as much as I should have been. I've been staying home too much this last year and have massive plans to get out more this summer and fall. I have every confidence this bag will hold up nicely though.
It's really good. My kit to Unalaska Island was the 5d4, 16-35 f/4, 24-70 f/4; Sony a6400, 18-135, 70-350. Performed really well, had extra room for two filter sets, water, food, accessories. I plan to do another full "final review" soon, just too much on the plate at the present.
You could probably cram it in but it'd be to tight in my opinion. I've measured it and the width of the notebook sleeve area is pretty much exactly the size of the 16"mbp. I think it'd be too hard to remove is what it boils down to. I wish I had a 16" to physically test it with! :)
I think that would be tough. There is a bit of wiggle room with my 5d4 and Pro Media Gear L bracket attached, but not much. If you were to detach the lens you could easily configure it to work.

Nice, and I agree. This is a great all around bag for sure!
Better how. Saying it’s better doesn’t mean anything without context

Tried in store with my 15 inch macbook. That was pretty tight, so I would not recommend it for the 16 inch
How heavy is the bag
It's in the neighborhood of 4 pounds.

Use the shoulder load lifters to distribute the pack weight better
Mine is the Urban Approach 15

@@printingmyphotography Thanks! It's been hard for all of us, but hopefully things will get back on track.
All the best! ;)
Huge bag
how's the bag working after after using going on a long trip with 2 mirrorless fuji and a 100-400 lens all the gear

Will this fit the new 16" macbook pro?

Can you fit a gripped body in this bag?
I think that would be tough. There is a bit of wiggle room with my 5d4 and Pro Media Gear L bracket attached, but not much. If you were to detach the lens you could easily configure it to work.
That old guy just standing and watching.........
Yeah, I didn't know he was there for such a long time. He was one of my workshop participants. Fun Times :)
system is great but it lacks styling and looks,,,,
Yeah, I really hope to see a similar bag with MindShift styling and fabrics soon. I'm sure I'd be an ultimate fan-boy if they did that.
Doesn't look like my Urban Access 15
