@@babs6715 🥰 I haven't tried this pattern with a 5mm hook yet. I usually use smaller hooks because the stitch is bulky. I'm afraid that with thicker yarn and larger hooks, it might curl up. But you could make a small swatch to see how it turns out, making sure that the crochet hook you got is suitable for the yarn you intend to use. 😊
