  • On May 25, 2024, CP's Final Spike Steam Tour made the run from Shreveport, LA to Kendleton, TX. It ended up being three hours late. I caught up with it at Vidor instead of Beaumont and followed to Tower 26 in Houston while making a couple of stops on the way. Hope you enjoy!

Never in my life did I think I would see a Canadian Hudson steam engine go through Texas…

I'm glad you caught it. Are they being put out to pasture?

Nice!! Never thought I'd see this happen. Though I will say its absolutely disgusting that there is a fake electric steam whistle for crossings as well as the real steam whistle. Like why is there both!!??

I'm told the manual valve one (a replica of its original Nathan 6-chime) is louder at slow speeds and the air operated one (from a Selkirk Class) is louder at higher speeds
