"F1 23 is a far heartier package than F1 22, with 26 tracks, the enjoyable next chapter of the Braking Point story mode that began in F1 2021, and - for players who love to recline back into the couch and race - the best gamepad handling in the series, ever. The racing-focused secondary career mode F1 World is also likely to be a step in the right direction after last year’s F1 Life for some, although it's equally probable its arcade-inspired, loot-based upgrade system will be divisive amongst traditionalists."

Are you joking? Are you being sarcastic this review was terrible it was from the perspective of someone who literally plays arcade games and not Sim racing titles. We had no mention of the force feedback on direct drive wheels versus belt force-feed back wheels, Compatibility with fanatec versus Simu cube, triple screen support or vr ?!!! Is the physics model sophisticated enough to include real grip or is it just simulated as weight . Sim racing has become a pretty mature gaming section in its own right and deserves a more detailed insight when reviewing an important title like this.

considering how same-y a lot of racing games (especially those contained in one series) can feel, it's a great thing that IGN's best critic (by a lightyear) gets to cover the genre.
F1 is the FIFA of the racing industry...gotta push out a new game yearly and watch the value drop instantly.
Except F1 games feel distinctly different year to year
Will only agree to this on the premise that we are talking about EA, and EA yearly disappointments to Dev and just make money via loot boxes
2019 had the best car and 20 had the birth of my team then nothing has impressed since

I'm just glad that controller input's are better.
They are much muchh better. Not sure if you have played it yet? But it really does feel great on controller now the handling feels proper

if this is your first entry into the series, 8/10 is about right. If you've owned any of the previous games since F12020, it's barely worth 4/10. 'Codemasters', under the thumb of EA, have done the bare minimum as usual. If you really want to try out the new circuits and the Breaking Point story, wait a few months and pick it up second hand or on sale

These story modes are toilet should have vintage cars and vintage tracks in there instead that’s what hardcore f1 fans want not these silly story modes 😔

Still prefer the intuitive feeling of f1 20 and 21. Although this game does very very close and chicanes and slow speed corners are much easier.
The series of Microprose Grand Prix in ONLY 4 games sequels, each one is revolutionary and the details of action on track until today are much more impressive than these Codemasters manager/chalange mode (Carrer) clone sequels since 2007 without competition game.
The best game because there is not more F1 games and comparing to the only last game and forgot the long sequels is not fair.
More value for Microprose games with so many opponents on the market and a special Formula one (95) and sequel Formula one 97 on the psx console.
Games that you bought and you really feel the company made a effort to justify your money and bring action to the gameplay of F1 world and not a manager/ clone "Carrer" that you lose time on crappy futile plastic things .
Funny thing, the cars on Grand Prix don't disappear when dnf appens or you lose a tyre, and you can really can drive 2 cars on race...
only the oldies understand what the benchmark is. You could tell Geoff Crammond was passionate about F1. Things like manual pitstops which have been reduced into a cutscene for more than a decade. An unchanged damage model. Codemasters the ultimate grifters.
The only thing that could get me to buy this is PSVR2 support, which they said they won't do. It's not worth picking up the new version of F1 each year.
The facial animations in this game a freaking phenomenal. This is a racing game with better face animations than most AAA RPG's! lol

Does Starfield have only 1000 planets?
You can't just compare the facial expressions in a racing game (which mostly uses motion capture) to those in a "AAA Rpg" game (which is bigger, more demanding and only uses mo-capture in important cutscenes)

Looks pretty much identical to every other f1 game,i bought 21 and 22 but not going to bother with this one,ill wait for new forza and carry on playing ACC in the meantime,ill just watch f1 instead of playing it, doesn't look like a bad game just same old game
F124 will be exclusive to new gen.. will be first time game will be rebuilt since 2013.. let’s go

Do we need wifi to play career mode
The Qatar track is amazing. Nice and wide, beautiful scenery around and the track is so much fun to drive. Spent hours racing on there alone
Looks better, but the other modes besides the career mode doesn't excite me at all. I'll wait and pick this up on sale, probably Black Friday.

No mention on the equal perofrmance bugs in co-op because it's classed as multiplayer but last year it was never an issue, Was buzzing for co-op career this year after last years game was a bit 🤢

F1 world is awesome if your like me and don't particularly like doing a list of season tracks and like to pick and choose my tracks and still have the fun of upgrading and using a custom character

It’s ridiculous they didn’t announce a VR mode. They are really just putting their heads in the sand.
There's nothing to announce because they already added VR to the game last year and it's in the current version as well
@@rico993r PC maybe. By not making it VR for ps5 EA is just kicking themselves in the butt. I’m sticking with GT7 vr. Once you become fully immersed in PSVR 2 racing, going back to flatscreen is just a sad feeling. We were really spoiled with gt7 vr

Well well. IGN gave it an 8/10. I'm so surprised.
As a game 8, as a sim vs f122 it a 9.5 but agianst other sims its like a 6-7
For me against other sims its like 8.4/10.

It’s odd that a racing game review dedicates less 3 minutes to the single player more, and 4 and a half minutes to review the CGI telenovela the story mode depicts. People actually play it because of it?

Once you play GT7 in VR. Flatscreen racing isn’t the same anymore. Its just so lifeless 😂. I’ll pass on f1 23. No VR, no purchase
