Todo DOES use cursed energy against First grade cursed spirits, but he doesn’t use his cursed technique against them.
Cursed Techniques and Cursed Energy aren’t the sam thing. As Gojo explained to Yuji, Cursed Techniques are like appliances, and Cursed Energy is like electricity. Cursed Energy can be used to power your physical abilities as well as your Cursed Technique. So what Todo was saying is that he didn’t use his Cursed Technique against the first grade cursed spirits, and that he only used Cursed Energy to amplify his physical abilities when facing the first grade spirits. When faced with the special grade cursed spirit however, he did resort to using his cursed technique on top of amplifying his physical abilities with Cursed Energy.
So what we're trying to say here is, Todo is capable of beating multiple first-grade cursed spirits with literally just martial arts enhanced with cursed energy, the same way Yuji fights

Inumaki is best boy, his ability is OP but comes with a cost. You'll see him throughout the series but he shines in the movie.

Aaaa I forgot the theater scene got shown in this episode 😂. They definitely nailed the creepiness factor with that scene. This whole episode was just oh so full of teases. Fun reaction once again!
This is one of the first episodes I realized how well the women characters are written in this anime. Nobara and Maki are such REAL people. Even with Nobara being a little over the top, she's still relatable on so many levels. And you have to admire the level-headedness/control from Maki. Easily two of my favorites females in all of anime.
And these two ONLY get better when the Exchange Event rolls around!
JJK in general is written as real life people with no cliches. Which is why you tend to care for them more than most animes. They live in actual japan 2018, wear actual clothes etc. Most animes just put all the colors and designs on clothes which takes away realism

@@doriyahh the things is there's plenty of badass women in anime, but usually they sacrifice personality to make them tough, so that's why I like these characters, not that they're badass but that they seem like actual girls, multidimensional.
Todo kept yapping about this student Okkotsu that seems to not be around Jujutsu High in the moment. Okkotsu's has an important backstory in Jujutsu Kaisen Movie: 0. Please be sure to give it a try before watching season 2

Flexie if you haven't watched jujutsu kaisen movie 0 I strongly suggest you watch it BEFORE starting season 2 and after watching season 1. It will save you sooo much confusion.

She and Maki are Toji’s cousins, so they and Megumi are first cousins, once removed. It’s a Japanese custom to refer to everyone of that generation as aunts and uncles anyway, but they aren’t literally Megumi’s aunts

Remember the name "okkotsu" and "hakari". They both are gojo student and special grade level.

Also Mai & Maki are twin sisters.
They are from Zenin Clan .
Also Megumi Fushiguro Curse Technique : The 10 Shadows Technique is a hereditary Technique of Zenin Clan...
Thats why Maki always care for Megumi and vise versa as they know they are relative (Maki is Megumi's AUNT).

I have watched so much shonen anime and while most are enjoyable, you get to the point where you can see the tropes and therefore predict where a show is going. Demon Slayer is a good example, it's entertaining, the art is beautiful and of course somewhat inspired by Bleach as well, but the story is fairly predictable. With JJK, I literally have no idea where the story is going to go, and that's awesome.
Nobara definitely has a crush on Maki.

I personally think understanding the systems of Jujutsu Kaisen, Hunter x Hunter, and Slime Tensei is a good way to get a universal grasp of energy-based power systems in general
Jujutsu Kaisen is an abstract power system, Hunter x Hunter is a mechanical power system, and Slime Tensei is an acquisition based power system
Jujutsu Kaisen's power system is one where the innate technique takes most of the spotlight, but cursed energy is still a prominent factor
Hunter x Hunter is one where your techniques and abilities are completely logical and within the boundaries of (spoiler)
Slime Tensei is one where the acquisition of abilities and skills, and the overall worldbuilding is built off of the idea of magicules being this universal energy system
Even without the "energy-based" part, you can take the general idea. For example, JJK is abstract, HxH is logical, and Slime Tensei is worldbuilding and/or otherworldly due to the idea of a third party system giving you these skills
the exchange event is still half a month away in JJK
