- Pop Punk was one of the most popular genres of the 2000’s, and for a viable reason: it’s so good!
In my opinion, these songs and this genre hit even harder now, and the amount of nostalgia they bring is so joyful.

@@bigtoeflip yea, me and my brother listen to them alot, especially my brother. they are in no way, shape, or form pop.
@Stranger_Box1 trust me I love green day. I think in some ways they are especially their more recent stuff. I'm not saying they are pop, but they are in-between punk and pop punk. They have great lyrics easy to understand and catchy. They have easy listening instrumentals. The one thing that truly sets them apart from most pop punk is that their subject matter is usually a little less mundane and sometimes dark or heavy in nature.

This ain't emo. Emo is a subgenre of Post-Hardcore, none of this is even close. Emo would be Hawthorne Heights, or My Chem, or arguably Senses Fail.

@@SuperTiaanBro I consider melodic hardcore to be the Strike Anywhere sound which utilizes much more double time than emo does and has much more punk voice inflection (since it’s a subgenre of punk).

I'm really happy that pop punk has made a comeback and I do like all these new songs but for some reason, the older ones hits really different to me. 😅

@@Frosted_Raindrop Bro I apologize for trashing FOB like that cuz I dived into their discography sometime after my reply and it turns out they have like 30 good songs. Like sure they're no Panic who has like 60 good songs but they're still really good. I really like 7 Minutes, Of All the Gin Joints, Sophomore Slump, Hum Hallelujah, Carpal Tunnel, and 20 Dollar. My favorite Panic song is prolly But It's Better If You Do. I also really like London Beckoned, New Perspective, Nicotine, Girls/Girls/Boys, etc. What about you?
And by the way I totally relate to being obsessed with Panic, it's not even some short-term hyperfixation at this point, it's a part of my life. I would die for a similar band with that Live in Denver vaudeville aesthetic and (somewhat) wholesome band history.
And if you don't know Avril, she's basically the whiny, generic, emotion-lacking version of Paramore. As for Paramore, I haven't dived into their discography yet but I should and probably will within the next few months. I already like like ten of their songs.

Sum 41 was pop punk for one album tbf, unlike the others. Blink has the most claim to be here. I'd say NFG too, but I'm petty about NFG because I miss Shai Hulud too much to accept that NFG is what he spends his time on now lol.
