@jackfishcampbell6745 well an express van is 2000lbs heavier and if it was a 2500 it had a 4l80 which has an even longer first gear than a 60e not to mention more drivetrain loss through the 80e/14 bolt. So ya I'm sure that express van was a turd. I also spin this truck to about 7800rpm to help offset the lack of torque down low.
That's impressive for a 4.8. I want to pair a V8 with my 5-speed so bad but the old 4.3 only has 39k original miles. I think if he filled up with e85 it would have been even closer. 5.0s pick up some power even on the stock flex map.
@Rayman-cd8bd you think a cam/headers 4.8 makes more than 350whp? That's laughable, and it definitely doesn't make more torque either. Only thing I'll agree with is that my truck probably weighs a little less
@davidaddison4684 ya, factory 5 speed truck so 4.8 was the only option in that spec. Also I had the heads off when I did the cam so 110% it's a 4.8, I'm only the second owner and when I bought it the truck was bone stock
@FordPickUPRed you're extremely out of touch. The 15+ aluminum body f150s are light. A stock single cab is 42-4400lbs stock. Many of these bolt on f150s are sub 4000lb
Let's see. The Ford 5.0 is 302ci and the Chevy 4.8 is 283ci. The Ford 4400lb and the Chevy 4073. The Ford is rated at 400hp and the Chevy with the stage 2 cam and exhaust around 350-375hp. So no, it is not impossible for the Chevy to beat the Ford.
A cammed/exhaust 4.8-5.3 LS will make about 400hp. There's videos on here showing that bone stock they make 360hp. These two trucks were making nearly identical power at the tires, whoever had better gearing and less weight won.
@Arkansas1989 ebay headers, sloppy stage 2 cam, and pac 1218 valve springs. Everything else is stock and has 260k miles on it, shift it at 74-7800 though which most people aren't willing to do. I used to drive a Chevy express 2500 4.8 for work . Not big torque . You must have added quite a bit to that truck . Otherwise Coyote should destroy you .
@scarce331 Your truck motors anyway , there can be no dispute about that .
The guy has a high performance cam. Of course he's going to win lol.
@joelkoning6190 i spent 700 dollars for the cam, springs, headers, and the tune. Thus isn't some high end build or fancy cam
That's impressive for a 4.8. I want to pair a V8 with my 5-speed so bad but the old 4.3 only has 39k original miles.
I think if he filled up with e85 it would have been even closer. 5.0s pick up some power even on the stock flex map.
@@TheIrishPhantom 24s aren't flex unfortunately or kt would have been a killer run
What’s the MPG
@eduardorivera714 i know your joking but honestly If I drive it normal it's wildly decent. Can get over 20 on the highway, the 5 speed really helps
From a dig??
@charleslane789 pointless for me I just spin, the 20 roll i spun all of first and most of second
@ spinning is racing. 5-10 is dig king, mod 4 mod. Nice rig.
I think being a 5 speed is what edged it out up top, good run
@Meatpopsicle999 i agree, 4l60 truck would need a 4000+ stall and I still think from a roll it wouldn't be as quick as the 5 speed
I think having more horsepower, tourqe and less weight is what edged it out😂
@Rayman-cd8bd you think a cam/headers 4.8 makes more than 350whp? That's laughable, and it definitely doesn't make more torque either. Only thing I'll agree with is that my truck probably weighs a little less
😂
Ouuwee!!😎
and its a 4.8 not the 5.3 ....?
@davidaddison4684 ya, factory 5 speed truck so 4.8 was the only option in that spec. Also I had the heads off when I did the cam so 110% it's a 4.8, I'm only the second owner and when I bought it the truck was bone stock
Do that from a dig
That Chevy has zero chance of getting the win😊

Just keep the cammed ls above 4000 on the start and its hard to beat!!
The Silverado of that year was only 4100lbs, The F-150 is at least 1000 pounds heavier. The 4.8's are great motors that love boost.
I don’t buy it,
There no f***in way its only cam/headers🤣
@ImAliysh big cam(for a 4.8), lots of rpm, and the truck is the lightest factory combination you can get. It ran a 13.8 at 104 years ago
A stock single cab is faster than 13.8@@scarce331
A cammed/exhaust 4.8-5.3 LS will make about 400hp. There's videos on here showing that bone stock they make 360hp. These two trucks were making nearly identical power at the tires, whoever had better gearing and less weight won.
@tedbear6012 probably so but my trucks a manual and can't 60ft to save it's life so not exactly comparable. I would have lost from a dig for sure
@@COBRO98 Bone stock 4.8L LS never in its life made 360 to the wheel. GTFOH.

Stock manifold is tapped out around 7000 but shift recovery is way better if I just spin it a little further
Nice.
That Coyote needs a tune, itll be ok.

Win or not I'd be pretty damn embarrassed that my FBO lightweight chevy can barely pull a stock coyote... That POS would definitely be for sale
@kennethrobinson5151 headers and a cam? Also my truck isn't much lighter than the f150. Ford has a bigger motor and 4x the cams but ya go off

Funny how cam and headers don't even bring it to an even playing field with it's age but they still think somehow the ford was at a disadvantage in stock form, and 10 times the price.oookkk

Takes a lot to run a stock ford that’s limited to 103-104 mph has a passenger with average driver and heavy wheels
It is opened up modded, the F150 is stock, but it is cool to see a manual beat a 10 speed. I rented a F250 Superduty to haul some junk off a couple of weeks ago, I had some fun in that thing, 5.0/10R90/4X4, I feels so good to rent a vehicle, no fear of breaking something at all.
