  • Oregon and Ohio State play one of the biggets games in the country on October 12th. In 2021 both offenses had big days, but that's unlikely to be the case again as both teams have reloaded on the defensive side of the ball. Can Oregon actually put up 500 yards of offense at home?

Yep, I am with you…35-38 points feels like a floor for Oregon that game.
People saying the defenses are so much better and Oregon won’t score as much. Oregon ALWAYS scores a lot of points. It didn’t matter going to OSU in 21. It likely won’t matter often this season. Way too much talent. Averaging 5 TDS per game in conference feels easy this year! I could see us ONLY averaging 38-40 points a game this year instead of 44+ last year. However, it won’t be a big drop off. If it is 37.2. Ppg and a 7 points less will I be shocked, no. It won’t be much more than that though. This offense is gonna roll there defenses! Even the best ones, more than they are used to!
You have to remember that our defense is going to keep giving our offense the ball back, because the offense of the Big10 aren’t as good.
      We shall see💯🦆

Oregon is not scoring 38 points on Ohio State. OSU had the best secondary in the country last year and they held Missouri scoreless for 3 1/2 quarters with a defense that barely had a break all game. Missouri had 128 total yds passing (almost 100 yds less than what they got against GA) and their top 10 WR Luther Burden was held to 3 catches for 15 yards; that was with 6'3" 235# Sonny Styles at safety for injured Nathan Ransom. Now Ransom is back healthy and they've added Caleb Downs. Also, if you don't know about OSU DB Coach Tim Walton, here's blurb from a recent 'The Athletic' article on Walton:
"His success on the field speaks for itself. He coached 14 years in college, winning a national championship on Nick Saban’s staff at LSU in 2003, and 11 years in the NFL before returning to Ohio State as its cornerbacks coach. He’s drawn rave reviews from players like Jalen Ramsey, who said Walton might be the best DBs coach he’s ever had.".
There's a reason all these elite corner recruits want to come learn from Walton. Its not gonna be cake walk passing you think. Nothing is gonna come easy.

      Missouri 14
      OSU 3
      Oops! 😐
It doesn’t really help your case to bring up a game you lost, especially against a team that finished tied for 3rd in their conference sporting the 25th most talented roster in college football; Ohio State was #3.
Oregon was 10th and has markedly improved at several positions.
Add to that Dan Lanning tends to over perform in big games as opposed to Ryan Day….well, everyone knows he’s 1-6 against Top 5 opponents, and he’ll be on the road, breaking in another new QB with no ties to Ohio State beyond dollar signs.

@@DeshCanter Ohio State lost to 10th ranked Missouri in a bowl game. That was Ryan Day's only loss to a team outside the top 5 with the exception of a loss to 12th ranked Oregon. So while you're out there trying to be cute by throwing stones over a bowl loss to a top 10 team; what was Harbaugh's excuse for losing to UNRANKED Iowa with a Michigan team that came in ranked #2? What was Harbaugh's excuse for losing to UNRANKED Michigan State with a Michigan team that came in ranked #7? How about Harbaugh's loss to Indiana? What's the excuse, Harbaugh didn't have the requisite blue chip talent to beat those teams, or was he just out-coached?🤔 I mean, winning is easy, right? Please. Get a new act, nobody cares about your repeated obsessed rantings over Day and Ohio State. You sound slow. You're nothing but a delusional casual who thinks Michigan is some kind of football overlord to OSU for winning 3 straight games. Meanwhile, Michigan was on its way to losing its 17th out 18 rivalry games if Harbaugh hadn't decided to forfeit and run to big brother for professional help. Michigan has beaten Ohio State 6 times this century, so congrats on 3 wins in a row being the highlight of your rivalry life.🙄 And before you go on with your predictable trite diatribe about OSU and Ryan Day, don't forget to give us Harbaugh's excuses for those losses to Iowa, Michigan State, Indiana, and let us know which one of Day's losses are comparable if not worse. Casual.

    Oregon 34, Ohio State 20
Arrogant Buckeyes go in thinking they’ll shove the Ducks around and score at will, only to find out they still have a physicality problem, particularly on their O-line, which has been a problem for most of Ryan Day’s tenure (see Michigan-Ohio State since 2021). They get behind early and Howard throws 2 picks trying to come back. The Ducks, with a lead, run the rock and burn the clock, a la Michigan, and the Buckeyes go down.
3 seconds after the game ends the Buckeye fans hold a corporate press conference listing the 5 main reasons they lost, none of which reference their ongoing softness issues:
1). “We had to travel two time zones-not fair!” (Never-mind the fact that Oregon came to Columbus 3 years ago and beat them at home! 😏)
2). “Our roster is young and inexperienced; no one really expected us to compete at the highest levels yet!”
3). The Oregon fans were mean and said not very nice things to us at high volume!
4). “We’re pretty sure they had our signs. Every time we put up the pictures of a banana, Taylor Swift, and the number 3 it was as if they knew we were going to throw instead of run! Cheating!”
5). “Their band kept playing the Michigan fight song, and PTSD is a real thing!”

Hey, remember when the Buckeyes promised us they’d “show Oregon how good CJ Stroud is!”
Remember the last time Michigan came to Columbus, as 9-point underdogs, and left with a 22-point win?
Yeah, I remember those games too! So does everyone else!
The Buckeyes get respect going into big games when they win one. It’s been a while.

Yeah, I do remember that. Barack Obama was president and not a single coach, much less player, on that team is currently involved with Ohio State’s program.
