No matter who plays Wonder Woman in future adaptations, I'll always see Lynda as the definitive Wonder Woman. My dad grew up on this show, and FX introduced it to me as a kid. It's cheesy and a bit dated, but it's a gem nonetheless.
I grew up with the Justice League animated series version, but after discovering this series on MeTV, I have to agree with you.
Lynda Carter is most certainly the definitive Wonder Woman. There's just something about her that makes the role seem more natural.

Don't forget our ladies of tv and movies like Jaclyn Smith, Joanna Cameron, Farrah Fawcett, Lynda Carter, Lindsay Wagner, Sophia Loren, Jane Russell, Audrey Hepburn Lauren Bacall, and my favorite Grace Kelly these women got style and class and they got all that's girl power to all!
Those were fun times! Tell your Dad he has good taste!

This is my favorite of the openings, because of the more urgent sound to the music and the lyrics. Though I like the s3 opening, too.

I agree. I especially liked the sequences in which she smashed her way into a burning room to rescue Steve Trevor. I loved '70s tv. Those were the days in which shows had great musical themes.

No, the 1st Season was the best, the 2nd & 3rd Season got silly. Some episodes were as bad as the Batman TV show.

Art Murillo In many ways, it was like the "Batman" TV Show. Season 1 of both shows were the best, and Seasons 2 & 3 were a mixed bag, with some standout episodes and some, not so much. The major connection to both shows was Stanley Ralph Ross. Lyle Waggoner auditioned for and, of course, lost the Batman role to Adam West. Frank Gorshin, the original Riddler on "Batman," played a villainous toymaker in a classic Season 2 episode of "Wonder Woman."
I like the first season setting during the 2nd World War. To me it was more dramatic because it was set in a time that was very real and had a major impact on the world. Seasons 2 and three were ok but it didn't have the same oomph like season 1. Also I think it was sad that Steve and Diana didn't get to explore their attraction to each other because in the last two seasons Lyle Waggoner played Steve Trevor Jr who was the son of Major Steve Trevor from season 1 so it might have been kind of weird.
The WW2 setting sadly got the show axed by ABC because although it had decent ratings, production costs are expensive.
CBS agreed to pick up the show, but with conditions, hence the sudden time jump. The Steve Trevor Jr character was created as Warner Bros Television wanted to keep Lyle Waggoner in the show.
The lyrics posted here are for season 1, not season 2. WWII was long over for the events in season 2.

I believe this is from the episode titled "The Queen and the Thief" .
This is the re-worked lyrics and animation removing all reference to WWII and the Nazi era as the show moved from ABC to CBS (and a present day setting). Soon after, they replaced this with the full live-action clip intro in Season 2 (once they had filmed enough modern-day episodes to cull clips from that is).

The new film had better do a nod to this theme. Hell Marvel is smart enough to do nods like that. The ringtone of Rhodey's phone in Iron Man was the old 60s Iron Man cartoon theme. Rami spiderman had a street performer doing the 60s cartoon theme. Heck have a fancy dinner with an orchestra and have them play a slow version of this song.

I know some others have said it, but, seriously! Would you mind posting the right lyrics for this version of the opening, they differ from the ones in season 1. It's so sad this intro lasted for so short and was replaced by the hideous instrumentals afterwards.
