@@lauranother_ All debuts are introductions into a group. That's nothing new or something that needs to be learned. Good debuts work as both an introduction to the members and their storyline (if the group is gonna have a storyline) AND as a good listenable song. Stop acting like people aren't being fair in their criticisms. This song is a mess and i'm not gonna force myself to like it. I'm tired of doing that with kpop music. Most of the anger is directed at JYP (the company) NOT the girls. It's very clear that JYP is jumping on SM's 50 songs in one trend and copying storylines from another group.
i definitely agree with Jordan, they showed their skills in one whole video letting people know that they can pull out any concept. Plus it is just the beginning of NMMIX. :)
Yup,I think that too.We should give them chances they're good indeed with vocals, visuals, dance everything.one more thing jyp shouldn't push them into plagiarism scandals maybe it can affect their debut and hardcore ateez fans as well
It's not giving a variety of skills in the right way though, it just comes off messy. Furthermore, all those concepts they portrayed were products of plagiarism, so in my opinion it's less amazing and more :/
I feel like a lot of people have hated on these girls and I think that’s unfair. People might say it’s their “opinion”, but a lot of these comments say nothing but rude stuff towards the group. Instead of hating on them please just say your opinion and not cause something that could hurt the members feelings. They did work hard for this debut. Just take this into consideration.
I think the problem atiny’s are talking more about is the actual storyline? I remember my shock when I read the storyline nmixx is going for and how much it resembles ateez’s storyline.. overall I am just disappointed in jype for setting the girls up like that and for copying from groups from smaller companies 😬
exactly!! having same scenes doesn't mean it's copying a group because they may have same concepts but it's really obvious that nmixx‘s storyline is so similar to ateez. what's more shocking is a big company copied it from a small company, did they really ran out of ideas for thier new girl group??
unfortunately for KQ, they didn't copyright or legally keep the pirate lore concept in their name. even though they are the first to come up with it, they also didn't secure it enough for other groups to stop taking it. though ateez are the pioneers of such a beautiful story, it is so devastating that their fate included being stolen. legally it is okay what JYPE did, but morally it is wrong. if only KQ sealed the concept for themselves, we wouldn't see everyone making such a unique thing a trend now. just like how alternate realities might have been one groups special concept, we see a lot of it in kpop now, becuase when something new comes out, it's everybody's toy. but seriously pirates is something else.
@@charli4eee17 and it's not about who did the pirate concept first, it's about who consolidated it and built their recognition and current status on the basis of that concept. And that's ateez.
you addressed the issue so well jordan, as an atiny i really appreciate u addressing it and i really love watching your videos. I agree the mv was phenomenal but the song was kinda all over ur face but i wouldn't call it THE WORST debut ever. It's just they're a group from jyp one of the big 3 groups and expectations were suuper high so yeah.
I'm also an Atiny and I also think that from a legal standpoint, it's not copyrighted or plagiarized... The Twitter Atinys are just fighting a battle that they can never win with this one... I get that it's super similar and everything but it's not technically illegal.
@@Patricruss even jordan did mention that it wasn't anything "illegal" but it does leave a bad aftertaste esp regarding the storyline bit but yea nothing will probably come out from fighting :')
@@Patricruss atinys were the most mad at the fact that jyp took ateez whole storyline and used it on a new group when kq,edenary and ateez worked so hard on it and even included their personal lives into their storyline just for the ceo of a big company to steal it from them even if it’s not illegal it’s still sad that ateez and kq went through so much to build their lore for over 3 years for this to happen and jyp will get away with it but if it was a group from a small company doing this jyp would’ve probably sued them by now
5:45 just want to point this out that every atiny(and non atiny) here needs to know (I'm an atiny my self) what Jordan said really caught my ears. "legally it's fine but when it's for the reputation that's maybe not the best."
Yes what he said was right though, its not illegal, but definitely taking someone's work,is not it, Its their storyline their concept their individuality in kpop industry Taking away concept and calling it unique is not justified, just bcz the company is huge don't mean that their status can overshadow the hardwork ateez and their team put in building concept
i dont know why people hate this group. this song actually is good after the more you hear it. this is just their debut and they have soo much potential.
the “if” in your comment stings lmao haha im sure they will comeback and they will come back better. nmixx still has so much room to grow wishing them the best
@@winmar2623 with another plagiarism thing 😒No I want my ears to rest for this horrible song and recoverd 👌so I’m not too much exciting to hear them soon 🙇🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
i think i might be one of the few who found ABSOLUTELY no problem with it. i LOOOOOVE the song n i listen to it ALOT n still not sick of it. i rewatched the MV more times than i can count. their voices r just wow, and the dance practice is INSAAAAANE
NO LITERALLY like I heard so much about how horrible this song was and just now in this video I heard and watched for the first time and like.. I don't see any major glaring problems with it? idk why people are so upset over this 🧍♀️
@@annamirosh2085 people dont like it for the random sound change in the second verse. But tbh one of MY favorite debuts that gets better and better after each listen.
Biggest problem for me in this MV is that I absolutely didn't remember any of the girls. None of them stood out to me, and not because I doubt their skills but because the amount of stuff going on absolutely diverted my attention away from them.
True. The only one that stands out to me is lily, probably because shes half ( i think). Everyone else seems to just blend in except perhaps the girl at thing end of the song doing the eye movement in the middle.
i swear this is the best reaction i have seen so far for this music video. it's good how jordan addressed the issues and stuffs but yeah he did some research so that he will not be mistaken in any way that will taint anyone's reputation. WE LOVE YOU JORDAN!!!!!!!
jordan and and itsadnyandjas are the best reacotrs of o.o mv, jordan addressed the issues and stuffs while itsandyandjas explained how the song, lyrics, mv and title track is all about so yea i can say that these 22 channels are the best reactors of nmixx o.o mv
actually in the first part of the song, they say "don't be surprised, this is just a teaser" so we'll wait and see what the girls give us next, they're so talented and we're not gonna deny it 💞💞
The team that handles NMIXX wanted to make a great impression, but at what cost. Personally, the song has grown to me. Listening to it alone without the watching the music video makes me digest the song better after few listens. I see the vision they wanted to relay tp the viewers . But I understand that the song wasn't marketable for general mass audiences. It will feel too overwhelming and chaotic. Plus, the plagiarism controversy around the group doesn't really help. JYPE need to step up the game and makes sure they choose the right creative team for Nmixx. They are wasting the groups potential. I hope this backlash could be a wake up call to the company.
Yeah i do agree, legally speaking, of course there will be no issues here since you can't copyright scenes or certain elements in a music video. But ethically speaking, it might reflect negatively on the company or even the group.
thanks for mentioning about the plagiarism, just wanted to say that even if 7-10 similarities in music videos are ignored as mere "coincidence" the storyline certainly can NOT. ateez's whole storyline of being pirates who dream of a utopia, and set sail on a voyage to find it(while struggling with differentiating dreams and reality) was copied word for word. not even kidding every single word of atz's songs was in nmix's concept description. makes me sad to see big company artist's copy the hardwork of small company artist's and get away w it
You can write that the company (jyp ent.) and the group management are at fault but not the girls or pls not jyp xD The girls did their best at performing and I swear Nayeon from Twice didn't even like their first release "I'm gonna be a star" but gave her all at performing. I think that is what nmixx are experiencing right now. I hope the employees that copied the concept get fired immediately.
@바다 why do I feel that kq is only quiet and assessing the pros and cons of claiming plagiarism. Its literally big 3 vs no big 3. Or they are waiting for nmixx comeback to see how to story moves on.
me personally, i like this song, thIs debut, i agree that the awkward pause in the mv is kinda meh but on the studio version the transition is good, and the CHOREOGRAPHY is so so good, i wanna learn it.
Worst debut ever is an exaggeration, expectations were just high because they’re from JYPE. Admittedly the song doesn’t sound cohesive (to me) but it showcases their talents and potential. Definitely a rocky start from public reception tho.
I agree. It's not so bad, I don't like how the girls are getting hated on when they're not the one who made and produced the song. I mean it's just the beginning, I hope other people can be considerate of the girl's feelings. It's just a debut like c'mon give them a break.
@@florence.066 i dont like how people are hating on the girls either, but the sad thing is that jyp posted an article saying that all of their comebacks will have music like this… calling it nmixx pop..
I understand you, you can comfort yourself with those words. You have to admit this song is bad. Actually the song is not that bad but it's just that the songs feels like that there are 4 or 5 songs together. BTW mv is amazing.
I agree that the video is amazing, visuals and editing-wise, and the song is really WOAH despite the changes in concepts. It's just that for a new group like them, it was hard to recall faces in one viewing. Thanks for the reaction, Jordan! Really enjoyed it. God bless you too!
Rather than MV the studio versions are literally AMAZING.... Those awkward pauses make the MV little awkward but literally addicted to their dance and vocals.... Honestly, Jyp could do better but still hope girls get lot of success in future ♥️♥️ Also, to the people who couldn't stand the song I will highly recommend watching their performances, U will literally have different point of view of song....
"This is a trailer for a Kpop group... They are advertising themselves..." - You got it right, dude. AS the song said, "this is just a teaser." I have a feeling that all the hard-to-understand scenes will be explored further in upcoming comebacks. Like this is the trailer for the NMIXX series, if you know what I mean.
naur the thumbnail LOLLL but anyways I liked the choreo and i actually got used to this song so quick idk about anyone else haha. i can't wait to hear more songs from them!
I feel like kpop stans way too often force themselves to like music. It's okay to dislike a song or even an album and still be a fan of the group. It might make the feedback easier to read and improve their chances next time.
kpop fans need to stop having to stockholm syndrome themselves over their faves' music just so they can rain praises on it. there's always gonna be a song that doesn't fit your taste and that's ok.
@@pomegranategirl07 right?? I mean, as much as much as i love the group, i cannot believe how many ppl are in denial about their debut. Like I literally do not believe anyone who claims the song was even ok 😭
the camera work is amazing as expected from a huge company but I just hate blatant copying. it has the messiest and confusing debut song in history ..the girls deserve an original concept and better music
@@krishnagarg7429 the lyrics of o.o has literally got to be the most confusing lyrics in kpop though. especially the rap, it's like they put random onomatopoeias, combined them and then decided to call it a day. i could not sense a story or message or emotion that they were tryna convey except messiness or coolness'. it was all over the place
Imagine training hard for years just to have your company give you a messy, rip-off SM song, plagiarizing other groups (Ateez, Aespa, Loona), tacky outfits, and everyone hates your debut song. They don't deserve that, this group has so much potential 😭
What are you all just saying?! You’re exaggerating now! Also generalizing your comments to all Kpop artists just because you apparently feel betrayed by one debut song is truly unfair... I mean chill
Their vocals are good but the song was just too messy for the ears to comprehend personally, besides that I was disappointed to see what jype did with the whole plagiarism, many are only thinking cuz it’s similarities in mvs or elements in mvs but the actual storyline they wrote for these girls are the exact same as ATEEZ’, that’s what everyone is trying to downplay
@@ariffdanial2347 they can do that, but I’m talking about their storyline and lore, storyline is continuous and it’s clear that it’s influenced from ATEEZ’ storyline and lore, too many similarities cannot be a coincidence
the song sounds okay to me, not too original (heard it from aespa and NCT). but the MV looked controversial. the team behind are surely smart enough to pinpoint if there is/are similarities to other sunbae group MV, but i wonder why they still had to push through such a thing. such a risky move though.
@@JordanOrme I think half the problem is that it's the same team behind this MV and Ateez's (The Real/Turbulence), so rather than just plagiarism, it's making me think a lot about the thought and ethics of reusing locations/shots for two big releases so close together. I'm not certain but I'm guessing that they were shot around the same time because of how long the VFX would have taken in O.O. Could they really not have thought of more ideas than reusing memorable elements like the rigged 'flying' shot and the exact same angled shots from those videos. Like you said, people will notice and it just really doesn't seem like it would be worth the risk.
@@gemmasmith1667 it was the same studio but different directors. and even so, jyp would have been checking and confirming the storyline, content and the final edit. and its not just the mv but the teams specific concept and storyline with the pirates sailing the horizon to reach utopia, which has been ateezs identity that they built up for the last four years, is blatantly used. inspiration and copying is different so thats why atiny, both korean and international are angry. i feel bad for the both ateez and kq as well as the girl group.
@@Anastasia.KangEunbi Seong Wonmo of Digipedi was the Chief Director of both The Real + Turbulence and O.O and Lee Moonyoung was the Exec Producer for both. One of the producers (yuyenaa on insta) posted the credits for them all and it's the same teams. It's just awful all round. Trust me I've been deep in it for days. For a company to offer the same treatment elements to a big company and disregard that they've just used it for another smaller one, when that bigger company already seems to be taking whatever they want to adopt from that group makes my blood boil. Inspiration is one thing but the amount of things they took from Ateez is overwhelming.
Honestly, I don't feel anything is wrong with the song, just the awkward pause in the MV makes it feel like it isnt mixed properly. But if you listen to the studio version, the transition where it goes NMIXX~ is really smooth!! This is such a bop I've been listening to it on loop!!
We have different tastes and perspective. Up to this point I find the song messy. The 'baila baila' part is not a good hook. The transition to another genre, that NMIXX~, isn't really giving justice to the song. I just wished that they made the pop rock part a separate song, that would be awesome. And it is also worth mentioning that the lyrics is kind of messy as well, just a bunch of words.
@@thundercloudss I actually really agree with that I genuinely wish that the hero part and bailla part where two seperate songs, that would've been fine. The nmixx transition although better on the audio version, still could've been done a little better instead of just making it so sudden. And I heavily despise the zip zap zoom come on come on whatever lyric. I'm fine with listening to the rest of the song now, but every time that part comes up, It's so hard to listen to. I just wish they made up some sort of concept for the lyrics instead of adding random words that don't make sense or don't work together
I think you're right about the concept trailer thing. Yes, this seems more like a trailer than a debut, and that's the problem. A debut should tell us what their music is going to sound like and what we can expect regularly; like an actual song. I think they would've been better off calling this the "debut trailer" or "concept trailer", and naming tank as the official debut, or even making another song altogether for the debut. Also visually this is stunning, but musically it's over done.
6:22-6:42 best description about this debut. I think their first comeback will be much more solid e.g a mini-album with multiple songs, each a different genre!
I think that at first it blows in your face. Once you understand the lyrics and the purpose of the group, then the song actually fits. However, it should not have been released as a debut song, but maybe a song later on, or better yet clearly released as a remix of all the songs they would do in the future pre-debut.
the lyrics actually suit a „debut“ the best (knowing how they talk about us being in a cinema, seeing a teaser/trailer), would‘ve loved it more if it was a pre-debut song tho
Actually this is a VERY SMART debut. This song is not just a teaser but it's also a cipher. (Cipher is a secret way of writing; Remember the lyrics about 0 and 1 which is a binary code). There is even a lyric in the song: "do you see the mazes of 0’s and 1’s?" And also: “Zero plus zero equals infinity” This song can be read as O.O or zero.zero(0.0) The binary code bits never end, it goes on forever which they could possibly be saying we’ll “never end”. Also 0.0 is also a number used in an IP address. It’s a default route. Which means they’re gonna connect to everyone’s computers - basically saying everyone will be talking about us (which is what’s happening). There is also a word called cypher in music. Cypher is a song that features numerous artists that creates something like a remix. This song “O.O” sounds like a remix. Maybe a remix of a few of their songs put together. Speaking of “putting together” it also sounds like a medley. A medley is also something artists use in concerts to START a concert as an INTRO, Which is why it would make sense as to why they do not have a normal format of a song….(which is why they have no chorus, no pre-chorus, no bridge) other fun theory is: JYP wanted the whole world to know about them (0.0 IP address to the rest of the world). We think THIS WHOLE THING WAS PLANNED. It’s going the way they expected it to go, all the HATE love etc. They wanted people to be confused with the song and even possibly hate it. Who knows maybe they did this ALL on purpose 🤔 Let’s see how it all plays out.
The debut should catch people's attention and want them to listen to their next songs but I think they failed in this. They might be saving something for later and trying to put that as a cipher in their debut, but it is unlikely people would go for their next songs since their debut song wasn't good enough.
Honestly I don't blame the Girls for the plagiarism and all, The company should be the one to be blamed, They literally wasted the Girls talents *smh smh*
The plagiarism issue with this mv is not only about the similarities with other groups mv it’s mostly the fact that the storyline Nmixx are introducing in this mv and other video jype have posted before their debut is literally the same storyline Ateez and KQ entertainment have been working on for at least the past 3 years. The fact that many similarities from various group like Ateez, Loona, Aespa, Itzy, Monsta X, Treasure, etc… have been pointed out is an enough proof in my eyes to say that this issue isn’t just "a fandom overreacting". Nmixx is a group with 7 amazingly talented girls and I’m really disappointed in jype for sabotaging their debut whether it’s for publicity or not. Coming from a BIG 3 company they could have found many other ways to ensure the success of their new group without having to steal the work of smaller companies.
I've now read more about the plagiarism accusations and don't find anything convincing. I think you guys should educate yourself what plagiarism means. Having some (sometimes only vaguely) similar singular "shots", "outfit elements", "themes", "story-beats" or "concepts" is not plagiarism. It happens all the time in MVs and most of these we already know from lots of movies, tv shows or artworks (like the "city rooftop shot" or "over the clouds with an airship" and more) before ATEEZ used them. So if its plagiarism for NMIXX it should be also plagiarism for ATEEZ (and others that used these). For me at this moment it's just "a fandom overreacting" and kinda ridiculous. But I might be missing something. I'm open to learn what you exactly think is plagiarism (no broad accusations or just echoing others fan rage but concrete examples).
I didnt love or hate this debut at first, however the song is really growing on me and the chorus is stuck in my head. I feel like these girls have a lot of potential and I am very curious about their future. I also really loved your take on the debut!
Let’s admit it, majority of the haters who said this song was bad are now enjoying the music. (Not all haters but most of them) It’s still comes from personal taste but their criticisms towards this song naming “The worst Kpop debut song” doesn’t deserve the actual hate it receives! The song is literally creative and genius for me! It’s like domino effect. The more you listen to it, the more you realize how good it actually is. The long pause in the MV only made it bad and it made the song separated in 3 parts but just by listening to the original audio and their performance, all those parts are interconnected and executed perfectly. And the “ShOOg, ShOOg” lyrics are literally the sound effects of moving eyes in mangas and comic books while the “WhOOk whOOk” and “zOOm zOOm” are also pertains to the sound or movement that the eyes create in comics and makes up the title O.O! NMIXX just broke the typical “stereotypical” and casual “badass-girl crush- cutesy” concept that most KPOP gg’s are generally using as their main concept. They are truly an ace and i’m proud I stan them since their qualifying videos. The vocal line is one of the strongest in 4th Gen and the dance line are just so good and advanced!!! They are truly an ALL ACE GROUP.
Honestly, as much as the mv was confusing I kinda loved the song, but from an atiny perspective, it really does frustrate us to have such a hard working group coming from a smaller company have their whole storyline taken away from them in just a span of a few minutes, but yet another hilarious video that I definitely enjoyed watching helped me stay calmer than I may have been if it wasn't for Jordan.
Tbh jype did them dirty in giving them a messy debut, some people really went overboard in bullying the girls when it’s actually jype fault, hope the girls are ok tho If it weren’t so messy and if it didn’t have lots of other groups ideas and stuff in it I say it would have been a awesome debut
Unpopular opinion: if this was released by a non big 3 group no one would have looped this song 70 times to get used to it and call it a 'bop' (Imo this song sucked, and i just know jyp did this for publicity. Including the plagiarism shit. By the next cb even if they get just a slightly better song than this, people are gonna call it SOTY.)
THIS IS SO TRUE!!! And regarding the whole plagiarism thing, if a smaller company did that they would have been forced to release an apology but since it's JYPE they don't suffer any damage nor do they care at all. Tired how big companies can get away with stealing and still be praised because they have company stans that kiss their asses
the problem with nmixx-ateez plagiarism controversy is not just the music scenes having a similarity, it's the lore that jyp ent choose for them. If anyone doesn't know nmixx is concept storyline is VERY similar to ateez where they are pirate like going out the horizon reaching for their utopia with a declaration going against odds while everyone laughs and ridicule them but they just go forward towards their goal. I am even angrier because KQ and ATEEZ worked there way up in building the worldview of ateez since debut for it to be copied word for word by a huge company and company stans doing their best in defending blatant plagiarism. My anger and frustrations is not channeled on the girls rather the company and team behind their concept like they literally could go for any route with the pirate concept but no. If you choose to stay and defend jyp it's all on you just know who the real victim is here.
I think Jordan may be the only person who _actually understood_ what "O.O" and its MV were going for He pointed out a LOT of things I never noticed despite many rewatches of the video, especially the perfect transitions (FWIW, NMIXX's 2nd single, which drops 12hrs after I type this, seems to be far more cohesive, and the 7 girls have spent the past 6 months showing, live onstage, they can and will slay basically every concept imaginable)
I can see how it feels like too many things being awkwardly mixed together but it's really not as bad as people make it seem. After rewatching the mv and listening to the song a couple times I found myself thoroughly enjoying everything about this debut. I'm looking forward to seeing them perform this live, I think it's gonna be even more fun to watch. There's so many fun dance moves and "killing parts" to keep you engaged!
@Iskren Ivanov who the hell cares about jyp? the song has naturally been stuck in my head for days now and i'm having a good time. no one's forcing YOU to like it stop being mad about people enjoying things
As an atiny the copyright issues stood out to me a lot. So I was interested to see what you would say from your professional point of view. And I wasn't disappointed. Thanks for your insights.
FINALLY THANKS JORDAN!, you addressed this song as a trailer for the group, who are really talented and can do multiple varieties of concepts and genre!
*This is why I ended up listening more on the STUDIO VERSION rather than the MV. The long pause before the 2nd verse made it very CONFUSING. The transition in the STUDIO ver. is actually smooth and doesn't sound forced.*
The plagiarism issue is just not about mv similarities,or location similarities, its about ateez storyline, its about their individuality in kpop industry, From choreo ,upto storyline, All matched to ateez that itself says that their content was not original, Definitely girls are talented, but giving them copied content is even disrespectfull for their talent
@@exo_ateez1020 fr... I cant believe they are still denying it when Ateez is literally the first group to have pirate concept and have that kind of storyline...
there is a huge difference with the spotify audio and the mv audio, i think. the mv audio makes the whole song more disjointed with the pause right in the middle, emphasizing the transition to another genre and another scene. once i listened to the spotify audio, i was fucking addicted also, the mv was visually loaded, alongside with the genre shift and concept shifts. personally, the mv was great and all, but it was overwhelming
I'm interested to see what you think about it! After listening to the song a couple of times....... I actually kinda like it 🤭I just read a news article titled "Korean girl group goes viral for 'worst song of all time'" I felt sick to the stomach reading it like c'mon guys it wasn't THAT bad 😭The only part I really hated was the first 5 secs where it felt like the audio track AND the girls singing were like shouting at you and maybe that's the thing that put people off straight off the bat? I REALLY like the middle part of the song where it changes to a different genre (yes I kinda wish they had stuck to one genre but JYPE are trying something new and I applaud them for that 👏) also, I do think that they should have had an obvious chorus in the song (since the actual one didn't hit as had as i think it should have) but we'll just have to wait and see what they're gonna do in future comebacks I've also seen the accusations of plagiarism of Ateez and Loona..... and yeah the mv's and stuff look wayyyy too similar for that to be a "coincidence" but we shouldn't be blaming the girls for this and still be trying to support them in any way we can. Like imagine how upset and heartbroken the girls would feel reading all the comments about how they've made the "worst song of all time" you never know, they actually might really like the song and we're all just dumping so much hate on them right now it's terrible 🙈 I have to agree that some parts just don't "fit" with the song and there are definitely things I don't like about it, but there are sooo many songs that K-pop groups have released that have gotten hate for things like this and I just think it's gone viral because it's JYPE and they're rlly popular and people weren't expecting them to actually make a "bad" song lol If you haven't already, give the song a couple of listens and THEN decide if you like the song or not. Please don't start hating on the group after just listening to it one or two times, I think like 90% of people hated it on the first listen because we ALL weren't expecting what was going to happen in the song haha I think everyone just needs to keep an open mind for their next comeback, please give these girls a chance 😭
some song deserve second or third lesson... but if people don't want to give it for this song. I would understand. I personally have listen it often (not intended to... just for the sake of watching "funny reaction" like this) and already quite get used to it. but to like it? NOPE.... I believe one of the reason for many people who hates this song is, this song is a kind a offensif for people music taste and ruining people standard (especially the fans. pretty sure many of them also dislike NL but decided to like this because of biased reasons),. It's including me. As casual music fans, this song is BAD BAD. the awful mixing, the weird lyrics, the "shoog shoog" intro, the switch genre, the cringe "balla2"... although the rest of the song is okay... all the reason before is enough for me to never want to like it. It's not like NL or GTB wich weird in fist listen but can still be liked after many listen because the song is at least still deserved to call as a song (have a full song structure) and has a high quality production on it. and what people like me hates more than the song? people like you who insist telling people that this song is good. the more fans telling people that this is good, the bigger hates this song will get. that's the biggest reason why those headline viral. ofcourse it's not the worst debut song. it's just bad. but the fans themself made it viral. if only the fans stay silent and enjoying the song for themself... none of those headline would be viral.
i think you captured how i feel about this perfectly the visuals, transitions and everything else were amazing they blew me away but the song.. whenever a new kpop song comes out whether it's a new group or one i love and am familiar with i don't always love the song right away but after a while i realize how good it is. but this one just no that's all i can say i can't get behind, it just feels like there is way too much going on and none of it makes sense
now that I know the meaning of the song. the beginning is meant as a teaser. If you listen to the instrumental, it sounds like the THX sound used as an opening for movies in the cinema. the moving eyes part „shOOg shOOg shOOg“ is meant as in us having big eyes, being confused with us shaking our heads in distaste. „zOOm“ is meant as in „🤨“ our judging faces, brows furrowed making it look as if we’re trying to look closer. the „hOOk“ as in we’re hooked on the song or captain hook (bcs of the pirate ship). the popcorn and zero coke part is us sitting in the cinema, waiting for the movie to start as they said „this is just a teaser, hOOt coming soon“ so we‘re watching the commercials I believe? waiting for the movie to start but we‘re already hOOked on the song. going into the pre-chorus it says „don‘t be surprised yet“ as in the movie hasn‘t even started but we‘re already „O.O“ like this 😂
@@xlilylz that's your opinion and I can respect it. for me and the majority of people, it just felt really confusing and messy. a jumbled mess of concepts and sounds that didn't seem to blend well. the expectations were high, coming from a jyp group and all..but whatever. I'll see what their next title track will be like and decide whether I'll keep listening or not.
@@wsnrain what the majority of people think is not always correct, and more than 1 million people like the song. Are you going to disregard the feelings of such amount of people? The song gets better after listening to it multiple times. It's not NMIXX's fault that many people won't even bother to give their debut a second or third chance and will instead hate on the song from the beginning. I can understand about the plagiarism issue but that's their company's fault. I'm not even a fan but the song became more addictive to me after watching their Studio Choom performance.
@@alexss3661 Okay, but what was your INITIAL thought as soon as you listened to the song? I never invalidated other people's feelings about the song. I just tried to emphasize the reason why many others couldn't bring themselves to like the song upon first listen. I also never said anything about plagiarism, even though it's a major issue. I was strictly talking about the structure of the song. I can also mention how bad the lyrics are. Never hated on the girls.
idk if it's just me but the general reception this rookie group has been getting on the internet is kinda leading me to believe they're gonna make it big in the future lmao no, I'm serious. a lot of people went overboard bullying them, even all the way to making headlines in news outlets, this is probably the most hectic debut I've ever seen but I have this feeling that they'll do really well later down the line for some reason lmao. It always happens like that for some reason Edit: read this properly again before commenting
I don't think anyone is specifically mad at them tho... everyone I've seen who hates the song also acknowledges that the girls are extremely talented and jype is the one to blame.
I think this is not the worst debut at all. Their vocals are amazing. They are serving visuals. Serving choreo with the editing and stuff. Everything is amazing. Plus the double concept in the mv is amazing and creative. The only problem here is the lyrics doesnt fit well with the mv. The storyline of the song is a little off. However i find it rewatchabel since the girls has a lot potential in their debut. Cant wait for the comeback. Make sure to react okay jordan? 🌚📸
honestly I wasn't a fan of the song but the music video is so cool. especially the part with all the different islands. Also ur literally the funniest and best reactor ever so happy I found ur channel a couple of months ago :)
7:04 Makes sense. It's on Bae's line too. "It is just a teaser watch us coming soon". Maybe they just gave us a "spoiler" for their upcoming comebacks I guess?
Their debut song is only a teaser for their next upcoming concepts for their upcoming songs. You can see there, the MV is sort of mixed up, which shows different concepts. Also, "O.O" is more like ang eye emoji, when the lyrics is translated, it means "All eyes on NMIXX".
Haters be like O.O hahahaha You're actually right about their debut. It's just a glimpse or it's just like a long teaser. Plus jype was not claiming the experimental genre they just said that nmixx will be pushing with the mix pop genre. To create a new wave of mixing genres just like this debut song with baile funk and teen pop rock. If it's not your taste then ok have some zero coke lol. Stick with your typical song structure. No need to hate further.
Plagiarism has a lot of things that are plagiarised (ateez, aespa, itzy*even that* and even a signature) , jyp is the reason to that but if you look at the girls they deserve so much because they’re vocals and talents>>>>>
‼️FOR GOD SAKE IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT THE SIMILARITIES IN THE MV ‼️ i might just burst if i see another article or video addressing the plagiarism issue without mentioning jype copy pasting ateezs entire storyline!!!! Ateez, Edenary and KQ have worked their butts off coming up with their concepts and storyline. if you want to speak or pass a judgment on the whole issue ..please educate yourselves before blaming atinys for "overreacting" cause I'm sure you would react the same way if this happened to your favs The girls are really talented but JYPE messed up big time
Yes, absolutely agree with you!! This video is fire 🔥 and if you’re looking at the lyrics, they are saying that this is just a trailer, so it’s a very nice introduction video of the new group showing different concepts. Also the O.O as emoji as well as all the OOs in the lyrics is so creative in my opinion, but as the OO words are all English words, Koreans having difficulties understanding the lyrics, and bashing about it. It’s quite sad for a big rookie group have to experience negative comments for their debut.
We Atinys are not majorly focusing on the MV but THE STORYLINE. They have exact same story and you can check it on twt as well. And this storyline is something which ateez's producers and WHOLE TEAM THOUGHT for ATEEZ not for some big3 company to copy it. And yes apart from the storyline, MANY scenes are similar as well. We have been asking for explanation since last 4 days but sadly no response. I hope ateez gets justice and jype changes the concept.
@@fainanal9241 no, if you watch their new frontier declaration video all of the things said there is the same in ateez's crescent. They just paraphrased it. Try to search it on twitter for you to understand it more.

I think jype wants to make a publicity, either good or bad. After all, bad publicity is still publicity. whether it's good or bad, they still got what they want and it's the public's attention-
THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN THINKING. JYP Ent. isn't dumb, they knew this song would make some noise (not necessarily good noise tho) and I'm pretty sure they wanted that
NMIXX's concept, or at least this song, is called mix pop where they literally mix 2 genre in one, the reason why it looks like multiple songs and mv put together. People usually refer to it as messy but that's just how it goes.

I loved the song from the start. Both songs which they merged are great songs. I think people are making too much fuss about how they don’t match up. I find the difference very comfortable, and I love that kpop keeps pushing what pop is. I’m mostly angry about idiots scream “worst song ever” as the ones that are hurt the most are the girls, and knowing JYP idols they are the most caring people. I know haters will start vibing to the song soon!
im happy for their debut. i like the girls, they're extremely talented and worked super hard. but i just cant with the crystal clear *plagiarism* jaywhypee pls think of smth better than robbing some smaller company
About the plagiarism, I think the biggest issue for me is them copying ATEEZ’s storyline (structure, multiple same motifs) which had been a thing that has been years in the making.
Honestly as an ateez fan, I like parts of the song, and the MV is really cool, it's just so disappointing to me that JYP decided to so closely copy or take inspiration from not just ateez's MVs, but also their storyline. I like the group a lot, but it's hard for me to like them even more and support them when their storyline is a rip off of my favourite group's hard made storyline. JYP couldn't have just made something more original? It's simply because everything adds up together, the storyline, parts of the MV and one of their songs that it makes it so clear to me that they're trying to take parts of ateez's whole brand. Those are my thoughts!
The first time i saw this video i was like so confused obviously the video was amazing but the music was the one that was confusing but after hearing ur explanation to it that they can do different genres, i think this was one of the best thought out innovative debuts of kpop
not the BEST debut of all time but it definitely catches our attention to expect what was going to happen next on their career since they are from jype
i think it's because we have an expectation with jype girl groups like twice and itzy's debut song. o.o concept is really not jype's go to for a new girl groups debut but it's really setting up the girls that has so much potential but ruined it in one song. they risked too much for this debut song especially that they already has alot of issues not even a day in debut.

I really agree with him. This debut is more of an introduction to the group.

that’s literally the whole purpose of O.O 😭 if only people were willing to educate themselves before screaming on social medias…
Bad way to introduce them lmao
Yup,I think that too.We should give them chances they're good indeed with vocals, visuals, dance everything.one more thing jyp shouldn't push them into plagiarism scandals maybe it can affect their debut and hardcore ateez fans as well
True, cant wait for them to show more in the future
But it only shows 2 concepts.

Treasure is talent wasted in trash songs. Nmixx will be the female version if JYPE isn't careful
Yeah i do agree, legally speaking, of course there will be no issues here since you can't copyright scenes or certain elements in a music video. But ethically speaking, it might reflect negatively on the company or even the group.
yea as a group from the big 3 it could have been way better ; - ; jyp did a bad job this time
It's also the concept which has been replicated here. I think that shouldn't be done either.
Ethically, yeah...
thanks for mentioning about the plagiarism, just wanted to say that even if 7-10 similarities in music videos are ignored as mere "coincidence" the storyline certainly can NOT. ateez's whole storyline of being pirates who dream of a utopia, and set sail on a voyage to find it(while struggling with differentiating dreams and reality) was copied word for word. not even kidding every single word of atz's songs was in nmix's concept description. makes me sad to see big company artist's copy the hardwork of small company artist's and get away w it
You can write that the company (jyp ent.) and the group management are at fault but not the girls or pls not jyp xD The girls did their best at performing and I swear Nayeon from Twice didn't even like their first release "I'm gonna be a star" but gave her all at performing. I think that is what nmixx are experiencing right now.

And I heavily despise the zip zap zoom come on come on whatever lyric. I'm fine with listening to the rest of the song now, but every time that part comes up, It's so hard to listen to. I just wish they made up some sort of concept for the lyrics instead of adding random words that don't make sense or don't work together
Yes!!!! I've been listening to it on loop too
💯
I agree with this. The song is great but not as a debut song but as next comeback.
What's the purpose of the Song then lol
the lyrics actually suit a „debut“ the best (knowing how they talk about us being in a cinema, seeing a teaser/trailer), would‘ve loved it more if it was a pre-debut song tho
The Best Debut MV Ever❤️
I honestly love the song. The transitions are bomb I'm sure he is gonna freak out.
Actually this is a VERY SMART debut.
This song is not just a teaser but it's also a cipher.
(Cipher is a secret way of writing; Remember the lyrics about 0 and 1 which is a binary code).
There is even a lyric in the song:
"do you see the mazes of 0’s and 1’s?"
And also:
“Zero plus zero equals infinity”
This song can be read as O.O or zero.zero(0.0)
The binary code bits never end, it goes on forever which they could possibly be saying we’ll “never end”.
A medley is also something artists use in concerts to START a concert as an INTRO, Which is why it would make sense as to why they do not have a normal format of a song….(which is why they have no chorus, no pre-chorus, no bridge)
other fun theory is:
JYP wanted the whole world to know about them (0.0 IP address to the rest of the world). We think THIS WHOLE THING WAS PLANNED. It’s going the way they expected it to go, all the HATE love etc. They wanted people to be confused with the song and even possibly hate it. Who knows maybe they did this ALL on purpose 🤔 Let’s see how it all plays out.
Yes love this
The debut should catch people's attention and want them to listen to their next songs but I think they failed in this. They might be saving something for later and trying to put that as a cipher in their debut, but it is unlikely people would go for their next songs since their debut song wasn't good enough.
okay but this pov✨✨10/10 chef's kiss
As of today, tons of people are going insane with how o.o built and it’s really good ❤️
My god-
The theory is just amazing!!!!
I love this song and have loved it since the teasers. Honestly people need to stop hating on them and chill its a debut song man
They say imitation is the best form of flattery ....So ATEEZ ego should be soaring high! Well done boys
well done Ateez!! 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👑
Ayo!
Honestly I don't blame the Girls for the plagiarism and all, The company should be the one to be blamed, They literally wasted the Girls talents *smh smh*
No one is blaming the girls, everyone is calling out JYPE specifically
@@sidiquerodney4982 literally no atiny is blaming the girls. The hashtags were trending on twitter has no mention of nimxx anywhere only JYP or JYPE.
I like when kyujin chorus says watch out baila baila baila and I like the brick wall she runs and it’s so good to me!
Indeed
Facts!!!
They also copied enhpen’s debut album but with other words that mean the same
@@ilinnn_si3418 I’m curious. Which album did they copied of off?
Tbh jype did them dirty in giving them a messy debut, some people really went overboard in bullying the girls when it’s actually jype fault, hope the girls are ok tho
If it weren’t so messy and if it didn’t have lots of other groups ideas and stuff in it I say it would have been a awesome debut
Yeah totally agree
I love the song and the concept, I don't think It's the "worst" debut ever, I actually think It's one of the best debuts, I don't know why
Me too
Unpopular opinion: if this was released by a non big 3 group no one would have looped this song 70 times to get used to it and call it a 'bop'
(Imo this song sucked, and i just know jyp did this for publicity. Including the plagiarism shit. By the next cb even if they get just a slightly better song than this, people are gonna call it SOTY.)
Lmao this is just so truee
Sad but true, that's just how it is with big companies.
That is fact....I am agree with you
What a great point out der. It really made me realize something. Thankyou for that :)
Exactly so the story line PLUS the similar mv scenes is just WAY TOO MUCH TO BE A COINCIDENCE!
EXACTLY!!! Im not even really an ATINY but i know how hard ATEEZ and their company worked!! I think everyone knows that!!
ikr! I’m personally not a fan of ATEEZ and their music but I feel so sad knowing that jyp just ripped off of them like

I think Jordan may be the only person who _actually understood_ what "O.O" and its MV were going for
He pointed out a LOT of things I never noticed despite many rewatches of the video, especially the perfect transitions
(FWIW, NMIXX's 2nd single, which drops 12hrs after I type this, seems to be far more cohesive, and the 7 girls have spent the past 6 months showing, live onstage, they can and will slay basically every concept imaginable)
There's so many fun dance moves and "killing parts" to keep you engaged!
and there isn’t the awkward silence in studio version
Its such a bad song
Exactly! I thought that mixing a lot of different things into the song was the hole point of the group. I mean their name is literally nMIXx!!
No its bad. Your just forcing yourself to like it because it's from jyp
The plagiarism issue is just not about mv similarities,or location similarities, its about ateez storyline, its about their individuality in kpop industry,
From choreo ,upto storyline,
All matched to ateez that itself says that their content was not original,
Definitely girls are talented, but giving them copied content is even disrespectfull for their talent
The copying is so obvious, but people are still in denial, like??
@@exo_ateez1020 fr... I cant believe they are still denying it when Ateez is literally the first group to have pirate concept and have that kind of storyline...

after listening to o.o a few times, i became obsessed.
there is a huge difference with the spotify audio and the mv audio, i think. the mv audio makes the whole song more disjointed with the pause right in the middle, emphasizing the transition to another genre and another scene. once i listened to the spotify audio, i was fucking addicted
also, the mv was visually loaded, alongside with the genre shift and concept shifts. personally, the mv was great and all, but it was overwhelming
I REALLY like the middle part of the song where it changes to a different genre (yes I kinda wish they had stuck to one genre but JYPE are trying something new and I applaud them for that 👏) also, I do think that they should have had an obvious chorus in the song (since the actual one didn't hit as had as i think it should have) but we'll just have to wait and see what they're gonna do in future comebacks
I've also seen the accusations of plagiarism of Ateez and Loona..... and yeah the mv's and stuff look wayyyy too similar for that to be a "coincidence" but we shouldn't be blaming the girls for this and still be trying to support them in any way we can. Like imagine how upset and heartbroken the girls would feel reading all the comments about how they've made the "worst song of all time" you never know, they actually might really like the song and we're all just dumping so much hate on them right now it's terrible 🙈
I have to agree that some parts just don't "fit" with the song and there are definitely things I don't like about it, but there are sooo many songs that K-pop groups have released that have gotten hate for things like this and I just think it's gone viral because it's JYPE and they're rlly popular and people weren't expecting them to actually make a "bad" song lol
If you haven't already, give the song a couple of listens and THEN decide if you like the song or not. Please don't start hating on the group after just listening to it one or two times, I think like 90% of people hated it on the first listen because we ALL weren't expecting what was going to happen in the song haha I think everyone just needs to keep an open mind for their next comeback, please give these girls a chance 😭
So you like it or not(the song)
This !!!
WE NEED TO MAKE THIS VIRAL
Is it ok if we copied this and pasted it in literally every o.o video
some song deserve second or third lesson... but if people don't want to give it for this song.
I think this is just teaser debut for their real comeback after this 🤩.
That’s what I’m saying!
YES!
i honestly feel bad for them i mean the superhero part wasn’t bad but the beginning was concerning
now that I know the meaning of the song. the beginning is meant as a teaser.

@@wsnrain what the majority of people think is not always correct, and more than 1 million people like the song. Are you going to disregard the feelings of such amount of people? I think this is not the worst debut at all. Their vocals are amazing. They are serving visuals. Serving choreo with the editing and stuff. Everything is amazing. Plus the double concept in the mv is amazing and creative. The only problem here is the lyrics doesnt fit well with the mv. The storyline of the song is a little off. you addressed the issue so well, as an atiny im subscribing!
Their debut song is only a teaser for their next upcoming concepts for their upcoming songs. You can see there, the MV is sort of mixed up, which shows different concepts. Also, "O.O" is more like ang eye emoji, when the lyrics is translated, it means "All eyes on NMIXX".
Haters be like O.O hahahaha
You're actually right about their debut.

Wasnt the nmixx story just fans theories rather than something official?
