I've built a lot of these, and feel free to reach out with any questions. The Kellogg crank has routinely seen 2300 hp, the owner of accufab racing has done this. The teksid block can see 1200hp with no issues, if the rods and pistons are upgraded.
The noise in the beginning of the video sounded like the famed head tick that the early engines could suffer from.
All of the 8 bolt cranks are forged Kellogg cranks. The 6 bolt cranks are cast cranks. I could go on and on.

The mod motor Ford line up used 6 bolts flywheel like you said. Also the 98 Mustang GT and Ford trucks in 98 also used the 8 bolts flywheel. Mod motor you can put the heads and intake of those two motors on the 4.6 5.4 motors. Bolts on. I a retired Ford Senior Master Tech and automatic transmission technician

Thanks for the awesome information! I'm beginning to despise flexplates. Apparently the 351W was never meant to be mated with the AOD transmission, and allegedly if I use the flexplate from the original 302 it will push into the pump and murder my transmission as soon as I put it in gear. And then there's the other camp that says it will be just fine and go ahead and do it. I don't mind research, but I hate it when research returns conflicting answers. But since my garage isn't heated and I'm a big baby, I've got time to get a definitive answer before I move forward.

351 imbalance weight stayed at 28oz. 302 changed to 50oz in 81 or 82 when they changed it to the 5.0. So there is a definite balance issue. P/A transmission used to offer what you needed. Although I don't know if they still do.

One small issue... Super Couples never got the V8. They ran a supercharged 3.8 V6.
However, in 96-97, you could get a "Sport" with a V8 and I had one! Basically, leftover Super Coupe suspension under a 4.6SOHC. They were so close to something truly badass though... the 1998 Thunderbird SVE had a supercharged DOHC V8 with a T45 Transmission and 17" Cobra R rims. 3 of the 4 prototypes have been destroyed since then and IDK where the lone survivor is :(
