Very strange to hear a 1958 born king speaking here, Nicholas II from Russia was never heard speaking really in the films. But the sad massacre was avoiding that in 1918. I think, that in the 1920´s Nicholas family could have spoken in their own voices, if they had survived in 1918. Gustav V was about ten years older than the last tsar in Russia. It was strange indeed.
I’ll preface this by saying it’s really difficult to understand and discern what he’s saying since he’s speaking with this, to my ears, unusual, old-timey, skåne-with-some-royalty-mixed in-accent. The clip is also from 72 years ago as of this year and they spoke differently back then but I’ll try my best, here we go: “I’ve been deeply moved by all the kindness, which in such a rich measure has been brought to me. To all my Swedish folk I express a heartfelt thanks. Throughout my long lifespan I have obtained so much proof of affection and trust which has facilitated my effort for our beloved motherland’s good fortune and prosperity. With the help of God I hope we shall face a path of happiness and a bright future. If all of us jointly work toward achieving this goal, Sweden’s prosperity. God bless you all!

I think you mean 1858.
Dude why do people making everything related to royalty about the Romanovs????
There are also voice records of his father, King Oscar II, born 1829.

@@Adski975 Thank you so much!
@@dennizz1988 Happy to help.
@@Adski975 in the second lacuna of the translation the word is clearly "välgång" (roughly prosperity in English)
@@jaojao1768 Yeah, now I hear it. His uttering of the word was just so faint it was hard to hear, I'll make an edit.
