They didn't expose Jokić, they exposed our coach who put him 12 minutes on the bench. They weren't even shooting threes that well when they were 10 points behind. Don't get me wrong, Italy did great, but it wasn't Jokić's fault but Pešić's

true, this comes from the choice of pozzecco to create an invisibile empty area between the centre area and refueling of passes serbian players to jokic, he used players without ball possession to disturb many times him and push the guards always to find an "easy" shoot 2/3 meters farther from the original choice, it's a bit risk if guards have hot hands but at the same time he protected the real critic of his team (centre area that conversely was on of the plus of serbia) in my modest opinion pozzecco did a real masterpiece of tactic

Don't be ridiculous... Jokic scored 32 points in less than 29 minutes, and he was the top scorer, top rebounder, and the most efficient player on the court. Basketball is a team sport!

One of the reasons why we lost this game is the same as the reason why we are in deep trouble in Mundobasket qualifiers - it's Pesic vanity. Much like he held Jokic on the bench for the most of 4th quarter,he took out Avramovic who was on fire in our qualifying game against Belgium. Even when they overturned the result,he kept him on the bench until the game was over and we've lost. He was great coach but at age of 73 he's not a coach for team with serious ambitions.
To put the Serbia's defensive collapse all on Jokic is a bit overboard. Their defense looked even worse when he wasn't playing too.

I’m not sure what moon phase was on the 11th of September, but the second day of playoffs had 3 of 4 games won by the betting underdogs. And that’s not even the crazy bit, 3 of them ended with the EXACT same score (94-86) 🤯

The serbians scored also 18 points (11 only in the first half) with free shots on fouls. Fouls that in the most cases are INEXISTENT, or worst when the referee gave a serbian attack foul to Italy as a defensive foul... so Italy finished the bonus every time in a short period. Without the incompetence of referees, many (at least 10) of these points were not scored by Serbia... which would have lost anyway.
And if we scored more free throws (we had a 10/15)...

And I don't think that Jokic had a "bad day" at all... he scored 32 points, and he was the top scorer and top rebounder of the match! But Italy forund a way to neutralize every other player, and also to in some way "contain" Jokic's impact during secod half, helkped by serbian coach that kept Jokic on bech for I think 12 minutes... ;)

Italy getting to the final beating Slovenia would be one of those stories you can remember for life. In order to make this happen we have to prove great consistence at this level which we haven't done yet.
When you are so dependable on the 3-ball, the consistency is a tricky part. You never know which Italy you might face.
If Italy shoting like a againts serbia, they can beat any team in this euro. But i thing for that scenario chanses are small.
Italy can 't meet Slo in the finals, only in the semi's.
If Slovenia plays the D that Greece played with Italy in the group stage, then you have no chance at all, if Luka is fit enough. You can't always win expecting every 3 point shot to go inside

They didn't expose Jokic, the title is misleading.
Serbia shot three points awful in that match, three players that played longest minutes in Serbia's team had 1/15 for three, and that is the biggest reason for losing the game.
Lucic, Micic and Guduric had 1/15 for three, when you add Jaramaz and Milutinov who also played awful you have a catastrophe which happened.
Jokic on the other hand is not an alien, in only 28 min of play, he delivered 32pts, 8/14, 13rbs, 4ast, 2stl, 1bl and had an overall EFF of 41, the biggest in the game by far.
Respect to Italy, but Serbia defeat themselves here with very low shooting performance and with lousy play from bench.

@@minnuss Even if Jokic stayed on court Italy would have done the same. They had the energy and the defence it was needed. The full comeback happened with Jokic inside the court. And Milutinov is a great player, but with Italy's energy and Serbia's non-existent defence in the second half noone could have done anything.

As a Serb I congratulate Italy on their lion heart of a performance.. their incredible spirit and belief justifies the epic victory. However this had little to do with Jokic..
Poor tactics from coach Pesic.. Micic and others looked like they took sleeping pills for the next flight far too early.. Italy's shooting became🔥and Serbia left with 🎻

technical analysis goes as far as you want, but as a fact, no one could predict that Spissu, a player averaging 3.8 points a game to this point, would nail 6 3 pointers in a row. the history of the game is mostly this.

Again with clickbaiting, Jokic did everything you would expect from him for all games, even the one we lost. It was simple Italy was better that day, they hit 16 three, 16?!? Also we couldn't hit anything, bad rotations, Jokic didn't play half of the 4th quarter, but again even though it's not easy to admit it Italy was better. But to say Jokic was exposed it's just plain stupid, he did his part but not even him can win alone.

The thing is that Serbia had a great team. That's why it was such an achievement for Italy. On the other hand, Greece didn't have a good team. We had Giannis, but one players is not enough. The other players were used only to help Giannis. We weren't a united team. It was just the superstar Giannis. Also we(greeks) probably had the worst defense in the whole eurobasket

Nah some of the plays you showed really werent jokic fault or he just straight up played good d on some of them. Like the one qwith the pick and pop where lucic got faked or when jokic closed out after the switch really werent on him. Its unrealistic to ask a player of his isze to cover the pick, drive and shot at the same time. One on of the plays lucic should have covered the paint and given the three since jokic was far away Jokic shouldnt have gotten confused and gotten to the paint but still. Instead he got stuck in no mans land leading to an open lay up. on 6:05 jokic had the play covered but micic went for the steal for some reason

I think Serbia will have some great regrets to not have a playmaker like Teodosic in this game. I'm an Olimpia Milano super-fan, and you know Teodosic is in our "nemesis" squad, Virtus Bologna, but objectively I have to say that he's an outstanding, unique playmaker. Serbia has so many ultra-talented players, but missed a true leader, such Teodosic cuold have been.

Serbia and Jokic would beat them 10 games for every 1 game Italy won. This is why it’s an upset and why the Italian coach basically went bizarrely mad and verged on needing medication. The key point here is that Serbia left the Jokic on the bench too long at a crucial time of the game. We occasionally see this in Denver, and Coach Malone has said as much. But the exposed statement including Jokic is stupid and a silly comment.

They scored like 30 points creating advantages through him. He was +14 because of his offense, but they exposed him defensively.

Serbia was winning when Jokic was on the floor , plus 12 for Serbia when he exited five minutes before the end of the second quarter , Italians went on the run with Jokic being out and reduced the lead to -6. Our guards our horrible on both ends. But even with that if Jokic have played at least 35 minute this game, Serbia would have won the game.

They actually have got horrible whistle on serbjia too in some point of the game, my personal opion is refs during this tournment got tremendous embaracced, FIBA should take some actions the level of the game is growing, refs not.

Italy entered this match more prepared. The indolence and slackness of the Serbian professional staff is incomprehensible. There are no prepared defensive tasks, no diversity in attack. Serbia's attack cannot be through just one player.
Marko Pozzeko put on a real show for the whole hall. And the Serbian team sat in the first row. Why does no one from the coaching staff of Serbia know that Pozzeco has been suspended 8 times in the club he leads. And all 8 times his team won after his performance.
Everyone from the Serbian team greets the Italian coach when he leaves the hall. Headed by Danilović. The reaction of our team is shameful and they are dragged into this game. Pešić is no longer fit to be a coach. Danilović can no longer be the president of the basketball association. It's time for them to go, while they are still legends..
I don't think they entered more prepared, and the 1st quarter proves it. But when Serbia failed to continue strong, they sensed the weakness and started believing they could win. And that lasted long two quarters, 2nd and 3rd...
@@59vlada if you watch the video of the game, look closely at the behavior of Pozzeco in the 1st quarter. When he got the first technical foul and when he threatened the delegate. It is clear that he will be kicked out.
He knows the capabilities of his players and knows how to emotionally change the course of a game. The Italian headquarters prepared this scenario in advance.

The reason Serbia lost is because their demented coach, playing Jokic for less than 30minutes in a game like this, forgeting to cut the streak with a time out and puting the right players on the court in the right time. All this is on him, plus some players that were just not there in the second half

Only one to blame is Pesic. Jokic must play when score is not good for Serbia. Teodosic or Bogdanović would probably keep other players calm, but it is what it is. Well deserved win for Italy.

You showed it yourself, Italians made a lot of open shots. Serbs, on the other side, did not. That was a big difference. Also, Italians had open shots because of opponent bad defensive organisation. Not just Jokic's one.
Jokic did not need the rest. He could play 40 minutes. But, somebody decided Serbia did not need him.
