Boys I've come to the conclusion that Billy Slater is now not as Queenslander as he is Victorian which may be his problem. Born 1983, 2003 at 20 years old moves to Melbourne, dominates origin for years as player then coach until 2024! At age 41 with 21 years in Victoria he is now majority a Victorian hence the changing of the guard. I just feel no-one is talking about this, why?
Great point, but I think the main factor is Billy not being a former NRL coach. When both sides are evenly matched. The better coach tends to get the result.
