  • Easter was a bit wet in the Blue Mountains which made this track along the powerlines at Lithgow a bit extra muddy and slippery.
Both vans have a rear air locker. The van with the mud tyres has an open front diff and auto hubs. The other van has AT tyres, locked front diff and manual hubs. Can you spot the difference?

Great video. That trail looks so fun. I also love the sound effect made when the van didn't clear the last part of the first segment.

looks like fun. had mine 16 years as a work vehicle. I made some two inch tyre chains just for situations like this for farm work, low range first it's almost as good as the tractor, diesel power though , petrols are too rev happy.

vnewarp9 They are great little vans. I am quite hsppy with the petrol engine. Diesel is better at low rpm but petrol just does the job, usually. 4.875 diff ratios help. And the 145 hp is nice for sand driving and on-road. Although it is no race car.

Nice recovery on that climb! It's so funny hearing these things whine out the petrol engine. Would you ever give a diesel a go?

The diesel would be great for its torque at low rpm. But the petrol drives really smooth, stays cool at all times and is a bigger powerhouse than the turbo diesel. We have highways here with big long hills so I really would miss the difference in horsepower.
Maybe electric is the way to go, as a hybrid due to long stretches without anything. Or a 3.9 litre diesel. Or a supercharger on the 2.4 petrol?

Maybe use a mud Terrain tire with less air pressure
