Baron, the reason why the units backup and fall is because they are using a ranged weapon but their movement type was set to melee if you want to make them stay when firing just change their movement type to ranged. I hope this helped!

Baron I demand you play animal revolt battle simulator. It's the same idea as tabs, but it's different and very fun. It's got a very in-depth unit creator and buildings as well

You have to set the units as ranged style and not melee so they don't retreat when they are in range (this will make them not jump off the map)
Actually ranged makes them back up
