This is a really useful project, can be easily made at home. With it, we easy to remove electronic components.
Thanks for watching, Have a great day !
I really appreciate all the safety stuff he considered during build.
You bullshit
Safety? Guy has burn marks all over his hands
@@monad_tcp r/woosh
yeah the way he was breathing all that Lead seemed super safe
@@kareemelabkary7611 in all fairness lead is the least of his concerns, lead from solder does not vaporise, the fumes you see is steam from the flux, though this is a huge waste as you can just melt lead from fishing sinkers or car batteries, this guy wastes tonnes of lead most of which I bet spilled out of the chinesium quality holder he made
The melting point of lead is 327°C and the ignition point of wood is approximately 180°C. The charing you're seeing is known as "pyrophoric carbon". This can combust at lower temperatures than raw wood.
So what isnt this project cannot work using wood

ur incredible... love the way you self create something so usefull from the junks...
This is a great project. I've always had trouble desoldering components with more than two legs. Idk if these are commercially available, but they definitely should be. It's a great tool.
You can use a desoldering pump. They work well without the risk of overheating anything.
This can't be used to remove 1or2 components, this should be used only if want to remove 80%of components
A hot air station is cheaper than this crap
@@гопник-ю7ж and far safer also
Well done! Definitely a time-saver! I hope you have good venting in there... The gases from all that soldering can be hazardous to your health...
You can solve that easy. :)
You just give up your hobby or a career if only you're afraid to be unwell by the gas coming out from the soldering.
@@mgmg-nr2dj But the solution is quite easy, just put a fan in there. He reused a component from an old rice cooker, he can find a computer fan and attach a filter on it.
Thanks , great video .. I like how you even show how to get the part from old cooker and then online as well . Furthermore and even better is how you open it up and show what inside of the thing and how it works . 2 thumbs up well done ..
I've been making rice with my solder pot for years
good

You what now

Nice idea, but!
1) You must attach the element shell to the ground with high temperature resistant wire (to prevent electric shock);
2) You must connect the switch to the line, and polarized plug (preferably a bipolar switch);
3) It is highly recommended to add a fuse to the live line;
4) It is best to add control interface to the heat output;
5) You must use Lead-free solder, and should be without soldering flux (to prevent toxicity).
Good luck!
Lead-free solder requires higher temperatures, and doesn't work as well as leaded solder.
And yes, it's better to use a solder bar as it doesn't contain flux.
@@imnotbeluga007 You are very right!!
@@imnotbeluga007 sir, I beg you. Answer me, why, oh, why are you not Beluga?
Great stuff man, thanks a lot.
It is better if you use a blowing fan so the lead fumes go away from you.
Also if you do it outside in open air that is much better in addition to a blowing fan.
Lead solder doesn't make fumes, that's steam from the flux.
Bom dia meu amigo.
use solder bars instead.. they doesn't contain flux in them.... and nice video 😃
Preverse_Wharf_45 CSSO oh, i didn't know that. normal soldering wire leave a lot of flux impurities. i should try to use them. thanks

Nice idea, but will need a temperature controller, otherwise you might end up with lead vapors (you don't want that).
and a earth wire, I bet you it's CE approved too hahahaha :)

I've always been impressed with your videos. Good work.
Finally a good video from this channel
This is just what I need that works quick to depopulate alot of small circuits I have. Yes there are other ways but this will cost nothing more than my time. Seen alot of valid comments and my biggest concern is that .. Primarily wearing a mask is ABSOLUTELY A MUST.! As far as connecting a earthing wire I think it really depends what the regs are in your country as i simply find at least in Australia that most of the electrical devices don't have the earth wire connected and all houses by law have a RCD.
great job. but a de-soldering pump isn't too expensive. :)
Cantik sekali kak, Terimakasih inspirasinya
It could be usefull. I remember how many times I struggled during desoldering parts for reuse... I'd like to try make something similar.
Wow , good and easy method to desoldering. I fully support your art and technique. 🎁💯🎁💯🎁💯🎁💯🎁💯🎁✌
neat idea. I think I will try to source DC parts to make a slightly safer one.
ThriftStore Hacker DC is very safe
Not high voltage.
Neither are safe. Low voltage AC and DC are relative safe (5-24V)
It's really cool! Hello from Russia! 🙂
You have 30$ of solder there for 12$ you can buy hot air gun and 2$ regulator = cheaper + less gases

@@nomesobrenome1062 we tend to use lead free solder
Well this is more easy to remove some parts than hot air.
For anyone doing this at home -- please do this outside. The flux fumes are no good. Also connect Earth/ground to the metal tray or you could suffer an instant death by touching it if there is a short on the chassis

Though it's not a new invention, i liked your idea

i would recommend to have the hot plate earthed for safety reasons but nice video
One of the best projects ever
Get a vent hood, or use one of the blowers you made to vent that outside. Fun stuff otherwise. Keep hacking!
this is a really good idea!!! well done
It needs a temperature sensor and/or regulator so we know how hot it is.
djdrwatson yeah, if you keep this on too long it will burn and blow your fuses
yes, you right...it need temp control
mmm...wht is optimal temp for this project?
Sapigokil Sama 300-400 degrees
Just put your finger in there, and you will know... its a solder pot, not a spaceship!

Yes, but when the heating wire burns out he is already dead because of the missing grounding. The fire does not bother him then, but his family members saved some money at the funeral (Cremation is supposed to be cheaper).
@@machdeglotzenuff The nichrome wire is insulated top, bottom, and in between... so if it breaks (or burns out, as you say) it will simply not work anymore. No connection, no heat. Please explain in detail where the fire is supposed to be originating from.

better than desoldering by gun...good one bro
why didnt you use lead free solder?
Jony Schn it is harder to melt
Jony Schn why would you get cancer from lead solder?
lead solder is not good for use with electronics. ive used unleaded solder before, and by the time i used up the roll my 10$ soldering tip was destroyed. don't use unleaded solder

I dont understand your comment: Lead solder is no good and dont use unleaded solder... wtf xd
and most lead free solder contains flux which also causes cancer

live in the country? cancer

I bet you it's CE approved too hahahaha :)

WTF ! ,, Why no earth ground ?
WTF ! U r an idiot
Don't worry, that's called natural selection.
n1sen He should have earthed the aluminium plate just in case the plate and the power source get connected by accident (e.g. due to wet wood)
Pikachu Manzano i dont see why the power source would get get connected by it self to the plate.
Any exposed conductive surface MUST be grounded for safety reason.
Brilliant idea and convincing result - I'm now looking for an old rice cooker.
