      @alexanderwoolley1623 Год назад +2

      @@kareemelabkary7611 in all fairness lead is the least of his concerns, lead from solder does not vaporise, the fumes you see is steam from the flux, though this is a huge waste as you can just melt lead from fishing sinkers or car batteries, this guy wastes tonnes of lead most of which I bet spilled out of the chinesium quality holder he made

  • @mspeir
    @mspeir 5 лет назад +81

    The melting point of lead is 327°C and the ignition point of wood is approximately 180°C. The charing you're seeing is known as "pyrophoric carbon". This can combust at lower temperatures than raw wood.

    Nice idea, but!
    1) You must attach the element shell to the ground with high temperature resistant wire (to prevent electric shock);
    2) You must connect the switch to the line, and polarized plug (preferably a bipolar switch);
    3) It is highly recommended to add a fuse to the live line;
    4) It is best to add control interface to the heat output;
    5) You must use Lead-free solder, and should be without soldering flux (to prevent toxicity).
    Good luck!

    • @imnotbeluga007
      @imnotbeluga007 2 года назад +1

      Lead-free solder requires higher temperatures, and doesn't work as well as leaded solder.
      And yes, it's better to use a solder bar as it doesn't contain flux.

Seen alot of valid comments and my biggest concern is that .. Primarily wearing a mask is ABSOLUTELY A MUST.! As far as connecting a earthing wire I think it really depends what the regs are in your country as i simply find at least in Australia that most of the electrical devices don't have the earth wire connected and all houses by law have a RCD.
