So many people comment on how underrated this band was and how they never got enough are played.. But you know what ...everybody that needed to hear This Record got to hear This Record.. it did not need AirPlay to be a great album.. just heard by those that can truly appreciate it
I discovered this band when got out of basic training at FT.DIX NJ in the Army 1984 and loved them ever since. HOOAH ARMY STRONG 1984-1991 DESERT STORM ARMY VET.
This is the foundation of what rock n roll is about! Just complete talent and most of us appreciate & love what you all do! So appreciated and loved! 🤘
I don't know what possessed me to look Badlands up. I haven't thought about or listened to any of this album in over 20 years. Still as awesome as I remember.
I remember seeing them in 1989 at Freedom Hall in Johnson City TN. They opened for Tesla and Great White. I believe it was on Halloween night? Jake E. Lee had a big knee bandage because he had recently had surgery. Great show from beginning to end.
Ray was such a great hard rock/heavy blues vocalist...and this song was so damn strong! the way this album opened with Highwire and Dreams In The Dark was them saying "listen up, motherfuckers!" Bands like this were so underappreciated and missed in the climate of shit music that's out there today.
Rest in peace Ray Gillen and Paul O'Neill 🌹 Both legends gone too soon, but will never be forgotten! This album is way under-rated. A true hidden gem. 💎
Loved both the CD's that they put out before Ray passed away. I am so glad that I got to see them in concert. Twice in Tampa, Florida and the last time in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Air Force Academy.
I saw Black Sabbath on their Seventh Star Tour 1986 in Toronto with Ray Gillan on vocals and Eric Singer on drums . Gillen had a great voice . Was lucky enough to see Jake E Lee when he was in Ozzys band . 🤟🤟
A feller back in the days ....im 54 now though then we were maybe 23 or so put this in the cd player at work and i loved it......look up todays 3rd street chaos to hear the southern metal of today
Z rock. Remember that? I used to listen to that AM station, low fi heavy rock LOL. But it didn't matter as it was music one wouldn't hear on FM. And is how I met this band. And after buying the album, this song became a favorite track. (edit) love the sitar in the outro.
Hello, in my opinion this album really is one of the best ever in rock history. Fantastic musicians, great Songs. Jake in best shape......timeless, unbelievable.Thank you for uploading and the best wishes from Germanistan
every single song on this album is solid. I'll never understand how they didn't blow up. Same type of awesome as the first Guns and ROses. Same time period
I remember dancing in rock clubs in the UK around 1990 to Badlands, Great White, Vain, Smashed Gladys and other bands like this. In my opinion it was a golden period for American rock music, even alongside all the hair bands and glam rock out of LA.
Weird. Made a comment ~2 months ago. Last night I dreamt telling a guitar buddy (I haven't seen for ages) about this song and jakes playing. Woke up, looked at my phone notifications and my previous comment had a like on it. 😂 🤔
Unfortunately their record label attempted to bury them shortly after this because of what happened to ray . Very sad . Voodoo highway kicks ass ! Actually like it better than the debut sometimes if you haven’t listened to it check it out I know it’s up on RUclips
Falling leaves have changed their color Winter's on its way I'm lookin' for the sunny part of town And even now I hear the wicked cold winds call me They say my don't fly away Drink the woman Feel the heat front a fire's blaze You take a long walk In those lonely winter days You hear her cry cut in the cold Baby, hold me, hold me Don't fly away Winter's cold winds call me Gonna leave it all behind Summer breezes fill my mind Fill my mind, oh yes they do now *Winter's cold winds call me Gonna leave it all behind Summer breezes fill my mind (They) Fill my mind, All your love Is what I need from you All your love Is gonna keep me warm Through the winter storm I give it to you, baby You give it to me now, mama Winter's cold winds call me Gonna leave it all behind Summer breezes fill my mind (They) Fill my mind, All your love Is what I need from you All your love Is gonna keep me warm Through the winter storm I give it to you, baby You give it to me now, mama Give it to you, baby All your love Oh All your love Is what I need from you All your love Is gonna keep me warm, so warm All your love Is what I need from you All your love Is gonna keep me warm Through the winter storm I give it to you, baby You give it to me now, mama I give to you, baby You give it to me now, baby I need it from you now, baby Give it to me now, mama All your love, all your love Give it to me now, baby Give it to you now, mama All your love, all your love
Love this band to this day! Awesome shit! I loved this song, especially! All their songs on the two albums i bought back then were killer! Never got the third album, i think called "Dusk". Will try to find it somewhere. R.I.P. Ray Gillen! He was a great vocalist! Too bad they disbanded. What a killer band at the time! Damn!
I just discovered this band only because their drummer played on the Michael Schenker/Pete Way "The Plot" album, I looked up to see who the drummer was
Great band, one of my all time favorite albums. Ray on vocals, wicked good, Jake on guitar, sans a tremolo, vintage honest playing that got the best of every note. Eric, solid beat, that keeps the mayhem contained, Greg, bad ass bass player that knew pedal tones on bass an their importance in blues rock. Underrated is an understatement, just saying. Listen for yourself.
So many people comment on how underrated this band was and how they never got enough are played.. But you know what ...everybody that needed to hear This Record got to hear This Record.. it did not need AirPlay to be a great album.. just heard by those that can truly appreciate it
I really appreciate it. They are amazing they are should be rock roll of fame. That band is really rock. Not like today.
But it is better than anything Poison ever put out lol
I bought this when it was on cassette tape! Rocked back then and still kicks a.. today!
@@melissapehrson9767 you're a good woman lol
@@melissapehrson9767 me too, back in June of 1989, how the hell did 32+ years whip by????
God Bless Ray Gillen 🙏🏻🎶🎵

Jake e. Lee... Always a tasty and melodic player!! What a fantastic guitarist.... Brilliant!!
Jake E. Lee is such a phenomenal guitar player, I feel he is very underrated and doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves.
SeanDunsell
Hopefully my new thumbs up will remind you AGAIN of this awesome band after your 4 year old comment

Yep, me too, 2024! Timeless ..
I remember seeing them in 1989 at Freedom Hall in Johnson City TN. They opened for Tesla and Great White. I believe it was on Halloween night? Jake E. Lee had a big knee bandage because he had recently had surgery. Great show from beginning to end.

Sadly it got lost in the shuffle of the shit music that was happening back then as well.
Best Comment Award...
Great show at the Hollywood palace
KInda how Tesla introduced themselves on "Mechanical Resonance" with "Cumin Atcha LIve" and "Ez Come, Ez Go". Was like "here we are mutherfuckers"!
Saw them in lampe Missouri, Jake had a broken leg, and a chair he didn't use much but they kicked total Ass !
One of The Greatest Vocalist ever.
All bands that begin with B kicked ass!!
Yeah…he could chirp !
No pipes like that before or since. Especially in that package. Woof

All killer, no filler
Great Album
The outro solo to this song gives me shivers.
It is so great to be hearing this super good band again. They certainly put out some great music for us. Hope the memory of Badlands never fades.

This was my favorite song off the album when i first got it back in '89! Killer song! Killer vibe to the song, too!
I really miss the 80's and 90's era

Such a killer song off an album full of killer songs. Criminally unknown by so many people.

Wouldn't go that far.
What a singer. For sure on my top five which includes Freddie Mercury.
Add Dio to the list. Some of the best ever
Rob halford and Geoff Tate
Paul Rodgers still brings it and he's over 70
every single song on this album is solid. I'll never understand how they didn't blow up. Same type of awesome as the first Guns and ROses. Same time period
Management sucked maybe.
Grunge happened.
Cheers ✌️ c5
Much better than GNR
1989? Where the f have I been... I'm old enough. I should know this.
A true gem!
Purest strip down form of rock
Which sounds so good you literally can’t believe it
You have to hear to believe it
Favorite song on an amazing album
Amazing Band! Badlands! ❤🤘🇱🇷🇧🇷🎵🎶

amazing band.1 of my fav songs winter's call
One the great rock albums ever!
R.I.P. Ray had the voice of an angel ans was taken from us far too soon
Weird. Made a comment ~2 months ago. Last night I dreamt telling a guitar buddy (I haven't seen for ages) about this song and jakes playing. Woke up, looked at my phone notifications and my previous comment had a like on it. 😂 🤔
Underrated Along with Leatherwolf,Fates Warning and Sabatage.

These guys had great chemistry
I freaking loved these guys! Fast times indeed it was.😎
Oh i know this song . Its a poem . In somg form .❤😂🎉
Loved this band 🖤
Saw them on both tours in Chicago. Front row. Nothing else I say could make them any better.
Sad that Ray is gone, but his spirit and his voice will live on. Great song, RIP Ray. hope you and Ronnie are singing together in the Heavens above.
Saw Bad lands share the stage with Pantera, by far the best concert of the early 90's.
Best song
Delta should play
The best song Led Zep never wrote...
Love this track......... maverick
I miss the 80s :-(
same here....miss the 80s
+Cool Breeze Lee ......Best decade of Hard Rock music! I miss it too.
This album is beyond amazing.. always will bring me back to a place of happiness!
Good rock band
Graduated from high school in 89 first heard it in Germany in 91
Was stationed in Germany when this album came out, bought it there!
@@obh4197 nice was on Coleman and Sullivan barracks
Such a great album of the time. Funny how fate can ruine everything...
Eric Singer on the 🥁 🔥🔥
Big respect to this band. Closer to grunge and Black Crows than the more popular glam rock at the time.
Closer to grunge? It tastes to 70's hard rock
@@LemmyLawless Grunge tastes like 70's hard rock
@@bobvogjr.3671 wich grunge? Nirvana, AiC? I don't think so. This is the Led Zeppelin's son
@@LemmyLawless was thinking they are closer to Soundgarden than the glam rock I mentioned in the og statement.
Sound garden and Alice In Chains are the only 2 bands in the early 90s that were actually good. Nirvana should’ve never existed
Best song on the album!
One of the best are you taking me ever did was a great band great album
26 thumbs down? You have no comprehension of “Music”... Bye, bye...
And 7 weeks later there's 31 people that have no musical understanding of a great album ... smdh 🙄
Dumbass statement
this bass player is great
Such a great album and also an obvious Led Zeppelin tribute ❤
Unfortunately their record label attempted to bury them shortly after this because of what happened to ray . Very sad . Voodoo highway kicks ass ! Actually like it better than the debut sometimes if you haven’t listened to it check it out I know it’s up on RUclips

Happy Birthday, Jake E. Lee 2/15/17
The ending or outro is amazing🎸🎶🌎🎛️🎤🥁🍁🍂❄️🌁
Let's cry
Jake e lee,, great 🎸 player
I just discovered this band only because their drummer played on the Michael Schenker/Pete Way "The Plot" album, I looked up to see who the drummer was
This song has more of a 70s feel to it vs the spandex and glamor themed metal that was popular in 89
30 years RIP Ray Gillen
GREAT FUCKING BAND
that sitar at the end . .... with the fade .......
Clift fuck yes my friend! Rey! Intro sublime!
One of my first CD'S i both ( after: kill'm all " METALLICA " and Somewhere in time " IRON MAIDEN " 🤘🤘

Holy shit I just discovered this from exploring more jake e lee. This sounds amazing !!
Badlands, Skid Row, Dangerous Toys, Alice in Chains, Pantera late 80s/early 90s legends!
Saw these guys with Tesla back in the day. There was a third band but I don't remember who it was. Great show though!!
