@Alexander Hunt and on the nhs they work strictly along side the NICE guide lines . Private you have a better chance to veer from those guidelines allowing a lesser commercial constraint on your treatment ( unless you provider signs pretty much anything off) Also private will reduce ur lead times, no doubt there. There’s a reason for private healthcare and I can assure you it’s not for a luxury hotel bed, it’s time and time when diagnosing is invaluable. But if indeed the nhs has picked up the point where it serious it will be expedited at which point it doesn’t differ much to private, but getting to that point, the diagnosis stage is the issue.
They don’t know what they are doing basically. They don’t investigate anymore. If your blood test comes clean they brush it off. You need to investigate yourself and then go to the doctor and tell them I want to do this test
In life you truly have to trust your instincts even when you have interaction with trained professionals. That is 100% true that receptionists & doctors are so rude nowadays. I've been with my doctors surgery for 37 years & over the past 3 years they have employed new receptionists & so many people have complained about the distgusting manner which they use to talk to patients. I call the doctors surgery thinking 'am I going to be spoken to like a piece of shit today again' & that shouldn't be on ones mind, when calling for medical advice or assistance but sadly that's the harsh reality of today's society. People nowadays are only in customer service employment for the money & not because they care about the service which they are required to deliver to people. People need to record on their phones & send the evidence to the surgery manager as making verbal complaints nowadays doesn't work because they are all friends in the surgeries so the managers will turn a blind eye or they turn a blind eye because they don't want to be disliked for doing their job!! But recorded evidence doesn't lie & if they refuse to look into one's complaint advise them that you will take it further, as they have a duty of care to each & every patient! Why should people be mistreated because these doctors & receptionists think that they hold the power because individuals need something from them. It's distgusting how the medical system operates! Good luck Demi, hope you recover & never go through cancer again 🙏🏽 x
Shes right the thyroid is so important!! As a medical student, it makes me feel so bad hearing these stories and also having bad experiences myself. Cos I look at how they teach us we should act in different situations and how to communicate with patients well & then I see a random GP being dismissive or rushing. And I know there's reasons why, but sighh. And I feel perhaps maybe with that generation of doctors, they still have that authoritarian doctor-patient relationship where the patient has no say, so they're more inclined to feel that a patient knows less about their body. But I do think it's coming from the fact that a lot of the time people think whatever's going on with them is the worst thing it could possibly be (and that's in part due to the Internet) so doctors end up seeing a lot of people who think the little cough they have is something more serious, when in reality a lot of the time cases are benign and not life-threatening & that might be where the dismissiveness comes from (like the boy who cried wolf). Regardless tho, from what we've been taught, you should always take the patient's ideas, concerns and expectations seriously and actually listen to the patient. For those who've lost hope, it is something that they stress the importance of to future doctors and it is something I believe will get better with our generation of healthcare professionals
I had really bad tonsillitis at the back end of 2018 and to this day I haven't felt the same, always tired, hot sweats every other night, the thing that really affects me the most is when I wake up every morning I get really bad brain fog and that's every morning feeling like crap all the time my sinus is always blocked as well I've been back and forth on the phone to the doctors getting blood tests done a thyroid test was one of them and many other blood tests and they all came back clear, I exercise and eat healthily and sleep! and still feel punch drunk every morning and no lie just came off the phone to the doctors 2 days ago and they prescribed me Fexofenadine "for hayfever" for those who don't know and some chronic nasal spray bare this in mind I was prescribed a different nasal spray 3 months ago.. the first time I phoned my doctor and described to him how I'm feeling his response was you're fine I'll send you a prescription to your local pharmacy going on 3 years now from watching this and reading the comments I'm going to request to see a cancer specialist first thing regardless.
Poor Demi, but she WILL beat this!!! An NHS doctor told me the reason why they don't admit people to get checked sometimes (especially young people) is because it makes them look bad if results come back 'ok'. Also, it costs them so much money to send patients off for scans etc. Go private if you can! Forget that Gucci bag, cancel that second holiday or whatever luxuries you indulge in and go private. Luckily I have private health care through work. The doctor I recently saw basically asked me what I wanted. I had a CT scan the next day, less than 24 hours later for something they didn't even see as urgent. I feel so blessed that i am able to do this as i do have unanswered problems. Go private if you can!
It’s not a rare form of cancer, it’s rare in white women yes, black and Asian women suffer with thyroid cancer a lot, mainly what triggers it off is a poor diet, stress and eating to much dairy.

In regards to the cervical cancer age, it's becoming more common most likely due to the newer attitudes towards sex in regards to how many partners we have, casual relationships etc. The HPV that causes cervical cancer can only be caught by having sex I believe. I guess at one point 25 was an age where most women had probably had sex for the first time. Also apparently the cervix does not completely mature until you are about 25 so you have a higher risk of receiving an abnormal result if you test earlier. The increase could possibly be put down younger people having higher numbers of sexual partners by a certain age than generations before them. Important to note that even as a girl if you only have one sexual partner but you sleep with a guy who has very high numbers, you are probably just as at risk of being exposed to HPV as a girl who has a high number of sexual partners. Not all HPVs cause cancers anyway but just something to be aware of and also not sure if condom use decreases the exposure. In my Borough the age for cervical cancer screening is 21 and has been so for at least 10 years which I think could be due to levels of sexual activity within the borough

I pray for a speedy recovery and they diagnose what's going wrong with your body. You deserve answers!
Hope she’s all good fr so young!❤️😢
I appreciate this interview. Thank you
Defo wasn’t expecting this interview... very random
I really enjoyed this interview. I really hopes Demi has a speedy recovery 🙏🏿
She is honestly the sweetest praying for her 💕
I pray God heals you 🙏 What a beautiful soul!
It’s not a rare form of cancer, it’s rare in white women yes, black and Asian women suffer with thyroid cancer a lot, mainly what triggers it off is a poor diet, stress and eating to much dairy.
And alcohol too
Poor girl. I commend her for being so optimistic and strong wow I hope none of us ever have to experience this
So glad she doesn't have to go theough chemotherapy ♥️♥️ HER AND NAS were my fave couple that series. Shes a cool girl i like her energy. Nice interview and i Wish her a speedy FULL RECOVERY ♥️💯

You should interview lani
Great interview one i didn’t know i needed. Great way to raise awareness
Really enjoyed this. A topic that needs more awareness. Well done Zeze and all the best Demi...remain strong!
Great episode. Nice to see her bubbly and positive attitude dealing with the C word. Go get yourself checked out people, found mind through pestering doctors also. It's the only way via the NHS unfortunately!
Great job, Zeze and Demi! Everyone who can should consider donating to Macmillan cancer charity.
Literally have a lump in the left side of my neck. Nothing is being done so to speak. I've only had blood tests after initial concerns. I'm now on a waiting list to have teeth roots removed as they think this is the problem. I'm not satisfied this is the case. Frustrating.
Keep pushing them if you're not satisfied.
Your health is very important, these doctors are rubbish.
Another great episode🏆 Great guest selection and balance of topics covered🔥🔥🔥
Thank you @zezemills for doing this video and posting up. And thank you demi for actually doing this video. Because there's a lot of people that go thru this. Including me and trying to get the doctor to check and listen to you specially if your young is hard. So thank you because I am really pushing myself inorder to check myself out and not give up. We need to know this information because certain ppl don't know this. Even me I didn't think this was seriously but it actually is.
Demi is an absolutely lovely girl, I truly wish you all the best and I know you’ll recover from this and heal perfectly. May God bless you and heal you in Jesus name Amen 🙏🏾
She’s such a lovely girl !

An amazing interview 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️
Jeez i always thought Cervical cancer was just a regular cancer, didn’t know women get it from sex
Demi just seems so nice
Awee bless her. Please everyone be more persistent.
