How much insect life did you find in the compost? You want to see loads of worms working through it all. Try making a wormery and then add them to the compost and also get more veg waste in there and brown material to balance it all off as a lot of what you've got looks like leaf matter.
I did see a few worms but not the numbers I was expecting. But this compost method is aerobic…. Are there still supposed to be a lot of worms in an aerobic system? With my previous composting experience I’ve had loads of worms but the compost is very wet (anaerobic?). When I built these compost piles I did put a lot of fresh grass cuttings in but it does look a bit heavy on the leaf now? I’ll try adding more veg waste next time and a wormery sounds like a good idea. 👍🏻

I would mix in your chicken muck cow pats and straw. Think you can buy red worms from a fishing shop put them in too
👍🏻
to ad heat in compost pit/nitrogen just piss in it. Urine is a great noirogen fertiliser, add in wood ashes and you're laughing
I’ve been saving my wood ash and wounding where’s best to use it. 👍🏻
pissing in the compost pile also acts as a fox deterrent
Makes sense. 👍🏻
