@@janath9118 Hi Janath. Ah Yes! ALL excellent groups, The Shadows at one time were my favourite instrumental band until The Tornados released Telstar and I was hooked, I must say I was only 10 year's old at the time but my love of instrumental's has not changed. My wife and I are ardent You Tube watcher's and have often see the group's that you have mentioned. Both The Shadows and The Ventures have covered Telstar and very fine versions they are too, but you simply cannot match The Tornados version, this is primarily down to the genius of Joe Meek, who composed Telstar and recorded it with them. My kindest Regards. Ronny B.
@@ronnybarsley9064 Hello, Ronny, i like to thank you for replying me in details even after one year of your message posting here! Yes, I had also heard Telstar by The Tornados back in my younger days, and it is very good. I agree that their version of this track was better than of The Shadows and The Ventures. I noted that you are 10 years when Telstar came and that both you and your wife are ardent youtube watchers who often watch the bands I mentioned. I liked their bright, tingling electric guitar music more than other instrumental bands. Telstar also had that feeling but not all of their other tracks. Specially I liked Tornados other track Chattanooga Choo Choo which was similarly bright and fast. Though electric guitar was not highlighted, I liked much Tornados' 2 other tracks- Alan's Tune and Costa Monger. I think you have also heard them. I have a double CD album of The Tornados including these tracks. Although the Shadows and the Ventures cannot match Tornados' version of telstar, both these bands had a large number of beautiful and some fast tracks which became very popular the world over during 60's, 70's and even in 80's. I just like to write you here that I have not heard much about The Spotnicks earlier. I am searching about them in youtube and then I noticed your comment. The difference is the Shadows, The Ventures and even the Jumping Jewels were the only bands in the world who excelled in leading electric guitar sounds. All other instrumental bands were not electric guitar led bands, they were leading in all types of other instruments also, meaning they were full orchestral bands. Maybe there were exceptions, but all other bands like the Tornados, Spotnicks, the Champs, Atlantic, Frantics etc. were full orchestral like that. I don't mean that they were bad, i also like them, but they were all different in music from those 3 bands. I consider the Shadows and the Ventures as the best guitar instrumental bands in the world! I think you know about other then famous full orchestral instrumental bands like - Roberto Delgado, Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass, Bill Black's Combo etc. I remember you wrote me that your love of instrumentals has not changed until now. I also like to tell you that I too am an instrumental music lover since my younger days. Happy listening to you! Best regards. Janath.
