- Here is a live performance of Richard Marx at Daytona Beach in 1988 for MTV's Spring Break.
Setlist:
Band Intro 00:00
Have Mercy 02:35
Don't Mean Nothin 10:30
Stay With Me (Faces cover) 19:45
I'm not sure if there was anything before this because this is where the recording started. It doesn't look like they're too worked up so I'm gonna guess not.
Honestly, I didn't know much about Richard Marx when I found this clip, but apparently he was a pretty big deal. His first album went 3x platinum and he's wrote songs for *NSYNC and married Daisy Fuentes. Anyway, this performance is pretty rockin'. They somehow managed to stretch three songs out to over 20 minutes. Lots of good footage of white people dancin' too.
Oh, and for the record the ads on this video aren't my fault. The copyright holder is makin' money off it, not me.
Keep an eye out for more uploads from the MTV Spring Break 88 recap!
All captures done by me from tapes I own. I do not however claim any ownership of anything in the clips contained. Please feel free to use them for whatever you want, but please give credit:)

I was at this concert! I still love his music as much as I did back then. So much fun seeing my best friends up front and center enjoying the show so many years later

Dave Koz was a rock saxophonist in Marx band .. his earliest saxophone solo before he moved to Smooth jazz

Maravilhoso és uma raridade Richard Marx Y LOVE YOU 💎❤
RM certainly was a big deal in the late 80s and early 90s. He decided to stop touring much in the 90s and focus on writing more for other singers. He's still going strong today. Paul Warren, the main lead guitarist here (with the dark mullet) has been with Rod Stewarts band in recent years. John Walmsley, the other guitarist played a main character in the tv show the Waltons.
Jim Cliff the bassist is now kicking ass in a band called DoctorfunK, based in Seattle. They have some vids up on RUclips. He doesn't have the mullet anymore lol.
Thanks for the info! I actually had a hard time trying to figure out who the artist was because the very beginning was cut. Only the band members names were said and I couldn't really find any info about them playing with Richard, had to Google some lyrics to figure it out😂. I've been listening to some of his stuff since and have really enjoyed it!

I remember this I was there
Holy @! Jason Walton (Jon Walmsley) played the RM. I had no idea he was a legit musician. Moreover, he's damn good. Very impressed.
I never watch this concert with him in the 80s and I think he is very handsome and hottest singer and songwriter in the 80s
