Massive CRASH during Polish Indoor Karting Championship!

- My worst crash ever!
During the last lap of my 3rd race I had a big crash, which sent my kart flying in the air and flipping it upside down.
I managed to crawl from under the kart and throw myself to safety over the barriers.
And from what I've heard, it didn't look good from a spectators point of view. But I came out with loads of bruises on my left arm and helmet,and some smaller ones on the left side of my body.
I don't think I could do anything because half a second before impact I was squished between 2-3 drivers, and at impact there were drivers to the left and behind me.
Anyway, I'm not here to point fingers and blame anyone, I'm very grateful that I came out of this crash with only these bruises...

This is not racing. This is idiotism...
when all of those kart came I was like oh no this will end up in drama

I love how 17 pushes you out of the way and races hard but as soon as someone else does it the hand goes up to complain XD

I like that he was pushing everyone and now when somebody pushed him it is others fault
judging by how little room you were accommodated in the opening corners it was brave to keep it lit round the outside.
Never thought it would end this way though. Been racing there for years

I actually do like the championship, in like 6-7 times competing this was the first big incident i've had/seen.

There should be a bar in the opening of the gate, so the flexi track can not go outside like it did now.

seems like a barrier issue. the track is at fault! super dangerous. glad (it seems) like you're okay.
Yeah, if the track was straight, there wouldn't of been an issue.

I feel like the track itself just needs less turns. It almost seems like they’re putting a turn at the end of each wall. Why not make it more like a circle not a zigzag
This whole scenario was destined to end poorly for someone, and you just happened to be that unfortunate soul. Great footage though!

as someone who runs an indoor track myself, this comes down to poor track design
There should of been a steel frame where the gate is open, so the flexi track cat move out wards like it did now
Was vorig jaar in Polen, langs Silver karting geweest, was een Poolse kampioenschaps karter les aan het geven..
Toen ik na 7-8 rondjes de baan door had en hun kon bijhouden begon hij mij ook te beuken.. (besef dit was gewoon in een publiekelijke heat :D)
Ja gewone heats rij ik niet echt meer, daar rijden veel te veel mensen die geen zin hebben om voorbij gestoken te worden :p
@@bjornvermeulen Meeste kartbanen hebben uurtjes waar alleen club rijders of kampioenschap rijders mogen rijden.. wellicht is dat aan te raden voor jou
@@DylanvdBerg bedankt maar ik rij enkel kampioenschappen of races. Of kleine races om voor te bereiden op een 24u :p

@@DylanvdBerg meestal niet, behalve voor bijvoorbeeld nationale kampioenschappen waar ik wil presteren.

I do like the barrier, but not at that moment in life 🤣
The barrier design is awful, I can only imagine this isn't the first time. The curved shape lifts the side of the kart. Secondly, the metal kart bumpers seem stiff and don't allow any give.
I like the barriers and karts, just a bit unlucky that day 😅

What is going on with that barrier? looks dangerous to me.
There should of been a steel barrier where the open door is to keep the racing barrier straight.
That's why it's disformed next to the end of the door.

Is een beetje moeilijk, want voor impact waren er 2 links van mij en in totaal nog 4 achter mij.
Dus om te pin pointen wie de 'dader' is, is moeilijk!

There's a difference between pushing wide when passing a'd letting the other guy live.
And pushing wide to push them in the wall :)

I see a big gap though. He was way on the outside knowing I was right behind him, and I would go for that gap.
When we contacted each other I was more than halfway his kart.

If only the guy I passed, would have followed me after turn 1 instead of doing what he did at t2 t3 and t4 there wouldn't of been an accident

Awful track design.
Especially to have mini ramps going up that wall, and to then also make a little dip in a wall exiting a corner which will have people naturally drift out into.SMH
That's probably not their first flip and definitely won't be their last.

They were shocked to see a kart flip, so I don't think there are many accidents like this.

A combination of flesh and in my opinion an unsafe track design. That barrier isnt very safe, doesnt follow the standards you'd have to follow in more regulatory countries like the UK
crazy how you can just ride with a short sleeved shirt.
We see this kind of barrier around europe, during the kart world championship in Denmark we had a big crash and one guy ended up on top of the barriers with his kart 😅
@@bjornvermeulen Haha. I'm gonna be headed for the netherlands next year and will be planning on visiting a few tracks. Its crazy how little protection you need in some places. In the Us, from what I've seen, a lot of places let you ride in shorts without even gloves. I assume the karts go slower however.
Damn, I hope he ain`t got any serirous injures. That`s the reason why I like outdoor tracks more

I mean you had chance after chance to prevent this from happening. Go karting isn’t who is in first place. It’s whose lap is the fastest. Lose a lap, get a clear track ahead and go for it. Stop competing for ‘who’s infront’ on the track.
It's a championship, racing, not time attack :)

slow crash haha, that happened to me but at 70 mph, crashed with a dirt wall and finished upside down

only diffrence is, you had a race suit on and he didnt, makes a masive diffrence

no seatbelts or chest straps? You really had a race with nothing on? Don't really care that you got run off the track in go karts on a small indoor circuit, you didn't put your safety first, and that alone should ban you from this sport. You're lucky these karts have bumpers, karts that don't go as fast, and its not outdoors. Also, whoever was supposed to maintain the track you could have had a very good lawsuit but too bad you didn't protect yourself.
karts arent supposed to have seatbelts or otherwise he would've been stuck under the kart. there was nothing more he could do, he was not given any room and the track was deformed in a dangerous place, get over it.
Regulations state you only need a helmet. Seatbelts are a deathtrap in this situation!
And why woule I need to be banned from the sport. Surely you don't drive competitive karting.
I've driven all around europe, and I've seen worse accidents :)
