They are reprints they are great. I am planning on doing a quilt with the civil War fabric that is reprints but is looks like an antique quilt they’re beautiful.😊

Loved your hint about using the Add-A-Seam ruler to “press” the fold. Rubbing on the paper side, especially, protects the fabric from stretching. I take the extra step of using an improvised light box and lightly marking the sewing lines on the blank side using a pencil. That way when I fold the fabric over to test spacing, I can make sure I have enough coverage.
Thats such a great tip with the pencil. It can be frustrating if you go too fast and didnt make sure your fabric completely covers the area after sewing.
Love the fabric and I agree black is fun and brings out the colors and florals of the other material. I am just finishing a quilt that has black with aloha print for my oldest daughter. It is so beautiful and not overwhelming at all. It was her idea to go black as opposed to white and it really just made the quilt. I found that black is popular right now as opposed to white. It does give it a completely different look.

I have not tried the Open Gate Quilts Subscription Box. Think my favorite box is the Sew Sampler from Fat Quarter Shop, I am satisfied most of the time.
If you are looking for a subscription box with projects then I would suggest Open Gate Quilts. If you are looking for a subscription box with just fabric then Cotton Cuts if a great option. If you want a variety, notions, fabric and patterns then the Sew Sampler box from fat quarter shop is a great price for what you get each month.

How did you know what size to cut the pieces for the paper piecing?
The pattern provided in the subscription box provided all cutting instructions.
