- "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1968 double album The Beatles (also known as "the White Album"). It was written by George Harrison, the band's lead guitarist. The song serves as a comment on the disharmony within the Beatles following their return from studying Transcendental Meditation in India in early 1968. This lack of camaraderie was reflected in the band's initial apathy towards the composition, which Harrison countered by inviting his friend and occasional collaborator, Eric Clapton, to contribute to the recording. Clapton overdubbed a lead guitar part, although he was not formally credited for his contribution.

I have played and sung this song probably a thousand times. But I’ve never captured the true feel of it like this lead player did. And the people who give this a thumbs down are just lonely, miserable people who can’t even tune a low E string. Sad.
Appreciate your honesty and giving credit to the lead player as I know for a fact that thumbs down are usually from envious musicians who think they could do better.

As a college educated musician of about 30 years of playing...I gotta say..these guys are really impressive.. difficult songs and these guys nail them...you'd be hard pressed to distinguish the original from the cover... extremely impressive guys.

I have a pretty good ear. Immediately recognize if a version of a song isn't the original. Might take a while with these guys, they're excellent.

I'm blown away at the talent of these guys, particularly the guy singing and playing the lead. How he was able to simultaneously play and sing those parts so perfectly is insane. And oh yeah he's usually on keyboard, check out the incredible job he does on A Day In The Life, and Strawberry Fields. So incredible.
He's very talented person and all of them too...Im proud to be a Filipino everytime they Performed.. 😊

I’m sure many of you know this, but for those that don’t, these guys have a remarkable ability to record live. This would’ve had to’ve been done in several takes in a studio in order to sound this polished. In addition to their raw musical talent, they’re spectacular studio musicians.

A Filipino who grew up with the Beatles' songs from the 60s-70s. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is definitely one of my favorites.
I asked my grandson to load one version of the song without telling me whose, then listened to it with eyes closed. Did the same with the other one. Must admit my hearing is not as sharp as way back then, but felt confident it's good enough to tell the copy from the real McCoy. I was wrong by a mile! "Pretty close" was the best I could come up. Whichever the REO (cover) version is, the instrumental rendition especially the lead guitar and the vocals are quite impressive. Couldn't even detect a slight accent of Taglish. Great job, boys! Reno is doing a very difficult job by playing Ringos parts and playing them to perfection … as a drummer I should know! .. the four of them are perfect as a unit … I think it's their youngest brother who joins them now and then for extra keyboard work … he doesn't seem to join them live though … not sure of his name or age but he's also a talented young guy x

These guys are caught in their own separate World whilst they are singing and nailing it but they somehow seem to be connecting with each other to perform brilliantly and so effortlessly.And than they snap out of it when they their performance end.It seems like they are been transported to another world when they are singing, oblivious to everything and each other.Me thinks they are aliens moving in and out of this World.

An absolute gem. The rhythm and tone were pure Beatles. Many covers miss the mark. This song has special a meaning if you can feel the words.

I grew up in Hawaii and a 3rd generation Filipino who does not speak Tagalog, Ilocano or Visayan and I hardly can speak english!! lol But I am a proud Hawaiian Filipino!!! The REO BROTHERS are doing their homework- their cover of the songs they are performing are damn near dead on of the ORIGINAL artist. This is only the second RUclips video performance I have watched of the REO BROTHERS so I do not know their names. I can say that the brother/ vocalist up front playing lead guitar on his Gibson is nailing the lead - seems- NOTE for NOTE. They are ALL very good and have whatever they are performing - LOCKED DOWN. manny correa no harrison could, but he couldnt play it down to perfection like clapton did. and the same applies for the same video here, he did a good job but not a great “perfect” job.

Best cover of this song I've ever heard. Having worked for WEA (Warner-Elektra-Atlantic) a part of WMG for quite a few years, I've heard a lot of covers being submitted and this is without a doubt in my mind, one of the best. I hope these guys have a good manager that will really push and promote them.
These fellows are indeed very talented & sound great but come on, one of the best? I'm not beating these guys up. They cover a wide range of music genres & always pull it off. It's just that in the larger scheme of things where reality exists, the Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff lynne ensemble performed the end-all-be-all version of this song. Especially Prince's mind numbing solo for the ages. It was almost a spiritual experience. Thumbs up for this video & your comment though.

I was a kid of 15 when the Beatles' 'White Album' came out. I played it over and over again for a week! But it never brought me to tears of joy like you REO brothers' performance of this song (as REO brothers' performances so often do). YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!
P J I was almost 7 yrs old when it was released in November 1968. Heard it for the first time in 1977 when I was 15 - a Junior in High School. Like you, there was no emotional connection. Fast forward 50 years later, hearing it again brought back 50 years worth of memories - literally the life we had lived. This cover (like many of their songs) is so close to the original that it felt like the Beatles has reunited which is no longer possible. It was a desire that was suppressed and locked away. Because there is nothing that can be done about it. Over the years, many - some famous artists - has covered this song. But, none has captured the Beatles spirit as well as these lads. There is really something special about these brothers. And they are probably not even aware of it. I pray that they remain close, and not let fame and fortune destroy their relationship.
