Wow, I never knew until today that New Zealand had Bristol VRs. It looks so pristine and well presented, and glad to see it has it's original engine and gearbox. Thank you for this video. That bus has better seats than any UK VR I've seen, though I've not seen many, when they were in use they weren't in my area (I was a kid so didn't travel too far with my mum).
I'm in the UK mate and this brings back memory's! I used to drive for Red bus in North Devon, We had VR's and Leyland Nationals! I love the VR, It's a proper decker and you can hustle it along, The gearbox sings! 👌
Hi Scotty, thanks mate for watching, ya 😆 you can definitely get the old girls humming along quite nicely. Nice to hear from a fellow driver . Are you still driving buses ?
I'm glad you managed to eliminate the squeaking noise - i could barely hear the Gardner/ transmission music. Much better on the return journey. I'm glad as well, that although the front has been altered, that it still has round headlights. Although Leyland Nationals are my favourite sort of bus, and VRs second, Gardners are my favourite sort of bus engine.
Nice video again, Nick. Always gives me a good feeling to see those old British buses still driving around at the southern hemisphere.....kind regards from Belgium, Harald
Hi Harald , alway great to read your comments, and thanks for your ongoing support of my channel. Yes there is not many of them over here, so a point of difference for sure. Fun to drive too .🚌
Hi Mr Wheelie , thanks for watching, yip your right not factory grill or lights , it’s a Volvo grill I think. Was refurbished a little bit retro , but over all it’s a nice looking bus I think .

Looks nice sir! Almost a "what if the VRT had been Modernised"

12:43 A right-hand drive MAN SL202? Something else I didn't know existed.
Yes, drove these every day in service UK.. 😮😮😮
Thanks for watching Tim , they are a lovely machine , Merry Christmas 🎄
Excellent video, Nick. Well done.
Cheers Nick nice bus 👍
Lovely bus nick
Great looking bus Nick 😆 the seat 🤣
Yes was driving me mad !! Tanks mate 👍🏻🙂
Can't beat the Bristol/Gardner/ECW combo!
Horrible things, the AN68 Atlantean was much better but the NBC kept buying VRs
Nice bus but whys there a Volvo style turbo 6 grille on front when it’s not a turbo?
Hi Paul, was refurbished by a previous owner , not sure if the reason . The whole bus is a little bit retro , but it is tidy and drives very well.
It's ugly and makes no sense making it look like it's a Volvo when it's not.
Was that a Designline you were following at the end?
Never seen a Bristol vr with those light lenses or grill looks different to what I'm use to seeing on a vr but interesting

Such a shame you did the music speed through, love that engine sound of yesterday.
There’s plenty off videos in my collection including more of this bus with plenty of engine noise . Take a look .
can't deal with that squeak.
Tell me about it 😬
You are same looking like David Headley....the main culprit of 26/11 attack in Mumbai in INDIA
😂 I’m definitely not related
even down down under, bloody cyclists are holding up the mighty VR's
