Something in my eye while listening to this, excuse me for a second... So wonderfully arranged, voices blended perfectly. I hope our Scotch and Irish culture, people and way of life don't end at the hands of the social engineers that want everyone to look, act and think the same way. We've contributed greatly to mankind and the arts, a contribution that is unique with the stamp of who we are.
Rarely does a combination of talent and natural ability at such a high level come along. Only the skilled and experienced can capture its essence and shape it to something of a level to showcase and preserve for time. This Choir is by far a cut above.
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow Bless you with love for the road that you go May you sail fair to the far fields of fortune With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet And may you need never to banish misfortune May you find kindness in all that you meet May there always be angels to watch over you To guide you each step of the way To guard you and keep you safe from all harm Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay May you bring love and may you bring happiness Be loved in return to the end of your days Now fall off to sleep, I'm not meaning to keep you I'll just sit for a while and sing loo-li, lai-lay May there always be angels to watch over you To guide you each step of the way To guard you and keep you safe from all harm Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay Loo-li, lai-lay Read more: Secret Garden - Sleepsong Lyrics | MetroLyrics
Emily has done some great work while with this group. I hope now that she has graduated that she will continue to pursue music. Wonderful work by her and the whole group.
This is a stunning rendition of a beautiful song-it moves me every time I listen to it. I first came across this song while listening to Secret Garden but I prefer this version because her voice is so beautiful. I could listen to this forever.
Couldn't agree more. Secret Garden's version is lovely but to me this is the best I've heard from all recorded versions. I hope Emily isn't finished as a recording artist. Thanks for the comment, glad the track connected with you.
If angels sing like Emily I must do all my best and everything to get to heaven, and I am buying the CD now though it costs so much but it is worth all the money. Greetings from Poland! All the best wishes to you Emily and the choir.
Thanks CJ! This is my favourite version of this song and love that it's a local Irish choir - the soloist Emily's voice works perfectly for the material.

This is just so wonderfully wonderful. When the chorus comes in (twice,) I just shiver with the beauty of that sound.

Nothing can match this for its lyrical and harmonic beauty. Nothing else but this....
torn between wanting to share this song with others because its so underrated and wanting to keep it to myself because it feels so personal
Emily Doyle. What more needs to be said. A truly beautiful voice.
Marvelous!
This song took me to a place I have never been but so long to go. It nearly brought me to tears. What a voice Emily Doyle has!

Simply ecstasy. As if from a dream...
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Lay down your head and I'll sing you a lullaby
Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay
And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow
Bless you with love for the road that you go
May you sail fair to the far fields of fortune
With diamonds and pearls at your head and your feet
And may you need never to banish misfortune
May you find kindness in all that you meet
May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
May you bring love and may you bring happiness
Be loved in return to the end of your days
Now fall off to sleep, I'm not meaning to keep you
I'll just sit for a while and sing loo-li, lai-lay
May there always be angels to watch over you
To guide you each step of the way
To guard you and keep you safe from all harm
Loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li, lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Loo-li, loo-li, loo-li lai-lay
Loo-li, lai-lay

At some point I'm going to succumb to buying the CD - it's such a wonderful collection of voices and arrangement mastery.
That didn't last long - its coming next week.
The World is beautiful when people create the beauty.
