    I do apologize for the wind noise during the driving segment. The window sticker was essentially covering up the whole passenger window so it made it difficult to see when I was inside the city. But I appreciate you watching, check out Capital Mazda in Cary I will leave their info in the description box. If you would like to see what cars I will be working on next, consider following me on Instagram @exhaustsports. Thank you.

    It looks like a mini-Corvette. The low power keeps the insurance costs lower, even if you add aftermarket extra power. It is the most-raced car worldwide, with huge aftermarket parts availability.

    • @MeynMotorGroup

      Absolutely! It’s a very impressive little car. Funny think is, I’m going to be doing a second review on it haha

    Good point about how it is the kind of sports car that can be a lot of fun in real world driving within the speed limit, not like the supercars going 200 mph which would not be realistic.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  5 лет назад +2

      Hey thanks again for stopping by! Yea that’s the reality of “supercars” they’re fantastic, capable, and glamorous however, very much useless lol. I would like to know what it’s like to own one however, I know it will be tedious and honestly I would probably sell it for something like this, no joke. Currently working on the 2019 Mustang GT PP2 review

    It's strange to me that people look at a Miata and say "oh it's weak. I'd rather get a Camaro/Mustang/Challenger because it's faster" and disregard its other characteristics. It's even weirder that these same people look at electric cars and say "oh speed and acceleration isn't everything. I need the FEELING." Yeah? Really? So you didn't care about the feeling and driving dynamics with the Miata, but now that a $60k EV can can get 100mph before you can even hit 60mph, this is your argument? Lol

    Boot/trunk space is the same between the ST/RF. Also, I laugh each time you mention how expensive this car is. This car costs $36,000 in the US, now of I want to buy it here in Puerto Rico I need to spend $53,000... It really suck to live in a territory and the sad thing is that I may end up buying this car anyways.

    I totally concur. I've mentioned this to others before that the MX5 is like an affordable 911 for the masses. If you don't believe that then maybe everyone should experience a British winter with a MX5 boot filled with sand bags to give grip and that 'mental' 911 rear end mass when it lets go.

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  5 лет назад +1

      Hey Wayne thanks for stopping by. Yea I love how the MX-5 has been perfected over the years, and yes the 911s rear engine design will take some getting used to for most

  • @Saboda53
    @Saboda53 8 месяцев назад

    I have a ‘19 RF myself and really love it. You’re right, sitting behind the wheel, there’s just something about the MX-5 - it feels really special. Greater than the sum of its parts. If I sell mine someday and people ask “why’d you sell it?” I’ll just have to say “that’s easy, I was stupid.” 😉

    I've got mine 4 days ago.. I curious how it drives on rainy days

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  5 лет назад +1

      I have not driven it in the rain but at high speeds it’s pretty stable over 60 mph but I don’t think there would be any issues

    • @deepblueskyK
      @deepblueskyK 3 года назад

      I can only talk about my experience with an MX5 RF here in central Europe. Bridgestone's OEM tires (S001) really don't work so well with the Miata in cold AND rainy weather. Many Miata owners over here demand an immediate tire change as soon as their new car is delivered to the local car dealer. E.g.: GY Eagle F1 AS5, MPS4 or Conti PC6 are great options.

    Great review Kevin. There was a friend of mine who was in an accident few years ago while driving a Miata and she was able to walk away from the accident despite the car being totaled. Mazda has the ability to make very stand out sport cars....i.e. see RX7/RX8, Mazda Speed 3, Miata, etc.

    I'm 6'4 and tried to get into one of those a couple of years ago and gave it up as a lost cause LOL, but where that car would really shine is on tight, twisty mountain roads, you'd have a smile a mile wide afterwards!

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  5 лет назад

      Haha thanks so much for watching sir and oh man I’m glad you told me. I guess that’s the biggest disadvantage of this car, not everyone can enjoy it which is a shame. I too have a friend about that size who can’t sit in it even with the seats all the way back. But oh well, there are other cars, I’m currently working on the 2019 Mustang GT PP2 version I’m sure taller folks can fit in that haha. Thank you again for your support!

      @@MeynMotorGroup Whilst the Mustang looks great, I'd never tell anyone to buy one as they are a two star crash rated shitbox Ford really screwed the pooch with them and if you think that's bad the new Wrangler just scored a massive one star, man the states really need to pull their fingers out of their arse with regards to safety of their cars, or no one's going to buy them unless they're stupid or have a death wish!

    I have yet to drive a current gen Miata, but previous gen models have been the most fun cars that I have ever driven. Oh yeah, So, Cruise or Bieber in the Octagon? My money on Cruise, despite the fact he is 56 years old.

      Definitely not boring man. I live vicariously through you when it comes to driving new or interesting cars. Did you happen to see the video of the guy who was making a top end video of his Lexus LS 460. He lost control, over corrected, and ultimately rolled his car at 161mph. It was on car scoops today, but probably can find on you tube also.

      Lololol yea many would consider it a sin haha I personally wouldn't have this car any other way but a manual but I def hear you they make an auto for a reason and if you want it get it my friend. I will say tho this manual is really easy and non fatiguing but idk I've never been in like LA traffic before. But if you want an auto get it as long as you're happy the excellent driving dynamics will all still be there

      Azim K don’t worry about getting the automatic, you’re still getting all the other stuff that makes this car great! I’m not a young guy , I stated driving in MGs in the 70s . They required heel and toe and double declutch in some gears, great fun but the cities are so congested now. Although I believe the manual is a great box on this car you still have the paddles on the auto.
      Honestly, if you can put up with the odd purist rolling their eyes ( I certainly could) then get the automatic and enjoy!

    Excellent review 👏👏👏 I love this car! I have a 2020 SS 1LE also which I love. I want to add this one next to my SS 1LE and combined I will own the PERFECT combination of most “affordable” 2 BEST sports cars in the world why? They are both champions in their own category:
    Camaro SS 1LE is the Benchmark for lowest priced fastest car. Meaning there is no other car cheaper than ss 1le that beat SS 1LE.
    Mazda mx-5 ND2 is the lightest and fastest to 0-60...Correct me if I’m wrong but I am not aware of any other car lighter and faster in straight line then ND2

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 года назад

      You are 1000% correct my friend you own the 2 sports cars that are my personal top picks for obtainable great driving sports cars I preach to my subscribers all the time. The Camaro 1SS V8 with NPP exhaust is def the best affordable V8 car for normal humans, far superior to the Mustang stock, problem with Mustang is it needs lots of upgrades to make it good like suspension, bushings, etc.
      If you can't fit in a Camaro or don't want to spend money modding a Mustang to make it truly good, Get a Challenger at that point but Camaro is the true drivers car.
      Miata is the other choice I love for pragmatic street fun such a great car and the 4 cylinder sounds great and you can utilize 100% of thr miatas speed and agility on the road which makes it great. Both camaro and miata have the best manuals too.
      I'm so glad you own and take advantage of these incredible vehicles.

      @@MeynMotorGroup Thank you. We are very much alike and that goes for most car guys and enthusiasts will be on the same page with you and I.
      I only own ss 1le so far, but planning to buy MX5 ND2 by next year. I am soooo impressed with it I test drove it multiple times...This is why I watched your review and found it very informative and spot on👌
      Like you said going 40 miles feels like 80 just so much fun!!! SS 1le is to stay competitive at track days without doing any mods i can keep up with the Porsche GT4s. And MX-5 is more to have maximum fun in the streets (without going jail) and weekend joy car & autocrossing.
