    I purchased one of your brushes Steve and it works very well! I love the results I get out of it and it's much better than the old Mach brushes I've been using for the past 30 years. Your brush has made me a better striper and my work now looks similar to yours. Thanks!!

    Steve, you ol' hip/biker/Artist! Pinstriping is definitely an Art in its own right! Been a signman 'bout as long, (45yrs), never got into that much striping per se - hand carving n gilding a lot, airbrush & wall/bike/truck murals, and, ya: MILLIONS of letters - by hand, of course...! (you must be a Letterhead, no?)👍 Beautiful work, man. Boogie on!!🌈

    I use the grid so that I know my work is as close to symmetrical as possible. Practice with the grid is great to promote balance and get the artist on track. The pencil marks are Staedtler Omnichrome will not melt, and can be easily removed after the paint is dry(2-3 hrs.) with Windex and a micro-fiber cloth without harming the work. If you have not tried this , your missing a great experiance,If I can help,just ask.
    Steve

  • @kafkapinstriping
    @kafkapinstriping  13 лет назад +1

    @cbill3259 Well,if your using an omnichrome pencil you wait until all the paint is dry and you spray Windex on a micro fiber cloth and wipe it off, on most surfaces.

  • @kafkapinstriping

    @thesoria1 The only liquids I use are mineral spirits for thinning the paint and lacquer thinner to wash out the brush between colors

  • @kafkapinstriping
    @kafkapinstriping  12 лет назад

    The pencil that I recommend is the Staedtler omnishrome, it does not melt and is removed by spraying glass cleaner on a micro fiber cloth and wiping gently when the work has dried. We can send all or most of my products anywhere, you may start something new in your country,if I can help , just ask. Have fun and good luck.

    @Sarskianna Lacquer is very rarely used in modern times, it's actually illegal in quite a few states. I'm using an oil-based sign painters enamel called One Shot . The drying times are relatively short depending on things like humidity , temperature &, air movement . Ideally it will dry to the touch in 3-4 hours. Lacquer will of course dry sometimes in minutes.. Hope this helps.
    Steve

  • @kafkapinstriping
    @kafkapinstriping  12 лет назад +1

    @greaserleo I use and recommend Staedtler omni chrome pencils ,they don't melt, easy clean up, no ghosts, same price as a Stabilo. Me and most of my friends use them,and love them.
    Steve

  • @kafkapinstriping
    @kafkapinstriping  12 лет назад +1

    The brush that I use is actually a brush of my original design and manufacture. It has the capabilities to do both traditional and the Kafka style, with greater ease.

  • @kafkapinstriping
    @kafkapinstriping  14 лет назад +1

    @Mrmanuel2602 The reducer is paint thinner ,or mineral spirits I'm, glad you enjoy my designs.
    Steve

  • @kafkapinstriping
    @kafkapinstriping  12 лет назад

    When the project is fairly dry , spray a micro-fiber cloth with windex and gently wipe any grid lines off. This will work with omni-chrome pencils from Steadtler. Clearcoat is not required ,the paint is a leaded /oil-based sign enamel and will hold up well with normal waxing. It can be clear coated if necessary with special preparation.

      Sadly, no. I got a mack brush to practice with and pinstriped my mailbox, but mack brushes definitely have their limits. I did sparrows and banners on the side using a standard liner brush but they cant hold enough paint to do those beautiful swirls and flourishes.

    @texicane1 My System is designed to give the user the basics ,and then to expand on their own .People are usually inspired by others work ,and encouraged to develop design on their own,as in any art form their are basic design elements such as balance , and eye appeal , not to mention use of color and the effect they have on one another on the substrate once the basics are yours the sky is the limit!.Hope this helps,

    Depending on the number of colors ,size of the piece, intricacy of design, it could run from 150 and up. Your expenses are more on the road, but the increased number of clients available to the artist at a show warrants keeping prices the same, I ask the client what he /she can afford to put into the project,and they usually give prices higher than I would normally charge. Don't forget all of the expenses incurred on the road too!
