I feel like I can get the same effect by getting a made to move barbie and go on Etsy for clothes and accessories. I guess at the end end of they day to achieve the similar look it would end up being $80- $100.
My local discount store has doll with the same face mould, so honestly I'm not seeing anything "special" considering the jacket and bag's fake leather is gonna peel off anyway 😐
As I do appreciate her upgrade of the quality of mattel actually listening to us on the clothing , I do believe they spent more on the packaging and not enough on the fabrics, layering details and enough attention to detail based solely on the 100 bucks price tag ! Compared to Mga already giving this to us for a Meir 25-35 bucks ! And this is Mattel! Which is already a multimillion dollar company that has been around for 60 years ! Growing up in the 80s, Barbie's clothes were made of better material for the most part. They need to go back to that. This doll just makes me think of my Jean Loving Barbie with her pink fuzzy sweater and denim jeans.
even me growing up in the 2000s had better materials. I remember my barbie actually having eyelashes, a skirt and top made of two different fabrics (and the denim skirts were not just printed on tacky fabric), multiple shoes that were different styles. I don't understand how the quality has dropped so much. I haven't bought a playline barbie in YEARS because they all suck.

The jacket isn't even fitted well. It's such a shame that 20 years ago when I was playing with barbie the same quality doll (minus the extra joints) would be playline. I hate saying that "it was better back then" but I mattel has really dropped the ball. I feel like I'm the only Barbie collector who isn't excited about this doll. She seems fine but kind of plain and overpriced. A MTM doll is only $15-16, so that's like $85 for 2 fashions, and I only like the blue outfit. I can't justify the purchase.

Her face is childlike and boring, she's also cross-eyed, her body, her outfits, the leather jacket with chiffon dress looks odd, leather jacket zip is as big as her head, suit trousers swing around her ankles, her hair has a plasticy shine to it like a fancy-dress wig and is a mess and doesn't even move.... nothing good about this doll whatsoever.

I think £70-80 is the highest this should be tbh. I mean made to move bodies are £16, the face mould is closed and the rest of the budget is essentially going into clothing & the box which while good quality, is pushing it. You shouldn't have to pay the astronomical price here for quality that was available in playline dolls a few years ago.

I have been working with a group of guys who nicknamed me Barbie and have just bought me one of these as a "goodbye and good luck" gift. Honestly, I thought she was a lot of fun and I will be displaying her on my dressing table!

I've seen several commenters say that they successfully pulled the hands out by dipping in hot boiling water and pulling the entire peg and hand out, but do you want to try? The 'Toy Chat' channel was where I saw the broken hand!
if you know the barbie style instagram page, you'd know that the accessories are all custom made/handmade exclusively only for aesthetic barbie "influencer" photo shoots and this doll was made so fans can experience those dolls since people were demanding to sell some of them. i'm guessing all the stuff she comes with is also handmade which is why she's expensive.
Here in the states that's $175. For one barbie doll and some outfits. It's a basic made to move doll.... with 90s quality fashion ave outfits. No unique face or facial mold.... Boring short hair.... I don't get it... Rip off rip off rip off!

I still collect barbies, I’m very disappointed in all the dolls since they quit using the rubber bendable legs. I hate the hard plastic. They used to have more hair. I’ve noticed some are bald in spots if you try to restyle their hair. LOL. I’m collecting dolls from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In my opinion she's defo not worth the money. The doll itself is a made to move barbie. And my friends just bought the exact same one with face mold as she comes in a wheel chair. To get the sleeves of the jacket over her hands, cut the corners off a snack sized ziplock bag, and put the corners over her hands. The jacket should slide on easily.
Wow, I thought that $150 Canadian on Amazon was high because by straight US exchange, it should only be $130. But, 125 pounds is over $200 Canadian! I think she might drop a bit on Amazon, judging by past dolls. I like #2 and #4 in the series better, so I am saving for those. However, I might be swayed because this one is more the iconic BarbieStyle Barbie. Over $200, though, and I would prefer an Integrity doll, because the quality is better.

Even though I think she's what I'd expect from Mattel, I don't think she is worth $100. $40 would have been a decent price with what you get considering they cheaped on on some aspects about her, like her dress is not as full and the ends are just cut with a raw edge. Raw edges on my $100 doll? No thank you. The fact its even shorter then what it's supposed to be like.
Nothing Mattel produces today should cost more than half what Integrity dolls cost. Period. The quality isn't there, and the production runs are enormous by comparison. The cost per unit to make 500 of something versus 10,000 of something is drastically higher. I always thought I'd be a Barbie customer for life, but you get so, so little for your money with Barbie. The quality isn't there. The design is juvenile and generic. The articulated bodies suck. (If you can't do an articulated body that's as elegant as an IT body, *don't* articulate. Period. Those knees are just fucking offensive.) Mattel used to be able to please everyone from the flyover housewives buying holiday dolls to exquisite dolls like Lighter Than Air Barbie in porcelain. Now everything is poor quality, and it looks like it's all designed for six year olds. I'm frankly disgusted.
That zipper also sucks. There are doll scale zippers on the market. That zipper pull looks absurd. Kudos for using *a* zipper. Maybe use the *right* zipper next time.
Of course. It is worth money. This Barbie sold like hot cakes in Hong Kong. It was popular in HK. I managed to secured a few pieces. How lucky I was. The price will go up as times goes by.
I really like her and I love the clothes. I don't like the price point, I think it is a tad high. I wouldn't pay more than $60. But that said I am more interested in some of the other dolls that will be coming out in this line down the road so maybe. Perhaps if they go on sale or something. And yes, I wish Mattel would make the playline dolls better quality. The best ones they have right now are the Extra dolls, which I kind of like but the styles are a little crazy for my taste for the most part. If they could at least dress the Fashionistas in better clothes and raise the prices, that would be nice. I think most parents would be willing to pay more for a better doll for their kid, they buy them those OMG or whatever they are dolls and they are more then $10. They could keep the budget Barbies and the bathing suit Barbies in the really cheap zone still.

The presentation is great. The doll is beautiful. I like the quality of the clothes but I'm not in love with fit of the pink jacket. I got her pink trousers to fit over the panties when I worked with them a bit more. Also, I would have liked her better if, for the price, we had received another outfit or at least a few more outfit pieces. I'm glad I bought her because I would have regretted it if I hadn't, but I wish we'd received more for our money. But all in all, she's a quality doll and I really prefer the MTM bodies to the integrity body.
Sorry but no. That doll is not worth 130 euros (it is the price in Spain). For that price I buy almost 4 LOL OMG or Rainbow High or Nana Surprise that have the same quality of clothes or more than this Barbie Style. Or I can buy a few BMR Barbies and Barbie fashion packs ... In my opinion, Mattel is ripping us off again. If she cost 60 or 50 euros, I would possibly buy it.
The doll itself feels more playline but the outfits look great. I do feel price is bit too much. In the past we have had collector dolls with good quality and outfits for a lower price point. A doll like this with one outfit would be great for playline. Even up to 40-50 euro but 125 is bit much. I hope Mattel can find the middle ground between quality dolls and better prices.

The most I ever paid for a barbie was $180. This was the then new Audrey Hepburn Silkstone Barbie. The doll in the video is lovely but 125 pounds is pretty steep.
In the promo images for the fashionista 169 she has barrettes but there is a ponytail in the back of her hair in real life but in the images there isn’t. The barrettes don’t stay in her hair. She is very pretty though
I feel like even if young kids don’t care about articulation, Barbie should still have it. A good doll is something, a kid will keep for a long time. And they will eventually prefer it.
She is a lovely doll. I'm waiting on one of the upcoming dolls if she ends up being produced. Can't afford to collect this entire line. Have to be selective. I'm more inclined to buy one now after seeing this review. .

I love the doll but I think I disagree on the worth, maybe it's because I'm so used to my 90-00s Barbie playline dolls having a 2nd change of clothes or even more for their mix 'n' match collection they'd be less than $40 with about the same quality. if you know the barbie style instagram page, you'd know that the accessories are all custom made/handmade exclusively only for aesthetic barbie "influencer" photo shoots and this doll was made so fans can experience those dolls since people were demanding to sell some of them. i'm guessing all the stuff she comes with is also handmade which is why she's expensive.

I still collect barbies, I’m very disappointed in all the dolls since they quit using the rubber bendable legs. I hate the hard plastic. They used to have more hair. I’ve noticed some are bald in spots if you try to restyle their hair. LOL. I’m collecting dolls from the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In my opinion she's defo not worth the money. The doll itself is a made to move barbie. And my friends just bought the exact same one with face mold as she comes in a wheel chair. Yes the quality in clothes is good but does that really mean an extra £80 pound was spent on clothing card board certification and box?? Hmmm too pricy in my opinion. Great video as always x

Way too expensive. I pay that much for Integrity Toys dolls but I wouldn’t even pay half for this one.
To get the sleeves of the jacket over her hands, cut the corners off a snack sized ziplock bag, and put the corners over her hands. The jacket should slide on easily.

Wow, I thought that $150 Canadian on Amazon was high because by straight US exchange, it should only be $130. But, 125 pounds is over $200 Canadian! I think she might drop a bit on Amazon, judging by past dolls. I like #2 and #4 in the series better, so I am saving for those. However, I might be swayed because this one is more the iconic BarbieStyle Barbie. Over $200, though, and I would prefer an Integrity doll, because the quality is better.
I would def buy this but cannot accommodate it in my budget atm. Shes so cute. I do wish they put lenses in the glasses instead of them being solid at this price.

Even though I think she's what I'd expect from Mattel, I don't think she is worth $100. $40 would have been a decent price with what you get considering they cheaped on on some aspects about her, like her dress is not as full and the ends are just cut with a raw edge. Raw edges on my $100 doll? No thank you. The fact its even shorter then what it's supposed to be like.
Nothing Mattel produces today should cost more than half what Integrity dolls cost. Period. The quality isn't there, and the production runs are enormous by comparison. The cost per unit to make 500 of something versus 10,000 of something is drastically higher. I always thought I'd be a Barbie customer for life, but you get so, so little for your money with Barbie. The quality isn't there. The design is juvenile and generic. The articulated bodies suck. (If you can't do an articulated body that's as elegant as an IT body, *don't* articulate. Period. Those knees are just fucking offensive.) Mattel used to be able to please everyone from the flyover housewives buying holiday dolls to exquisite dolls like Lighter Than Air Barbie in porcelain. Now everything is poor quality, and it looks like it's all designed for six year olds. I'm frankly disgusted.
That zipper also sucks. There are doll scale zippers on the market. That zipper pull looks absurd. Kudos for using *a* zipper. Maybe use the *right* zipper next time.

Of course. It is worth money. This Barbie sold like hot cakes in Hong Kong. It was popular in HK. I managed to secured a few pieces. How lucky I was. The price will go up as times goes by.
I really like her and I love the clothes. I don't like the price point, I think it is a tad high. I wouldn't pay more than $60. But that said I am more interested in some of the other dolls that will be coming out in this line down the road so maybe. Perhaps if they go on sale or something. And yes, I wish Mattel would make the playline dolls better quality. The best ones they have right now are the Extra dolls, which I kind of like but the styles are a little crazy for my taste for the most part. If they could at least dress the Fashionistas in better clothes and raise the prices, that would be nice. I think most parents would be willing to pay more for a better doll for their kid, they buy them those OMG or whatever they are dolls and they are more then $10. They could keep the budget Barbies and the bathing suit Barbies in the really cheap zone still.

Personally; I don't even think she's worth that 75 USD price tag... Maybe 40? Honestly, we're getting so many high quality dolls for 25-40 so I don't think this one deserves to be a higher price just because of some fancy packaging

The presentation is great. The doll is beautiful. I like the quality of the clothes but I'm not in love with fit of the pink jacket. I got her pink trousers to fit over the panties when I worked with them a bit more. Also, I would have liked her better if, for the price, we had received another outfit or at least a few more outfit pieces. I'm glad I bought her because I would have regretted it if I hadn't, but I wish we'd received more for our money. But all in all, she's a quality doll and I really prefer the MTM bodies to the integrity body.
Sorry but no. That doll is not worth 130 euros (it is the price in Spain). For that price I buy almost 4 LOL OMG or Rainbow High or Nana Surprise that have the same quality of clothes or more than this Barbie Style. Or I can buy a few BMR Barbies and Barbie fashion packs ... In my opinion, Mattel is ripping us off again.

We got this doll. Love it but yes they need to have playline dolls better like this. Orignal barbie was detailed like this.
The doll itself feels more playline but the outfits look great. I do feel price is bit too much. In the past we have had collector dolls with good quality and outfits for a lower price point. A doll like this with one outfit would be great for playline. Even up to 40-50 euro but 125 is bit much. I hope Mattel can find the middle ground between quality dolls and better prices.

Shes nice but the Generation Girl collection were detailed, articulated and came with a spare outfit and marketed at avoidable playline cost. This doll is definitely not worth the money. Is the jacket lined?

The most I ever paid for a barbie was $180. This was the then new Audrey Hepburn Silkstone Barbie. The doll in the video is lovely but 125 pounds is pretty steep.

In the promo images for the fashionista 169 she has barrettes but there is a ponytail in the back of her hair in real life but in the images there isn’t. The barrettes don’t stay in her hair. She is very pretty though

£125 is about the same as most vintage Barbies on eBay. The gold label ones are well in the thousands. I think she is decently priced.

I love the doll but I think I disagree on the worth, maybe it's because I'm so used to my 90-00s Barbie playline dolls having a 2nd change of clothes or even more for their mix 'n' match collection they'd be less than $40 with about the same quality. Hell, you used to be able to get one of these outfits in a Fashion Avenue pack.
I think it’s a good price for barbie collectors but not for kids and people who are going to play with with different outfits.

Great doll, clothes and accessories BUT I think her price could have been around 80 euro/gbp/dollars... Normally, back in her golden days, a Barbie doll with an extra change of clothes, accessories and high quality would be sold for 30$... But I suppose that this era has already come to an end... 😢 There are times I would consider buying her, but then again maybe not...
