Who knew, today's Barbies with high quality clothes would cost over 100 bucks. When back in the day most Barbies had good quality clothes, attention to detail accessories and they were under 30 bucks. Wow.
Facts an a lot of choices to choose from not to mention
That shows that mga is destroying Barbie or Barbie thinks that kids will play with anything no matter how low quality it is like they can't even articulate the playline dolls at least they did that with extra except they cut corners to do that and overcharge for them
its sad how barbie can make half the quality of a mga play line doll then price it 3 times more.

SAME AND TBH that doll technically without all the extra clothes and accessories would be like $15 like less fabric to make the clothes of a made to mocve barbie. So it's really 85 dollars for some clothes.... LIKE WTAF

Mga releases dolls with same even higher quality than this doll for way cheaper. I think I can say this for everyone else that this quality should be in all Mattel’s fashion dolls.

It was alright but not for the price. She looks like a nurse from the early 90s. Lol I personally wasn’t impressed with the outfit. I thought face was cute and I love the body. Hate the hair. These should be the standard not luxury. This doll is so boring
Ugly doll and the clothes is super cheap looking and ugly. $30 should be the price and is still much for this horrible doll. The hair is atrocious.

As I do appreciate her upgrade of the quality of mattel actually listening to us on the clothing , I do believe they spent more on the packaging and not enough on the fabrics, layering details and enough attention to detail based solely on the 100 bucks price tag ! Compared to Mga already giving this to us for a Meir 25-35 bucks ! And this is Mattel! Which is already a multimillion dollar company that has been around for 60 years ! Haven’t they learned by know what we want ?! I sure do miss my 90s type barbies so much and still have them ! Come on Barbie !! Come on !
I feel like I can get the same effect by getting a made to move barbie and go on Etsy for clothes and accessories. I guess at the end end of they day to achieve the similar look it would end up being $80- $100.
My local discount store has doll with the same face mould, so honestly I'm not seeing anything "special" considering the jacket and bag's fake leather is gonna peel off anyway 😐

Growing up in the 80s, Barbie's clothes were made of better material for the most part. They need to go back to that. This doll just makes me think of my Jean Loving Barbie with her pink fuzzy sweater and denim jeans.
even me growing up in the 2000s had better materials. I remember my barbie actually having eyelashes, a skirt and top made of two different fabrics (and the denim skirts were not just printed on tacky fabric), multiple shoes that were different styles. I don't understand how the quality has dropped so much. I haven't bought a playline barbie in YEARS because they all suck.
i feel like the quality is on par with rainbow high/ lol surprise omg, so for it to be *so* expensive just to match the quality of other companies’ standard dolls, just feels a bit sad haha
She's pretty under 60 dollars tbh, way back then maybe this doll will only cost 30-40, but here in my country sadly the price doubles!!

I feel like I'm the only Barbie collector who isn't excited about this doll. She seems fine but kind of plain and overpriced. A MTM doll is only $15-16, so that's like $85 for 2 fashions, and I only like the blue outfit. I can't justify the purchase.
You're not the only one, honest. "Hate" is a strong word, but I think I actually hate this doll. Her face is childlike and boring, she's also cross-eyed, her body, her outfits, the leather jacket with chiffon dress looks odd, leather jacket zip is as big as her head, suit trousers swing around her ankles, her hair has a plasticy shine to it like a fancy-dress wig and is a mess and doesn't even move.... nothing good about this doll whatsoever.
Nope you’re not the only one. I don’t understand the hype over this doll. The doll alone looks like a cheap play line doll. So everyone is freaking out because there are buttons, pockets and a purse?!? The leather jacket is cute but the zipper is huge. The fashions are bland sorry. I don’t think I’d even spend $50 on this doll. I don’t get the hype. At all. That’s just my opinion. 🙂

Absoloutly not worth it 😳 it's a £15 doll with nice clothes it should be £50 at most and that's pushing it. I feel like mattel are taking us for all we've got.. playline dolls from the 90's and below have just as good a quality as that, sometines even better quality..
It's a nice doll, but I would NEVER pay that ridiculous amount for it, I think this is close to the quality the play line had in late 90's early 00's
The jacket isn't even fitted well. It's such a shame that 20 years ago when I was playing with barbie the same quality doll (minus the extra joints) would be playline. I hate saying that "it was better back then" but I mattel has really dropped the ball. You would think with more competition they would raise the quality, but instead they cut corners just to make an extra buck. Edit: The pink jacket. The leather jacket looks good

if you know the barbie style instagram page, you'd know that the accessories are all custom made/handmade exclusively only for aesthetic barbie "influencer" photo shoots and this doll was made so fans can experience those dolls since people were demanding to sell some of them. i'm guessing all the stuff she comes with is also handmade which is why she's expensive.

She looks adorable. The quality looks really nice. Even though I'm not a big Barbie fan, I would buy her, but only if she would cost like 50 dollars.

For me the price is exactly what is holding me back buying this doll. I would just buy it for the outfits.
I think £70-80 is the highest this should be tbh. I mean made to move bodies are £16, the face mould is closed and the rest of the budget is essentially going into clothing & the box which while good quality, is pushing it. You shouldn't have to pay the astronomical price here for quality that was available in playline dolls a few years ago.

In my opinion she's defo not worth the money. The doll itself is a made to move barbie. And my friends just bought the exact same one with face mold as she comes in a wheel chair. Yes the quality in clothes is good but does that really mean an extra £80 pound was spent on clothing card board certification and box?? Hmmm too pricy in my opinion. Great video as always x

I feel so terrible that I picked out so much I would have done to better finish her clothing. Especially that jacket, it could look so much sharper with some well applied couture techniques and a good pressing.
Way too expensive. I pay that much for Integrity Toys dolls but I wouldn’t even pay half for this one.
6:20 the cropped hair looks more realistic but, the long hair looks more fun to play with.

I did a search on this Barbie and found your site! This was really helpful. I have been working with a group of guys who nicknamed me Barbie and have just bought me one of these as a "goodbye and good luck" gift. Honestly, I thought she was a lot of fun and I will be displaying her on my dressing table!

to be honest I hate the fact how everyone's is flipping their heads over the fact that mattel did the bare minimum and asks for an almost integrity toys price point. like why does everyone have such low standards. her clothes aren't THAT good, they're just basic, it's not worth 125 pounds goddamit

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE HER HANDS! MTM Barbie dolls are not designed for switching! Several collectors broke Barbie doll's hands to put on clothes, and regretted it afterwards!

@@delirium5381 Collectors assume that because Integrity Toys' dolls have removable joints, that Barbie does too! I've seen several commenters say that they successfully pulled the hands out by dipping in hot boiling water and pulling the entire peg and hand out, but do you want to try? The 'Toy Chat' channel was where I saw the broken hand!

@@DoIIyMama that people arround the world can Buy her at retail price , RH are only un América and You can get them with resellers , but for more than $100 US dollars , also, if a doll is avaliavable Word wide , it means they do more , and at this quality, it means a Lot more effort

Second outfit looks like a granny outfit.
Even though I think she's what I'd expect from Mattel, I don't think she is worth $100. $40 would have been a decent price with what you get considering they cheaped on on some aspects about her, like her dress is not as full and the ends are just cut with a raw edge. Raw edges on my $100 doll? No thank you. The fact its even shorter then what it's supposed to be like.

I still collect barbies, I’m very disappointed in all the dolls since they quit using the rubber bendable legs. I hate the hard plastic. They used to have more hair. I’ve noticed some are bald in spots if you try to restyle their hair. LOL. I’m collecting dolls from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

To get the sleeves of the jacket over her hands, cut the corners off a snack sized ziplock bag, and put the corners over her hands. The jacket should slide on easily.

I really like her and I love the clothes. I don't like the price point, I think it is a tad high. I wouldn't pay more than $60. But that said I am more interested in some of the other dolls that will be coming out in this line down the road so maybe. Perhaps if they go on sale or something. And yes, I wish Mattel would make the playline dolls better quality. The best ones they have right now are the Extra dolls, which I kind of like but the styles are a little crazy for my taste for the most part. If they could at least dress the Fashionistas in better clothes and raise the prices, that would be nice. I think most parents would be willing to pay more for a better doll for their kid, they buy them those OMG or whatever they are dolls and they are more then $10. They could keep the budget Barbies and the bathing suit Barbies in the really cheap zone still.
Wow, I thought that $150 Canadian on Amazon was high because by straight US exchange, it should only be $130. But, 125 pounds is over $200 Canadian! I think she might drop a bit on Amazon, judging by past dolls. I like #2 and #4 in the series better, so I am saving for those. However, I might be swayed because this one is more the iconic BarbieStyle Barbie. Over $200, though, and I would prefer an Integrity doll, because the quality is better.
I'm so glad to liked her. I didn't have the same reaction. The stitching on mine's dress is all uneven and her hair is VERY messy. I think she's worth $75 USD 😞
Personally; I don't even think she's worth that 75 USD price tag... Maybe 40? Honestly, we're getting so many high quality dolls for 25-40 so I don't think this one deserves to be a higher price just because of some fancy packaging

Here in the states that's $175. For one barbie doll and some outfits. It's a basic made to move doll.... with 90s quality fashion ave outfits. No unique face or facial mold.... Boring short hair.... I don't get it... Rip off rip off rip off!

Of course. It is worth money. This Barbie sold like hot cakes in Hong Kong. It was popular in HK. I managed to secured a few pieces. How lucky I was. The price will go up as times goes by.

I'd say this doll is worth around $30-$40 since there's nothing outstanding about the clothes/makeup/hair and is the same quality of an LoL OMG and RH

Great doll, clothes and accessories BUT I think her price could have been around 80 euro/gbp/dollars... Normally, back in her golden days, a Barbie doll with an extra change of clothes, accessories and high quality would be sold for 30$... But I suppose that this era has already come to an end... 😢 There are times I would consider buying her, but then again maybe not...
In the one thing I'm really excited that this Barbie doll has efficient painted toenail and fingernails I haven't seen that in a long time on a Barbie
I feel like even if young kids don’t care about articulation, Barbie should still have it. A good doll is something, a kid will keep for a long time. And they will eventually prefer it.
